Heya I am doin video feedback, just first impressions and stuffs. Simple but awesome entry!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you very much for the wonderful feedback, I think seeing people playing my creations is the coolest part of developing a game, but anyway, let's get started!

Regarding the keys, I really don't know why I chose not to put WASD, since it is something that you end up doing automatically in Unity, but I updated the game with them.

About the lava bugs (black border) and exit delay, they were fixed in the update as well: ^)

About Lava itself, it was literally the hardest thing to do in this game, because it is done in real time by shaders, and I am still learning it, it took me a long time to get it done, but the result satisfied me.

About the procedural generation of the scenario is done in a very simple way, it basically creates a grid of level +1 x level +1, that is, at level 1 the grid is 2x2, at level 2 is 3x3, and so on. In this grid, he chooses a random tile, and makes a hole from there, the number of holes is equal to the number of the Level. In this format, the only way to create an impossible level, is if the holes isolate a floor (making it impossible for the player to step on it), then if that happens, I also create a hole in place of the isolated floor, so in a simple way all levels that are generated are possible to win.

In fact I chose to make the game impossible to play infinitely, just to require the player's ability to reach higher levels, and as the game does not have much content, going infinitely would be kind of boring.

I don't have much intention of continuing to develop this game after the jam, but if I change my mind I will add more content and mechanics yes.

Again, thanks so much for the feedback!

I like it. I liked the music, the attitude, the puzzles themselves. Gets pretty challenging. Not sure if I'd really consider it roguelite, feels more like a racer, but it's still pretty cool!

Developer

Thanks for playing. I considered a roguelite just because of the procedurally generated scenario, grid movement and permanent death. They are the main elements of a roguelite but in fact I should analyze this in more depth.

Wow, I like the idea very much, and the presentation, too. :) (The music not so much, though :D)

Unfortunatley it gets too hard for me pretty quickly.

Developer

Thanks!

Made it to lvl 7!
I thought it was easy, but after lvl 4 it got really challenging. I love both animals, so this game got me playing for a while :D

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Very clean movement puzzles. I made it to level 11

Developer

Thanks, good, that was the biggest record so far.

super fun and loved the contrast between "hell" and the two pals - the music and sfx were a treat too, unexpected but really worked well with the fast-paced nature of the game (the puzzles were great! i only made it up to level 7 but a zen mode would be cool too)

Developer

Thanks, I will consider create a zen mode in the future :^)

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it

very funny game !  myst best is level 8 ! :) (time is too short in this one haha)

Developer

Thanks for playing, yes, the time is very short, so I was wanting to see how far people can get, so that I can balance a little in the future. (although i like this high difficulty of roguelites)

Really fun. I made it to level 7.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Amazing visuals! And the controls are quite responsive which is uncommon is puzzle games!

Developer

Thanks for the review :^)

Developer

Thanks

It looks super well polished and the feeling of moving around and finishing the puzzles is really comfortable with those sound effects, however i don't see the roguelite part the best, starting over is a bit sad in this case because levels are not very different each time, the graphics are fantastic and that country music really makes you go fast XD

All in all, fantastic entry, congrats! ^^

Thank you very much for the review :^)

I like how you can just jump into the lava, always gets me when I'm trying to rush lol

Dude, just a tip: try to make your games running on Web. Most people does not like to download, install, then play our games. But I'll.

Be back for feedback soon! ^^

Good job, dude. I liked a lot the song and sound when we falls into lava. Haha! Very nice.

The itself is very enjoyful however it becomes repetitive after some matches.

The art is very awesome, too. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the review, i tried to make the web version but the game didn't load, i'm still trying to solve this :^(

Ask for another people here in JAM, they could help you.

You got it! Good job, dude! ;)

Developer

Thanks, I found out that the problem was because I was running directly from the index, but when I put it on itch.io, it worked :v

Love the music, really fits the game. This is going into my favorites, one of the most underrated games of this jam. Maybe if you change the cover image it would help.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review, i will change the cover image :^)
