Description
"True Altrusitic Nature" is a game inspired manly by Danganronpa series. OST is made of Experimental, Ambient, and maybe Electronic music, made in Free Version of Fl Studio [again becouse my full version expanded lol] and glued together in Reaper.

You're a teenager, who doesn't really like thier real name so everybody used to call you by your nickname "Brykiet". Your life was questionable at best, at least you used to think in that way. Mental health problems, abuse at school, relationships falling apart. But it doesn't matter now.

You just woke up in your flat. Outside of your window is never ending sunset and a small playground with Kiosk nearby. You were living in Eastern Europe so this sorts of places are nothing new to you. Between your legs is a pretty nice looking notebook with a few stickers. Without any hesitations you just opened it. On the first page there is something written on it.

"Heya Brykiet ^^ We're sorry to say it to you but well, you're dying." You're in place conecting two places, life and afterlife. You only have 7 days in your head to... to do what? Say goodby to all your loved ones? Accept your fate? Nuh uh. The notebook tells you to do something worse. At the same block you're there are all of your ex partners. You need to choose one, to replace you in afterlife. If you want to live, you need to sacrifice one of your ex lovers. "I wonder who it's gonna be..."

TAN Is a mix of psychological horror, existential horror and visual novel with surreal elements. Filled to the brim with dark humur balanced with dark subjects and story. Thru out the game notebook tells you to meet with your ex partners in your conected dreams and wrtie informations about then in it. You have 7 days in your head to make your decision, at the last day you need to choose. But... you can only spend time with max two people at one day. And how many ex's do you have? Well, Agatha, Margo, Krystian, Russel and June... It's just unfair. This whole situation is just so goddamn cruel.

Message from the artist
I hope this year it will be better.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
You as a player need to connect with the main character, you need to feel uncomfortable with her. She's in very confusing world of her own imagination, in spiritual world of her dreams.
Her mind can't stand the thought of dying, so her world of dreams is filled with chaos, selfish thoughts of sacrificing one of person she loved, and uncomfortable music of course.
Nobody said that everyone's world is a beautiful and peaceful place ;>

What a wild concept! I love the take on the theme here, very different from most of the others I've seen. Things start off pretty unsettling, in a way that I would say is pretty consistent with the title of the first track. "Fanservice Heaven" switches things up and quickly takes a turn into a land of wild electronica left to do as it pleases; the chaos here is very well-executed and was a fun ride! (I have to say that I really had no idea what to expect looking at the preview of your waveform for this track on Soundcloud, ahahaha)

Your sound design is incredibly unique and does a great job of capturing the sort of... miserable? vibes that you had described in the story. Once again, I'm left wondering what to expect as I watch the  waveform on "True Altruism" slowly build up to it's climax. I half expected a gunshot halfway through.

That was a unique, wild and somewhat uncomfortable ride.... but in a good way. Great job!

All went according to the plan... Thank you ^^

Honestly? This is my favorite cover art in this jam)

I really liked your soundtrack, heh… It sounds very original!

Have you ever considered not going to Heaven - ...and what a contrast between the cover art and the soundtrack itself... This track has very strong vibes like Quake... "I feel like death itself wants to get to me... Is that her screeching? Very lousy. I'm scared... Help..."

Fanservice Heaven - "I remember something a little bit... Funny? I think I understand that I need to remember something good about these people... So you... AH... Or you... OUCH... Okay, I'd better just think about it a little bit. Here you are - you smell very strongly of your old perfume. And you're still the same old yourself... OUCH!"

I'm Feeling Uncomfortable - "I don't understand a bit... Why? Is there at least some logical explanation for everything that is happening now? There are billions of people, and they are all living happily now...

- Until they die

- That's right

- Give them a chance?

- I can only give them a chance... How many are there?

- One

- ONE?!

- That's right, I lied to you a little. And you can only remember two people a day. Except for the names. You will always remember them. Always... Always...

- Until I die?

- Until you die

- It sucks...

