Description
Genre: Multi-genre, orchestral.
Kind of game: a RPG game kind of like OMORI. About moving on with your life after a traumatizing event.

Menu loop: everything was great before the incident.

First song: "Wah" (represent disbelief). Used dissonance and fast tempo to make it hard to listen to, odd (like a reaction to a shocking event).

Second song: "Uoyetahi" (represent angry). Multi-genre (I don't even know which genres are in this song). Fast tempo, weird harmony to make it match the angry phase.

Third song: "Druck" (represent depression and bargaining). Low pitch, slow tempo for depression. It goes faster at the end and some dissonance for bargaining.

Fourth song: "Continuum" (represent acceptance). Used the menu loop as the main theme here so it feels like you have to continue.

I always start with main melodies for each sections first (decided to make it in a form of variations because I don't really have much time) and then I harmonize it. Doesn't take that long once you already have ideas and melodies.

I used MuseScore for this (I should have used FL Studio for "Uoyetahi").

Message from the artist
This is like my 2nd time seriously trying to compose something so any advice or criticism would be greatly appreciated.
I ran out of time ;-;
I suggest making the jam a little bit longer (probably around 2 weeks).

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
I approached this in the most obvious way: What is going on inside my mind?

I'm a huge Tuyu fan, but recently Pusu (the composer/guitarist of the band) committed a quite severe crime (read the submission description for more info).

This is devastating for me because I love their songs a lot. I might not even be here to submit this.

Fast forward to this jam, when I first see the theme, I know for sure I want to compose about my experience.

Good... It was a very risky experiment...

and you made a very unique soundtrack! Of course, at some points it was UNEXPECTEDLY loud... Heh)

Overall, I liked the presentation and variety of madness. You never know what kind of surprise the composer will prepare in the next second of the track...

Thank you!

I really like how some parts of this just make no sense, like the piano in a Wah just playing really fast, the velocity changing without warning. I feel like in any other context I'd really dislike these creative choices but you make it work! There are some serious volume issues as others have pointed out, but this is still a good entry.

Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!

Uoyetahi had a lot of clipping and it really kind of hurt my ears 😔

Trying to avoid clipping with limiters would help a lot for all of the pieces

Very creative. The glitchy piano was so interesting to hear and made for an eerie feeling while listening. I'll have to say Wah is my favorite since it caught me off guard the most.

Overall, very creative submission. Keep it up!

Coolest thing about this is the use of extremely glitchy midi compositions. Very experimental and unique. Production quality isn't stellar but you're on the right track! Good work

I enjoyed druck the most because it spoke to my classical roots.  The variety in all the tracks was impressive.  Have to defend my fellow raw-makers because coming into itch for the first time doing manual keyboard performances i'm getting bonked a little bit by the people who do more regimented sequencing.   Good show on this one!

This is...something else. It's very avantgarde and kinda...raw as hell. There's a LOT of clipping, especially in Uoyetahi, which you can eliminate with something like LoudMax.

Still though, there's potential in this wacky borderline-black-midi style you've got going on. I can imagine this in some kinda esoteric Finnish FPS game. Think Cruelty Squad, but way weirder.

Keep it up.

Thank you a lot. I will definitely try that plugin.

randomly commenting in someone else's submission comments! i'm always looking for how to eliminate some of the abrupt-cut clip noises in my soundcloud tracks i'll have to give Loudmax a try.  Glad to have seen this by-chance

Nice to see another person with a bit of a darker submission in contrast to all the other ones. I can feel the Omori inspiration. I also love the instrumentals on continuum, and it also seems that we have similar naming conventions when it comes to menu themes! How intriguing, Menu Dream and Menu Loop lol. Anyways, I think this is a nice soundtrack overall. Good Luck!!!

Thank you a lot for your kind words. Good luck!

As your second project it's actually pretty cute. I think the fact that you're still learning made this OST pretty much avangarde, which is not bad. Well, mixing is a bit messy, but hey I started with practicly no mixing heh, you'll get that soon. I really like those kinda j-pop guitars in Uoyetahi. If you'll work on it a bit, it actually sounds like Omori! But at the same time I think sections with these like sudden bursts of anger need to have a bit more structure. You can just like punch your midi or keyboard to have chaotic sections, but they need a bit more structure. I personally do this sorts of sections in a like of for example Caravan Palace, thier songs have those a bit chaotic eclectic sound to them. Also Druck is actually epic. Even tho quality is a bit messy, one day maybe you will become Bo En or will work on a Fangame ^^ I'll be waiting for a remaster
