Description
"alone with my thoughts" is a platformer game about saving a very dear friend. As you dream in the uncomfy sofa that's on her hospital room, you get a vision. Could it be that you did indeed get inside her mind, and that you can save her from her coma...? She's imprisoned on the tower of thoughts, or so the vision says. Determined, even if it seems crazy, you decide to enter her mind, feel her pain, to let her know that she's *not* alone with her thoughts.

The genre of the soundtrack is electronic music, though it's somewhat experimental! At least I experimented plenty making it, haha. I wish I had time to experiment with 24-TET, but oh well. At least I managed to submit in time!
This would be the first time I'm posting a finished work since the previous RMX Jam, these are great to get stuff done! ^^

Notes:
- I'm usually not a fan of "lower case" titles and the like, but I used it this time for aesthetic effect. Maybe I'll have a change of heart when it comes to that!
- I'm leaving the soundtrack up to interpretation, since the main motif is obvious, haha (it really is!). I guess it's slightly lazy on my part, but I've always preferred works where the one consuming the art makes their own vision of the work, rather than just being told what it means. Sorry if this seems lazy (and tbf, I *don't* have time rn to add it in, haha).
- I almost forgot! The cover art was made by Bing AI. Hopefully I don't need to edit my submission again ^^;

[I have a feeling everyone will do a similar "inside x person's head" haha]

Message from the artist

My favorite one was pouring adrenaline! It was just the most fun to me! It reminded me of Monkey Ball a bit which I like.

"It's going to be an exciting adventure into someone's hell... filled with emotions, hatred and dynamics. Are you ready? Are you ready to hear the story of a man who wants to destroy everyone who dares to enter his domain? It's HER mind, and there's madness going on. Pure madness..."

welcome to my personal hell - Heh, I was surprised by this composition. She is dynamic, sets an interesting tone to the soundtrack and in general... "Welcome to my personal hell"

bygone days - Something is beeping here... classical instruments want to warn about something... Then comes the electronic era and THEIR melody, which perfectly emphasizes the peculiarity of the mind... The madness of this mind (Lol, why did this track remind me of late Muse songs...)

pouring adrenaline - "The mind is aggressive. An adrenaline rush comes every time someone invades her domain. Do you remember when I said that the owner doesn't like uninvited guests? And so... It seems that he disliked you even before your visit"

decaying tower of thoughts - "We are on the way to the acid tower... It's dangerous here and... be careful. SHE's trapped in a tower. But that doesn't mean he won't want to exterminate you. It seems that he is already trying to do this... I'll give you just one piece of advice: BEWARE OF ACID"

hope for a brighter tomorrow - "Congratulations! You... Doesn't she hate you? Then what was it? A test? Faith? Anyway... how?

How could you do that? Did she threaten you? Who are you?"

at the end of the day - "Sometimes it seems to people that the most terrible madness that can exist is madness in our head. In fact, this is not the case...

True madness and loss are inextricably linked to our real world and at the end of every day filled with madness, we reap the fruits in our nightmares. For some, they are filled with shadows, for others, nightmares are emptiness and nothingness... and your nightmares and hers are pure experimental madness...

try taking pills. Otherwise, you will never be able to live in any world except the one where HER fears live. Just watch out..."

***

A very interesting, experimental and beautiful publication... I definitely liked it! A masterful combination of simple orchestral melodies and electro music... This is an unforgettable effect!

Definitely one of the most memorable works of this jam!

Great soundtrack all around!  I enjoyed "Welcome to my Personal Hell" and "Decaying Tower of Thoughts" the most.

the first track already gives that feeling of entering something that you know is just wrong. some of the music also slaps in the way that it gives me the feeling of something you'd hear in speed run 4 on roblox or something. i really liked hope for a brighter tomorrow a lot, it's very pretty!

Absolutely loved "pouring adrenaline". I think a break-core beat would've gone crazy on it. This was a very creative submission, both with the sound design and game idea. Awesome work!

Very interesting listen! Decaying Tower of Thoughts was my favorite.

Loving the unexpected contrast between happy xylophonesque beginning and industrial heavy synth attacks. "Welcome to my hell" is a blast, setting the tone for the battle, and I am enjoying a lot "Bygone days" buildup and bass sweeping synths selection. A lot of energy here.

I feel personally targeted because I love wide synths that shred through the treble range. Bygone days was a really strong track for me. Nicely done!