And again for the choice. Why? So, I think your name is June... Who are you? OUCH, why do you smell like bare wires? How old are you? Thirty? Are you young? Do you have a chance?

- You only have one

-Shut up."

True Altruism ;> "

- I made a choice... It's you. Thank you.

- Yes

-Yes... what?

- Yes

- Are you crazy? Is there anything you can answer? Did I remember you in vain? Have you been wasting your time? Did I throw everyone else out for nothing?

- Yes

-...

-Yes

- Am I crazy?

- Yes

-Thank you

-Yes"

I love concept of interpretations, especially when someone gives me look on themselfs as a human. I think you took a notebook a bit disrespectfully. They would never repeat themself and always have something to say and to mock you about. Regardless, Big love <3

Heh... Sorry)

Don't worry, they won't take it personal ^^

Excellent work! I love the instruments you chose to use, this’d fit perfectly in the game you described. Would totally play it if it were real.

Yay, thanks guys  o(≧∀≦)o

This soundtrack is giving me creepy pasta newgrounds vibes, definitely fits your game idea which I thought was cool.

But yeah, felt uneasy the whole time listening to this which would really aid in a game like this. So great job!

Developer

Now when I'm  listening ones more to it, maybe I went too far with these uncomfy vibes? If I will ever do remake or actuall ost for this game, I would definitely choose a few more chill songs becouse player will have a headache after constant listetning to these ;p

A super neat game idea!

My favorite bit was the part in the second track with the synths!

Hella' creative submission! I am an enjoyer of strange experimental sound (seriously, if some of the stuff I listen to ended up on a party playlist, people would think the alien abduction has begun or the boxes are broken). So thanks for making this and scratching that itch :D!

I'm here for all my experimental homies. I love to scare itch.io :>

Really nice work on the drones in "Have you ever considered not going to Heaven?". Also loved the variety in the break chopping in Fanservice Heaven.

This is super cool, it almost feels like it has a tongue in cheek nature to it where it feels like the music is laughing at me and there is nothing I can do about it. Which i like a lot! Based on the story you wrote I think you entirely nailed it with these pieces and I think playing a game with all these pieces together would make me truly uncomfortable in a very good way.

Developer

FunFact : This "Puhuhu" laugh in Fanservice Heaven is from Danganronpa, and the screaming loop is from one scene from niche cartoon when popular girls are making fun of the main character by saying "LOSEEEER AHAHA" but in Polish of course. So ye, they're literally laughing at you

The horror game ambience in the first track is very nice, and its presence really serves to amplify the uncanny nature of the second track. I love how the drum chops at the start of "fanservice heaven" emulate the janky audio loops found in old flash games before transitioning into a beat that manages to carry on the uncanny horror vibes while somehow still being catchy. The effects on "I'm feeling uncomfortable" take the unsettling undertones to their natural extreme, and I can definitely hear the Danganronpa influence shining through on "True Altruism". It seems like you've put a lot of thought into Brykiet as a character, and that attention to detail really shines through in this soundtrack. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

I think Danganronpa overall changed my music for the better, even tho I learned about this series this year lol. Brykiet is partially based on a few of my friends so maybe that's the reason why she seems well thought out.

Wow, this is a creative entry. The sparse, glitchy ambience creates a unique mood. Somewhat unsettling but not entirely --the beats get me bobbing. Thanks for sharing.

I can see this game getting extremely dark with the ability to make the player feel terrible. This is a good thing. The soundtrack, with its heavy use of editing and dark instrumentation fits the vibe perfectly. I can imagine the game and what might be going on while listening to each track. I’d love to see this theoretical game become reality!

Tbh I would like it to happen ^^ It's actually on my list of games that I want to make but it's pretty big. I really want to put a lot of effort to these games but as you can see my past games are not very well made. One day, visual novels are pretty nice to make but the most difficult parts would be writing story and putting it together, and I overthink this part A LOT. Also my gramar. I need to learn both Polish and English more hihi
