8945 first try!!!!! this game has a surprising amount of depth and little skill advantages you can create for yourself i think its beautifully designed
no music! or sound FX! that honestly took the experience out. but minus that your missing a huge chunk of the game. what was available was very interesting! my own movement was my penalty! genius! it led me to carefully plan out where i would move. super intense! and the screen wrapped helped out. great job
absolutely loved this followup to the hit game Jetbox! I really wanted to be good at this game but my brain is too small lol. Still had a blast playing, best I could do was 805!
Solid game, wish I was better at it haha. The new additions are great and I really like the tension from drifting off the main box and waiting to get in the game. And the chaser enemy is also a good addition for tension. Top score 1765.
Great follow up to the original. The game is really polished, the new graphics and animations are stellar! Love the attention to detail.
I think the screen wrapping is really cool, but it took me a while to utilize it to my advantage, the first couple of rounds it didn't feel that nice that you lost control outside of the box. But once I got the hang of it, it added some nice strategic depth to the gameplay.
I don't really see the theme that clearly, but I love playing it regardless.
Jetbox feels like dog-fighting. It's fast and loose, with the constant satisfaction of skimming your deadly jetstream with tight, swooping turns.
Jetbox 2 feels like dancing. At first, I was disappointed that it was so much slower than the first game. But as I began to wrap my head around the new mechanics, I fell in love with it.
The slower movement is accompanied by a greater sense of momentum and friction. You can no longer turn on a dime. Instead, every movement is a carefully choreographed acrobatic tumble between obstacles. Each new mechanic adds complexity and difficulty but also gives the player more options and strategies.
The enemy ship pushes through and clears the jetstream in its path. The screen wrapping clears a bit of jetstream on the opposite screen edge and makes soft-locking collectibles almost impossible. The combo and no-hit bonuses rewards players for improvising a plan at the start of each level and executing it quickly. And the new death mechanic turns the ponderous waltz into a frantic tango, with one last chance to save your run.
It's beautiful. It's perfect. I was worried that any follow-up to the original would be bloated or disappointing, and I was wrong on both counts.
Thank you for your kind words, almost made me tear up
A simple game but with more gameplay depth that you would think at first sight. I can see the attention to detail and polish when it comes to giving you a bit of extra options like going "out of the box" and having some extra time when you bump into your own CO2 emissions. My usual strategy was circling from the edges gradually to the middle.
Pretty addicting game with good visual indicators / vfx for everything, got up to around 5000 eventually :D.
Interesting puzzler game :)
Fun! Made it to 1740. The controls feel nice. Unsurprisingly I agree with other folks on sound (but you're probably sick of hearing that!!) - I think my only other gripe is that I wish that I moved more quickly when I was in screen-wraparound mode. Sometimes I'd be stuck there for long enough that it'd kinda break me out of the zone.
But really nice! I'd gladly play a polished post-jam version :)
This game plays great, and has the potential to become a really addicting arcade game. However, and I know you've heard this already many times, without some music and sound effects, the very compelling game loop falls a little bit flat. I would love to see this game turned into a full game at some point, as it otherwise has a lot of potential
very fun! i like the screen wrap, i was able to use it to my advantage quite a bit. i agree about the sound effects.
I had fun! This felt like a cool take on the game Snake. Except, in this case the exhaust from your rock stays behind. Good job!
Super polished and creative, agree with the other comments that sfx would make this great!
this is a pretty cool game, though it really needs sfx!
JETBOX JETBOX JETBOX
I like it, but I would love some juicy sound effects to accompany the game.
I had sound effects on my todo list, but you know how you run out of time during jams😅 I will probably add them after rating period is over
The graphics are beautiful in their simplicity and the ship handles really well
