Very challenging game. I really like that at 2nd or 3rd level you notice that you don't just collect the same thing, but something that looks like a part of a puzzle and it gets delivered whole to you at the end. Dynamic and energetic soundtrack would probably amp up the feel of this game a lot, but perhaps silence goes well with the story better. Since you have really short time for each attempt, it was enjoyable to figure out the most optimal way to beat the level and then attempt it, made you feel like a speedrunner. I have suspicion that you're pretty good at these platforming levels, and I feel you will lose a bunch of points because there will be people that could not finish most of the levels. This kind of difficulty might just be part of the game as are some super hard games, but just be aware that what is easy for you might be pretty hard for an average player. Finally, the name, aesthetic and art choice are all great. Clean and simple, but at the same time gloomy effect works great with the feel of the game.
Thank you for the comment! When it comes to the difficulty I am a pretty big fan of tough platforming games and I just couldn't resist the sadistic urge, I even had to nerf some of the jumps because I knew that the character movement was not that great especially for precise movement and I have heard that I shouldn't make games that are too difficult for game jams. Looking back I still made the last 2 levels just a bit too hard, next time I will try to make my games easier with harder levels as an option. Anyway thank you for the feedback!
simple yet fun, simple fun good job!
damn that hidden spring at the end! The game was fun, challenging and enjoyable. A bit of soundtrack would've been nice, good job!
I think the ‘jumping area’ is a but harsh. I found that I would hit jump slightly yo late most of the time. after some testing if the player is halfway on the edge they don’t seem to be able to jump.
Incorporating velocity into the play movement would be nice as well. i found myself trying to adjust for momentum that didn’t exist. Causing me to die a lot.
I think the timer is slightly brutal for a jam game. I would have increased the time a bit just for the jam.
Ascetic 10/10 tho. Well done.
Aside in the browser I had to hit full screen to see the full game.

The controls need some work as it’s too slippery. Perhaps coyote time needs to be implemented too, as I find myself having to always come to a stop before I make a jump off the edge so that I don’t miss the timing. For the last level, the springs that kill the player at the top could have a smaller collision box, as it launched me even though I wasn’t touching it. There was a strange bug during the last jump at the end (past the hidden spring in the ground) that killed me mid-air for no reason one time. I’m also not a fan of the timer being just enough to complete the level as it forces the player to make absolutely no mistakes, which is too punishing. This would have been alright if the controls are top-notch.
With the criticism out of the way, I did manage to complete it and saw the broken heart at the end but I’m not really sure what the story is about. The aesthetic is pretty cool and the level design is pretty good. Keep it up!
this game is really cool, you'll win for sure!
It Was Fun & Well Calculated. Perfecto <3
Great game!
Very good graphics, and a well balanced difficulty.
The timer added a lot to the challenge, and sometimes I would run out of time right next to the end, which made finally completing the level even more satisfying!
Overall great submission :)
Yay I finished it. That last level was super tricky haha!! Very nice work. Felt really polished and some really good choices. I especially liked how things progressed (like having to bounce off the top pads near the spikes) etc. Some nice tuning there...very cool.
Furthermore I like how the gameplay teaches the player what to do (something I can learn from), and -- you fit the rush theme perfectly with that timer. Very good stuff.
We had similar ideas, nice job!
The jump pads don't always work which can be a little frustrating when they're at the end of a level. Also, on level 7 (I think?) the spikes before the finish line don't kill you- you can just walk over them
Oh no, I was afraid that would happen. I thought I looked everywhere for oversights like this but I guess this set of spikes went unnoticed, thanks for telling me. Also yeah the trampoline code is not the best but oh well. Anyway thank you for the comment!
I really like the simple art style.
The controls are a bit slippery for me and the jump is unresponsive near the edges.
The theme is on point though and I really like the level design!
Nice submission!
I absolutely loved how infuriating this game is and the new mechanics with the jumppads made things even more interesting. I could spend hours playing this just to try beating it.
I really enjoyed the gameplay! Maybe including some music could help sell the atmosphere, but the art was really cleanly done.
Thank you! Actually, I was thinking about adding in music. I couldn't really find anything that would fit the atmosphere in time, but it would probably be a great addition.
