- Honestly I SUPER enjoyed the game, the mechanics, the music, the feeling of the gunplay, the backstory. The only thing that was off about it was the superficial themeing, yes the shadows and the alchemy were in the backstory and the monsters are shadowy. But there is no mechanical gameplay aspect that relates to these things. This is a great game, but not a great game jam game, good work though!

Extra Notes
A few things would be great to add, but lack of time. A dash and/or a little better at balancing.

Really juicy and polished game, its impressive how it was all made in under 2 weeks! The story was interesting, and the art style was mostly consistent. Also is it me or sometimes dialogues (reading the notes) cannot be dismissed unless I go through one of those transitions?
Fantastic game! Pixel art is great, the layers of visual effects and sounds really make this game fun to play. You did so much in two weeks! My game had a similar play style, but it took me so long to figure everything out that I didn't nearly have as much polish that you have. Well done! This a great game that I'd love to see more of.
The shooting felt very satisfying, nice amount of juice. I liked the graphics a lot in general. I also had the bug where dialogue boxes wouldn't close sometimes, but it didn't affect my enjoyment. Great game!
Very nice, with a lot of polish for two weeks. The boss was very difficult. I ran into a strange bug where the camera seemed to jitter until the first shot was fired upon respawn. Good job!
The lighting and combat are fantastic! I'm not sure if it is a bug, but I found it hard to get out of dialog without shooting. BRB gonna go unlock the shotgun!
Followup: Dangit, the final boss fight broke my cursor and it stayed broken even after a desktop restart. Had to fiddle with the plug to fix. The fight was hype though.
Dude! Sorry for your cursor. I was looking into a continuous press for the shoot function, but I was not sure with the ammo. But by the time I took a decision, I had to submit XD
Happy you liked it!!
No worries, had a good time and the issue was easily fixed on my side. I know how it feels to make decisions up to the 12th hour.
Wow, just wow. I loved the narrative, even when I didn't read all the notes on the ground. There was a story that touched me. The music fits perfectly. I liked the controls, even if I had to click my mouse a lot of times :D. After the first boss, I basically bought the grenade launcher and just bought lots of ammo. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the grenade launcher but on the other two boss fights it was very laggy. Sometimes like 5 FPS. Also sometimes I couldn't close the dialog.
Thanks for you feedback.
Glad you liked the story and yes the Grenade launcher is pretty over powered XD. Next iteration, will be a little more balanced hopefully.
Definitely I will look into that FPS thing, since it is the second time I get this feedback.
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Very polished! Great art, great design! What I liked most was the dynamic fog of war in the dungeons! Really added to the shadowy vibe. The controls were clear, although I would've liked to be able to switch weapons with my number keys like in many shooters. I would also have liked that the game would pause when opening up a letter, because now I kept being pounded when trying to read your story. I played the swamp and the forest dungeons, after which my game sadly crashed. Maybe it could be because of the great amount of projectiles they fired off. Each time they would do an attack I'd be flung around the arena with 2 fps. Furthermore, maybe you could incorporate walls or fog in those fights to also be able to play with the fog of war in the bossfights!
All in all a very good designed game. I was interested in the story and the letters were a great addition to give incentive to clear the whole floor. Just a fun dungeon crawl!
Thanks for your feedback man! Really weird about the FPS, I did not experienced anything like that. I will try to tone the bullet hell down maybe?
I agree with the letters. I just did not think of it and the switching of weapons, definitely something I'm going to add in the final release (after the jam). I'm still working on it, adding a little more lore, guns and enemies I did not get to add.
Thanks man! really appreciate it!
Looking forward to see you in the steam store!
