How was your experience with Mini Jam?
It was great, I sadly only had about a day and it was my first full game in Unity, but I had a lot of fun honestly.

very fun indeed :3

Really nice game idea, but the balancing may be off. I liked it, and throwing the dice feels good, but it felt a bit tedious as I was just always using the same dice since I had no options - this may because you get random dice as you progress and I got nothing good ( checked another playthrough and I got different dice there ).

The fight against the Dice king was just kind of impossible (both me and him just healed up every few rounds for 5+ min then I quit)

But again, I actually like the idea.

Developer

I wanted to implement dice that counter healing and bypass shields but just didn't have enough time. The rewards are indeed randomised and if you don't get another attack dice the final fight becomes pretty tedious. Thanks for playing anyways!

Great use of limitation , very polished and cool mechanic!

Amazing game! The dice mechanic  was great and simple! Great job!

This is a fantastic game. I love the simplicity. It wasn't too complicated or confusing and that leads to really polished gameplay. I had a really fun time playing this. Good Job!

Thanks, appreciate the feedback!

A very tasty one.

Really, really love the use of the dice limitation here. Throwing em around gives that extra push to making a one button system a lot more fun! The battles are also really fun as well, with the exception of the final one which just took a really long time to finally beat.

The art style for the enemies is just really cool, and the game in general just feels really awesome to play. An overall great game.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback! This game was built around the dice throwing mechanic which was too fun not to use. The final boss might be pretty annoying to beat if you didn't get an attack dice from previous battles.

It's a great game! But for some reason, I can't beat the dice king. We always end up with full health and shield. I really enjoyed it tho. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks! If you are unlucky and don't get an attack dice from the previous fights then it might be pretty difficult to win it.

Very enjoyable game, with a solid core concept that has a lot of potential to be further fleshed out if you decided to do so!

Developer

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'll consider making a full version with more content.

I love it, it feels really professional ?

I think you should keep going in this way, maybe make a full game out of it, it's really fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that's very nice to hear! I think the minimalist artstyle is what makes it feel this way. I'll think about making a full game, I would definitely add more dice types and perks for starting armor and such.

Dice management works great, and it looks so crisp and cool.

As it has been said, fights can drag on. It's a matter of balancing offensive and defensive options. On a one-to-one conversion (and rolling similar dice) the result is very slow. Nerfing or limiting the green and blue dice would make it faster. Putting a cap on shield would help too.

Developer

Balancing is a very tough subject to get right, mostly because I just ran out of time and sorta had to rush things. Originally there were supposed to be poison dice to counter the healing that would also ignore the shields and really strong shieldbreaking dice, but there's only so much you can make in a day.

Thank you so much for playing!

Oh, I get you. Balancing this challenge has been a nightmare. I think the added randomness of dice makes it tougher.

Really good game. I love that even though there is a certain amount of luck to it there is still some strategy to it so you aren't just mindlessly throwing dice, you actually have to think. I also love the art and presentation in this game it's simple but very effective. My only gripe is that some fights get a bit repettetive especially the rat since I don't know if it's just bad rng but he kept on healing himself even if I use all my attack dice and what ends up happening is that his health point only moves down a single point every few turns. But other than that I enjoyed myself and am really impressed that this was made in just a day. It's hard to make a game in 3 days much less a single one so really good job on this and I enjoyed it a lot.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! I understand that some fights can seem repetetive as  I didn't have much time to put a lot of thought into designing them well. The rat fight has only one heal of great quality so you must've been pretty unlucky that he kept rolling it, instead of the many weak attack dice that he has.

Yeah like I said I assumed it was just really bad rng cause that was my longest fight lol.
