Oh, RPG Maker! This was a really cool game, with some quite unique mechanics. The way the player is pushed to try the skills was nice (thanks, slime alpha). The dialog was fun, with all the references, but also sad at the same time. Great game!
RPG MAKER YEAH!
after reading some of these comments, had to double check to make sure i played the right game lol. interesting battle mechanics :)
Just as goofy as it is sad, RPG Maker games are my weakness and I love them with all my heart, very based!
What an awesome RPG, I enjoyed the huge variety of moves that Neuro has. Evil keeps healing herself was pretty annoying, but good boss fight
I'm not good at turn-based rpgs, but game is really cool. Good work!
Great story and combat.
Great work on introducing such indepth combat mechanic within a few encounters
Cool battle mechanics. The final boss took me a few tries but it was very satisfying when I beat it. The story was so sad though. :(
I cannot defeat Evil. She keeps using the Counter Heal, and I run out of battery in a few rounds.
You need to burst with either phase 2 + Lock-on + Final attack or Overclock mode + Overdrive Hyper, otherwise yeah she heals too much.
I haven't made enough enemies to beat to learn the gameplay enough.
Thanks for having played the game!
Thanks for the advice. I tried Lock-on + Filtered and defeated evil one-hit. The other way hasn’t succeeded yet.
This is my favorite game from this jam gameplay-wise. I probably spent close to an hour completing this game partly because of my stupidity, but the game loop is super satisfying.
Gotta say, Cyber Slime Alpha is the hardest boss in the game because it's the first encounter that actually checks if you can use the mechanics properly. It took me to my fifth attempt to realize that I had batteries which is probably why. I kept hitting 0 Juice after reaching Phase 2, and sapping juice was only enough to sustain health.
From there the game is super satisfying, fighting mechanics are just very rewarding. The Juice and Heat combos are really clever and I love the way you have to manage resources! I also like that Evil uses the same system, it would be cool if all enemies had the resources and the game leaned into tampering with their meters as well. I wish I could fight the mosquito. Also D: Neuro is heartless.
A full neuro themed turn based RPG? I'm half tempted to try and complete this lol
Great submission
Awesome, hope Vedal gets to play this
RPG Maker classic
incredible story and insane gameplay
