  • Good game all around! Only issue I ran into is the game allows itself to get so crowded with enemies that it begins to lag the game pretty harshly. Other than that, it was very good! I really appreciated the addition of a tutorial mini-game that takes the player through the mechanics, spells out the story, and leads them on their way. Good use of the theme too! Good job!

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
The player is sent by their alien overlords to an unknown, grayscale world with one objective in mind: Spread Color Everywhere. They must meet certain quotas before the time limits to avoid being vaporized for being inefficient.

Every time a quota is met, the player can choose between several options that include new weapons, upgrades, buffs, etc. to increase overall efficiency.

During gameplay, enemy units will come to try to stop the player’s efforts. If the player defeats any unit using color, they will be converted to the player’s cause and can be absorbed for extra health.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

I really enjoyed this game. It is the first one ever I play from a game Jam and I must say you set the bar extremely high.
The gameplay was very very fun, the visuals too and I super duper liked the music. Lovely game, thank you for making it.

Awesome tutorial !
Graphics are simple but very consistent and remind me a little of Space Invaders :)

Too many enemies and I am not good enough at thoses types of games but I enjoyed it ! Great job !

Very nice work. Can't wait to see what else you make, very clean, very polished. Tute was awesome...Congrats on your first one....

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and enjoying the tutorial! Glad you liked it!

That tutorial was fantastic! I think all this game needed was some SFX for the bullets and maybe two or three more character variations. Really fun and great music!!!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! And yes, you're absolutely right about the SFX. I left it at the end of my dev tracker and, when I got to it, I couldn't really make a sound effect that I liked so I decided to leave the game as is. However, I will definitely work on that for the future. Thanks!

this is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen, great job! really enjoyed the gameplay as well, the work put into the small details really made the game original and fun. such a nice entry!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game and for your kind words about the tutorial! I really appreciate it!

Well done on completing your game! Fully playable and understandable. I liked the near pass mechanic - that felt very original and rewarding. Enemies are a bit too small. With the changes in color and this low res style, its hard for my eyes to keep track of them.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and for the feedback! You're absolutely right, I couldn't seem to find the perfect balance for enemy size but I will keep working on it for the future.

Very impressive gameplay! I think it is a little bit too hard for me, almost got to 25k 3 times but always died before it :D I liked the music and artstyle, it worked like a charm :)

Developer(+1)

Oof sorry to hear that but thanks for playing and enjoying! If you feel like playing again, I added a small "tips" section in the game screen to help players reach the later rounds (and some cool upgrades and items!)

This is great!! I love the core gameplay loop and the way that killing the enemies actually lets you use activated abilities to heal/do more damage. The team and I had a great time playing your game!

Thank you for your comment! Glad you liked the game and its mechanics! I also really enjoyed Necromancer! Bringing back dead enemies was an awesome idea!

Wow, I loved it! The first 3 tries I did not manage to get to 25k and died but the 4th I manage and discovered the upgrade and it impressed me very much. Love that there is no wall that you can just go one way forever. Very charming with its simplicity.

Great work man!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you made it to the second round! And thanks for the feedback. I added some general tips in the game page to hopefully get more people to the later rounds!
