Good movement, but for some reason I couldnt see any of the dialogue boxes - i loaded in to just me on the screen, couldnt move until I mashed E a few times, then I could tell I was starting conversations cause of the movement lockout but I couldnt see any of the text. The only thing i can think of that might cause that is that my resolution for my monitors is pretty high, so maybe something to do with that? I can tell the game would be good if it was working properly though.

Developer(+1)

oh man, that sucks, we tested it on a 3440x1440 and 1920x1080x screens and everything seemed fine :(
but hey, if you want to check it out you can try setting your desktop resolution to something smaller and maybe that will work :D
or maybe alt+enter to switch from fullscreen to windowed mode

Game is really interesting, but would benefit a lot from a little background music, and also the ability to just walk away from conversations (Too many times have I restarted a conversation I meant to end)

Developer

We actually added sounds last minute, but it made for a nice eerie setting :D
I wanted to do that! But it was easier to just lock player in place to avoid other possible issues.
Thanks for checking out the game!

If there was a way to break the cycle, I didn't do it. Also couldn't figure out who the hospital notice goes to. Besides that neat concept, the graphics are cohesive, but would have been nice to see custom assets. Audio wise music would have been nice, otherwise is fine. The letter throwing took some getting used to, and sometimes I would accidentally throw a letter instead of continuing dialogue. Could have used a menu, but hey it is what it is. Cool game, would have liked to see it more polished :), pretty original as well with the double meaning

Thank you for the feedback!
As for art, yeah, that's what you get from two programmers "^^
If you'd like to finish the game, here is a tip for you: there is only one person in your way that could use some bad news to move away ;)

Submitted

I went back and beat it lol, thanks for the help. Nice little ending :)

Really liked the idea, but didn't get how break the cycle. Loved that you add so many dialogs in this game, I drove all over the city to read most of the phrases you drew. Also cycling itself feels really good and i kinda like that there is no music. You just don't know what's going on and the only thing you hear is the sound of your bike. It creates a slightly creepy atmosphere.

Developer

I'm happy you liked it!
If you'd like to find the ending, there are a few letters lying on the ground that you might need to pick up!
And a small tip: start with delivering the letter for "postman" to the ex husband of one of the NPCs

I like the Idea and Style, but after throwing a letter i couldnt move anymore which is sad, but i really like the idea :)

Developer

oh, that's weird, if I were to guess that letter reached someone and the dialogue bubble appeared off screen, that's unfortunate.
thanks for checking it out!

I liked the way the characters reacted to the letters I was delivering! Environment and audio were a little sparse, but I liked the bike noises you worked in. Some music would have gone a long way to improving the atmosphere. I also ran into the random crashing issue - I guess that lady's ex sucks as bad as she said he did, because he broke the whole game.

Developer

Haha, glad you liked it!
We left audio and visual clutter for the end, and then we run into some issues which took the rest of our time, so unfortunately the tunnel is the most polished up area of the game :D

I had trouble with the movement not working, is there something i have to do to get it to work at the beginning?

Developer

Someone mentioned they had this issue, and had to adjust their refresh rate to 60hz for it to work, honestly not sure what they meant, I assume their monitor refresh rate(?)
Other than that you should be able to move with WASD as soon as you click through the dialogue bubbles at the beginning using E

Not sure if I got the true ending but got an ending haha, nice little game.  Had some crashes, but got an ending at least haha

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I'm glad you persisted through crashes and liked it!
There is only one "actual" ending, so congrats! :D

An interesting little underlying story. A few technical glitches (my refresh rate needed to be adjusted to 60 to move), and cocksworth st 3 would sometimes crash, I got pretty far along, but not sure who the postman is. The cycling movement feels nice and the ambience is a little creepy.

Developer

Small tip! Look for a broken man who drunks his sorrows away ;(
And yeah, we found out that this crash occurs only in standalone build last minute and couldn't fix it unfortunately
Didn't know about the frame rate issue, thanks a lot for pointing it out!

Submitted

Thanks for the tip, came back and got the ending!

I liked the bike movement, would have been nice to have some direction. Game crashed when I talked to a person near one of the roads with a tent.

Developer

Hmm I thought that it was somewhat clear, sorry about that!
You are a postman and you have to deliver the letters to correct addresses!
Read the dialogues and find out what people have to say, and hopefully it all becomes a bit more clear!
PS. you can check the addresses on the signs near houses.

Interesting game. It made me feel really anxious with the lack of music and just the sort of ambient wind and bike sounds. I found one of the random letters on the ground and delivered it but couldn't figure out what to do with the hospital one. Game gives me creepy vibes and hints at more going on. Not sure if that's the case but that's how I felt!

Developer

That's exactly the case!
There is underlying story that you may uncover, and once you reach the "True ending" you'll know ;)

Submitted

Hrmmm I may have to give it a 2nd go then. I knew it gave me those vibes I just wasn't sure!

It crashed when I delivered the Cocksworth st. 3 letter I picked up from the ground :/, but I liked the dialogue and chill gameplay, will try again later.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you like it!
And that crash... unfortunately it happens randomly
We found it last minute and spent 3 hours trying to resolve it, we really went mad towards the end "^^
