Description
Genres: Atmospheric, Lo-fi, Experimental

If Graveyard on Banki Village existed it would probably be simple with top-down interactive story with some horror elements.

The main character would be Gravekepper who wants to find the truth about a recently deceased girl named Agatha. Throughout the game player would have limited time to discover new informations about Agatha's past by his paranormal abillity to see the memories of ghosts on the graveyard while at the same time doing his duties.

I've wanted soundtrack to be minimalistic but also feeling atmospheric and unnerving in some way. I think at least half of the tracks nailed it kinda well and wow I actually had fun making it :)

Made in Free version of Fl Studio 20.

Message from the artist:
I love Neil Cicirega

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
I don't think it's fit the theme exacly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I've wanted some tracks to have feel of time. For example, Young love I think feels like nostalgic "good times" you spend in your childhood.

This is a very cool OST, excellent soundscapes and atmosphere!

Thanks Thanks Thanks

Interesting OST. I don't honestly know what to think about Time Will Find You sound. It's really strange sound, creepy, haunting and goes really well with the included visual art. I find the sound annoying and great at the same time :D Overall very atmospheric music perfectly portraing horror theme. Good job! :)

Definitelly one of the most original submissions here!

Developer (1 edit)

If something in OST sounds strange to you, ye that's probably intentional. Thanks ;)

This soundtrack has, I think, the most threatening aura of any that I've seen as of yet. The fact that you didn't include any descriptions to each track makes me even more anxious just thinking about the implications to some of these song titles.

"Time Will Find You" is a great opener here and sets the mood of the rest of the soundtrack perfectly. It's threatening and powerful, inspiring a sense of worry at the impending doom of being found.

There's a knocking sound that is prevalent in "God's Home" and "Bar Under the Dead Dog" - it's uncomfortable in a strange way; I don't know if that was intentional or not but it works really well with the vibe of the soundtrack.

"Kiss For Goodbye" leads you to believe it's going to be a bittersweet piece, then takes a hard right turn and becomes straight up unsettling. The fact that it's followed by "Worms In My Body" would lead me to believe it was a rather unpleasant kiss.

You certainly nailed the horror elements in this soundtrack. Overall, it was a ride that I do not want to ever go on again. 10/10, nice work.

I love your interpretation :) Thanks man!

Oh and I've wanted God's Home to be mystic, friendly but at the same time anxious in some way. I have an Atheist friend and we jokes about that she's afraid of our church and that was my inspiration for this track. And I must say... putting Kiss For Goodbye and Worms In My Body next to each other wasn't intentional.

First of all, I respect usage of trial version. Second of all, I respect the creativity of this soundtrack. Third of all, somewhy it makes me feel comfortable. Like I'm in the place where I perfectly fit in, even if it is rotten in all its parts and even if there's literally nothing good happening. It also reminds me of OFF. A bit creepy, somewhat groovy, very surreal, with cool sound design and rhythmical decisions. I especially like the murky and grim yet bangin' vibe of "God Home, Everyone Is Welcome", the dissonance of "Melody For My Soul", the mind-crumblingness of "Worms In My Body". The only thing I don't like is the fact I could cry to "Kiss For Goodbye".

Overall this is one of my favorite submissions to this jam, along with "Hourglass of Twilight" and "COUNTDOWN SHOWDOWN".

Developer (1 edit)

Wow my music actually can make people cry...

I'm RAD that you had the vibes that I've wanted to include in each track :D And yes, In some point it's inspired by OFF OST. I think that God's Home is my closest recreation of Conrad Coldwood's Music. And I've made Kiss For Goodbye after I listened to Deperately Safe

Love you man ;*

That's really something very arthouse. Can't say really like such kind of music, but why the hell not)

Developer

I don't fully understand, but thanks I guess

And here I thought I'd written a horror soundtrack, this is a Horror Soundtrack. This is also very nearly the Most Unhinged entry in the jam (top spot goes to NeatNeet's "Clocks... The Soundtrack!" there, but this is a close second) this is also one of the very few soundtracks in the jam where if it was actually playing during a game, I would either (a) immediately return it, fearing it was cursed or (b) crank it up. 50/50.

Developer

Ma God, Thanks Man, It really means to me a lot <3

Definitely one of the weirdest entries I've heard so far, yet one of the best ones. I want to compliment for experimenting and doing something different :)

I'm getting some Burial vibes in some tracks, but maybe that's because of the title haha
I can't picture how "Young Love" fits in the OST, but the rest is pretty solid. Under The Dead Dog is my favorite.
Worms in my body is so accurate that it makes me uneasy :D

Developer(+1)

I like when my art is different from other pieces, so I'm glad to hear that. Thanks lad :)

i'm super impressed how you managed to write so much music in such little time! it was super atmospheric and unsettling, really well done :)))

Developer

You nailed it too. Thanks

Submitted(+1)

SUPER DUPER COOL DARK VIBES. Legit nailed it for what you described, send this over to Ill-Advised Record or something haha. The only critique would be that there's a piercing frequency in the bell instrument and the beginning of the last track, could push it down with an EQ.

(also, free version of FL? I want to say both "impressive" and "EWW-")

Developer (1 edit)

Glad to hear that :D Also can you judge me? Fl Studio is expensive and I'm just a modest artist... And broke

Lmaoo, it was just satire don't read too much about it. Unless you're really accompanied to FL, I've heard from other producers that Reaper "Trial" version has virtually no limitations so might want to look into it whenever you feel like you need more track layers or versatility!

Developer(+1)

It was a joke and thanks. I know about Reaper and maybe one day I will try it

Submitted(+1)

Such a really cool theme and I read you made this with the free version of fl studio 20. Props to you!!

Developer(+1)

That limitations in Free version brings my creativity to life, and thanks :*

I love the percussive elements in Shh, very cool. Young Love is my favorite for sure, such a cool lo-fi vibe. Great work!
