Looks a bit too much like a clone of slay the spire, but a nice game nonetheless - I am impressed how much you managed to achieve in 48 hours. Good job on making all the card cover-arts! The slime boss is fun, those animal head sticking out :)
A few things to improve upon:
1) The fire on top of the stick of the player is a lot more detailed and hence looks out of place.
2) The card that says "draw a card, discard a card" should probably specify that it discards a random card.
3) Obviously, you can improve UI by looking at slay the spire - add the ability to look into draw and discard piles, add buttons for fast card picking (and E to end the turn).
4) Looks like none of the enemies have any abilities, that is kinda sad.
5) Add some more animations to both player and enemies - they kinda just stay still the entire combat.
6) I'd say remove the "next turn draw two extra cards" card - it is pretty much useless. The only time you would play it is if your hand is full of healing cards you can't play and you just happened to have spare energy left.
Wow this is the second Slay the Spire-like game I play. Pretty good. I would add some animations to the cards to make ii feel more dynamic. Also different enemy attacks would make it less repetitive, but I guess there was no time for more. Nice job though! :)
Card game it was a game i wanted to do. So i made a chess like game, and you made this one. Thanks to you, I was able to play a card game :DD
So about game.
Its pretty good, but i think some kind of a tutorial will make it better!
Good work!
I found that to be very engaging however I wish there was a little more instruction. It was quick to learn though.
Super well polished and impressive given the time frame.
Whoa, the concepts pretty cool, I enjoyed it! Congrats for making it something different with the kit!
Really nice art with the background a lot of custom stuff too that just looked quite clean and fitted with the rest of the art pack. Look forward to a greater diversity in play styles as there are only really 2 decks you can build at the moment but that was expected since it is a jam, really nice job :)
Nice little deckbuilder. It could be a really cool game with some more mechanics and updates.
I really enjoyed your game! It reminded me a lot of Baten Kaitos on GameCube, which is really a good thing!
There is a good usage of the art assets, and the art style is very coherent.
The only things missing for me:
- Animations on the characters for the attack/hurt feedback (there is a visual attack but not reflected on their bodies, it is static)
- Sound feedback, I think that it could improve a lot the immersion in your game.
Apart from that, very nice work!
Thanks for the feedback! I did it with a friend and this is our first game jam, we will probably come back to the game and fix everything we can :P. We just didnt have enough time to do too much animations and sounds. Anyways very happy you enjoyed!
yaaaay pretty cool! Dude, a scratch sound and some shaking would add a lot to the game during the punch exchanging. Nice work
Very well done! Great use of assets, engaging gameplay. Some animations and sounds of attacks would really elevate the experience.
Really creative use of assets. Lack of a tutorial could make it difficult for someone who hasn't played a similar game like Slay the Spire to figure out the mechanics. Would also like to see more differentiation between enemy types but overall very impressive game for such a short time limit. One of my favorites I've played so far.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we wanted to polish it more, but we overscope it by A LOT. This is our first game, and it was a really amazing experience
I see roguelike card game, I click! It was a fun game, the environment and enemy designs were well done. I feel like instead of putting all the work into environments it would have been better to add some animations for when an enemy hits you, because right now they feel flat and it is difficult to tell which enemy is hitting you. Also I am not sure the point of the 1 mana draw and discard cards, I thought they would discard then draw so you could use them with an empty hand, but they always seems to just discard the cards they've drawn so seems kinda useless. Also it is strange how you need to unselect one card before you can select another. Overall though great job and really ambitious for a game jam!
Thanks for your feedback! We overscope the project and we couldn't get the time to work the animations, pretty much we animate the entrance of the enemy and that was it. This was our first Game but we will improve in the future for sure!
