Nice game, didn't expect a silent entry to a rhythm game jam haha.
The UI actually feels very good, nice and clean. I also like that the stage of the musician gets filled with instruments as you progress. The progression system as a whole feels solid, and the fact that there's an in-game tutorial is a big plus! (Even if it's only some text, it still is way more than most game jam games have, plus for a "clicker" type of game that's totally fine and effective!).
The rhythm part of the game feels good (nice visual feedback for hits, solid timing bar), the silence makes it a bit hard though to be honest. I know it's part of the story, but I just wonder if the game could've been even better with sound and a different story? Although I have to admit the story is funny and unique concept. Great entry nevertheless!
Thank you for your honest feedback ^^
woah, this is like a mix between rhythm game, typing game and a clicker game. high points for creativity! too bad there's no audio - but perhaps that fits the game's title.
Thank you :)
the visuals were nice and clean. overall nice game!
Thank you :)
A unique idea, for sure!
I was not expecting a clicker game, and well it's technically not a clicker game, as you don't click.
The progression feels satisfying, as it is the rule for good clicker games. The style is minimalistic, but hey - it's consistently minimalistic and clean - I actually quite like it. Raising awareness for the deaf is just good. And you've finished all this solo, which is something to be proud of :)
Criticism-wise
It's absolutelly quiet, which is great within your narrative and message, but is also uncomfortable. There aren't really any visual effects either. It feels very empty. Since all the upgrades are for the passive income, the whole rhytm aspect as well as the different rewards, become less and less relevant as time goes on. I've got 20 notes, 20 drums and I just let the game sit there, make cash for me. After there is no point in actively playing, it just gets boring. Maybe an upgrade that boosts the reward for hitting a note would encourage more active approach :) Onto smaller things, the descriptions of the upgrades sometimes get cropped- for example flute gives an income of 2000, while in-game it says it gives 200. I imagine it just clips it after the 3rd number
Wow, this is great feedback, thank you!
If I ever were to extend the game, I'd definitely add some more visual effects. I wanted to go for a minimalistic style, but it is really really empty. Like you mentioned, I should probably add some more upgrades as well. About the flute: It does increment the reward for receiving money in general (so also for hitting a note ^^). Honestly, thank you for the great feedback :)
super cool idea, I feel the power of Beethoven flowing through me
That's great, thank you! :)
Very interesting idea! Love how it creates awareness for that specific topic. Feels a little bit repetitive over time.
Thanks! :) I agree, clicker game just become repetitive if there are as few features as in my game ^^
This is such a bold idea and to be honest, it has such huge potential! but still, the lack of sound makes it abit empty, I was anticipating sounds as soon as I began purchasing the instruments, I mean that would be cool! Like you went from hearing only single notes, drums, and then in the end.... you have a WHOLE orchestra music or a DJ house, that would be great!
Nevertheless, GREAT WORK!
Thanks for your feedback! :) I mean - you're deaf, so there really isn't any way you will begin to hear, unfortunately. But thank you for your great review ^^
haha you have a point there :) No problem!
I like the idea but I think it can work better. since we can't hear, we can use some visual elements to represent the beat, say when you buy some instruments, they will show around you, and they( and you ) will animate based on the beat. I think that would add some flavor to the game.
I think some bmg is still necessary, even some noise. or sometimes you can hear a clip of the music.
anyway I like the idea, keep going!
Hey! Great points you mentioned! There is the visual bar at the top, but I could've added some other elements, too. Instruments will eventually show up as a matter of fact :) Depends on how long one plays the game, of course ^^ Some muffled background noise is also a great idea!
I love the idea, a rhythm game without music, the whole lack of sound just made the game feel unfinished.
Yeah, definitely a bold idea for a rhythm game ^^ Thank you for your feedback
We thought this was a very interesting idea, good job! If you can, you can go play our game, we would appreciate it :)
Thank you! :) I will check it out!
Awsome Game !
Thank you :)
