Description
The game is an adventure puzzle game about exploring the inner workings of a child's imagination. More detail on the game and songs can be found on the project page though, so please check it out!

The OST is mainly orchestral inspired with varying ensembles used throughout. I composed everything in Dorico using samples from East West Hollywood Orchestra and the occasional sample from the Composer Cloud package. Everything was then mixed and mastered in FL Studio
Message from the artist
This was my first time joining one of the OST Composing Jams and it was a blast! It took a lot of time and effort to get something out this fast but it was a seriously satisfying experience.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
Connecting the picture and text prompts together, one of my first ideas was having the game be about exploration and creativity. I thought of no better way to do that than by literally exploring a child's imagination!

Really really good composing here actually, lots of really nice textures and use of your instruments. Is that Vienna Symphonic Library by the way, I think I recognise it! Awesome work man, keep it up!
Rating Submissions With Few Ratings To Hopefully Get Some In Return
I really enjoyed the intimate orchestral feel, reminding me of movies from the 80s and 90s with maybe just a tad too much whimsy in them. You adapt your sound well to different situations in your game, particularly Hippocampus Crossing stood out positively, as it managed to feel heavier without being threatening, particularly through the use of marimba. Very, very good first game jam submission. Impressive!
Noodle is just a silly little guy with a cute soundtrack. I love it!
Great job for this first composing jam! I liked your orchestration and the story behind all the tracks!
I always like a good marimba!
What a lovely submission. The orchestration was put together pretty well! My favorite track has to be Hippocampus Crossing. The vibe created was right up my alley.
Overall, very solid submission. Keep up the good work!
I like how different these tracks are, but you can definitely tell that are made for the same game! You did a great job tying them together while keeping them interesting in various ways!
Very nice variety in tracks, and some very cute melodies. A lot of the tracks had me feeling like it was an Animal Crossing style game (which I wasn't sure if you were alluding to with the name lol).
Love the skippy feel you have got going on in the pizzicato strings on the first track! A beautiful soundscape you created in Hippocampus Crossing, I'm a big fan of the underlying strings and the glockenspiel, beautiful! Dread is a lovely juxtaposition compared to the 'uppity' fun of the first two tracks, I like it a lot. A lovely display of a consistent theme and flexibility in your composition abilities. Well done!!
Love how cohesive and fun this submission is! The art is also so cute, just really solid overall. I can’t even pick a favorite track, it’s all great! Excellent work!
Aw thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very cohesive and well mixed. Hippocampus Crossing was my favorite (also great name)
Thank you for the kind words! Very glad you enjoyed Hippocampus Crossing
I've never been attached to a fake puzzle game before, but I love your Ending Theme! The rest of the track is amazing, though I think a touch of reverb on the piano at the beginning could enhance it. Just my opinion. Consider me inspired!
Thank you so much! I was so torn on the ending theme but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This is a very orchestral submission, which makes it feel more cinematic.
I like the piano (or the harp?) on Hippocampus Camping, blends well with the song.
Dread fits well for the track name since it's scary but the piano makes it uplifting.
The mixing on the second track could be better (the bass could be lowered) but a nice enough track.
The Ending Theme is nice, I think just the first part is enough, even if the second part is also good.
Nice work!
Thank you for the kind words! The feedback is much appreciated. It is indeed a harp on Hippocampus Crossing. The goal was to create to a kind of emotion-abstinent mood with these super spaced out quartal/quintal harmonies and I think it turned out well.
Delightful soundtrack, it reminded me a bit of a Joe Hisashi score from Studio Ghibli. It starts off light and whimsical and slowly tension is increased and it becomes much darker. By the time it reaches the ending theme, it returns to a more melancholic version of the main theme, and then builds into a full orchestral finale. Good use of leitmotifs and reharmonization to reference and build upon earlier tracks.
Mixing wise some sections are a little too wide, which is can cause problems on mono speakers. Orchestral libraries can be pretty wide out of the box so it's good to use something like Voxengo's Correlometer to monitor it, especially for lower frequencies.
Thank you for the kind words! Mixing is definitely my weakest skill so the feedback is much appreciated
I wanted to waltz to Amygdala...
The final theme is so joyful...the impression of all the songs is on top!
You are very good at orchestration)
Glad you enjoyed it and tysm!! Playing with orchestration and experimenting with textures is really fun
Really enjoyed this! You took the theme in a fun direction.
Thanks Mel!!
I LOVE the composition here and these are all perfect for a puzzle game. You nailed it on that front! (Though if I heard Dread when I was 8, I might have nightmares.)
My only critique would be that I'd like each instrument to pop out more. Making space and panning should help. Esp with the pizzicato strings, I feel like they should be front and center carrying the melody. You could try parallel compression, sidechaining, or even a transient shaper if you're feeling adventurous haha.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it. Production isn't a very strong skill of mine so I just kind of just played around until it was acceptable lol. I'll keep all that in mind
No problemo. It took time for me as well to even get decent haha.
