Probably one of my favorite entries so far based solely on how much I enjoyed it. But, I do particularly like these sort of platformers.

The main mechanic is clever and very well implemented. The level design makes good use of it.

The lines between pixels and the screen transitions are very nice touches and make it feel like a real Nokia game.

My only critique is that visually some of the elements are confusing at times, just because they're so simple. The player doesn't look very distinct, and at one point it was difficult to tell which way the spikes were facing. Overall, though, it was never a big deal and didn't really affect my enjoyment of the game.

Great job, keep it up!

Thank you so much for all your kind word, and your critiques especially!

The spikes is something I was kind of worried about, since there were places where they indeed were hard to properly identify which side they were on.

But most importantly, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Excellent implementation of the theme!

Switching gravity and foreground/background is a really good catch.

Man this is awesome. When I saw this it reminded my of a psp game I used to play. So got some nostalgia points out of me for that (even though it probably wasn't intentional). Dope game all around! I was able to see my character clearly and the levels were tough. That last level was a doozee.

Probably my favorite game so far! Very inventive use of the theme and made me think. Great puzzle game.

Straightforward implementation of the on/off theme. Love the level design

Great concept and level design. The use of color restrictions of the Nokia as a gameplay mechanic is pretty great, makes the jam more unique with its restrictions. I feel like you even could've squeezed a bit more out of it.

Overall great game!

Developer

I agree  with you, I'm planning to do a post jam update, even though it's not gonna be a huge thing, probably.

Also, thank you so much for your kind words! :)

Great game! Had fun playing it, transitions between levels were really smooth, concept is good, only 2 issues i had with it were that i wish i could have moved in mid air while im jumping, and not having to press the 2 arrow keys at once, and that the player was a bit more visible since i often got confused on where the player was, other then those tiny issues which don't change a lot, good game!

Developer

Thank you so much!

However, I don't quite understand what you mean by moving the character mid-air, and now holding two arrows. Do you mean holding the jump button and the direction in which you are going?

Submitted

basically yeah, that you would press jump first then you would be able to press the right/left arrow key to make the player jump in that direction or at the top of his jump to move in that direction, while in the game i had to press the jump and the arrow key in the same time in order to jump towards in a certain direction

Developer

I think that is how my movement works.
Unless there was a serious bug, you should be able to even switch directions mid-air.

Maybe my timing was just off, but from what i've seen i couldn't get it to quite work

One really great game. I have played a game like this in browser so and it was so much fun.

Your game adds the block that always stay, no matter which side/color you are on. Level desing is really clever I think and movement is precise.

I like how you overcome the problem with only 2 colors and work around that. And I love the transition between levels.

Really fun game

Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed playing it! :)

That was a lot of fun! The dimension-shifting mechanic is implemented well, and it makes a lot of sense with the strict two-colour setup. Plus, bonus points for using Godot :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you!

The nice thing about using Godot is the bonus points. :P
