This is just too good. 5 stars.

Minor nit, please add a health bar somewhere.

Developer

Thanks for the five stars! I've also added a health bar.

This is so fun! I love the visuals and the music of this game and the Rave premese was so fun! The art of this game is so fun and creative, I love that the light followes my cursor, and the character and the environment is really cool as well! I can see that a lot of time has been put into this game. Also I was jamming to the music so that's always a plus :DD I didn't really see where my health bar was so maybe that wasn't included into the game but that would have been really useful for me but overall the game was really fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you had fun! A health bar has been added.

I'll start by the criticism:
- I think the 'bullets' (drops from the ceiling, things coming from bellow, etc) tend to blend a bit too much with the platform which make them hard to differentiate. Also the fact that they're waving makes them super hard to predict.
- The telegraphs for the lasers and spikes are dark and blend in the black background making them really hard to perceive while being busy dodging stuff. The telegraphs with arrows are way more readable.
- A health bar would be great.
- Lastly, I think a double jump would be more relevant than a wall jump since it's usefull in only the second level.

Now, this game looks so cool omg! The patterns right on the beat, the visuals, the juiciness, the screen shakes, the lights, everything is awesome! The songs are dope and every section is nicely used to create new patterns to dodge. The polish is impressive, this is top 3 to me (I can't decide with some other games haha)! The first level is pretty easy, but the other two are real challenges. Could not complete them yet, but I'll definitely play this game again.

Awesome entry, you rock!

Thanks for playing! All great points. I completely forgot the wall jump even existed halfway through the jam. That's why it's not really used at all.

Fun patterns and wicked presentation. Only complaints would be that certain attacks (for example, bullets coming out of lava) are hard to react to when they’re effectively spawning out of nowhere in the middle of the screen due to being covered, and it was initially unclear that the UI on the upper left wasn’t your lives (which made me think I accidentally enabled god mode), but your bombs.

Thanks for the feed back and thanks for playing!

This is just a blast!
The first words to come out of my mind while seeing the menu, and realising the light follows my cursor, and this is a quote: "Yooo this is DOOOOOOPE". The shrimp battle is an absolute jam, and apropriatelly for a bullet hell, it feels properly crowded. My goodness, the visuals are amazing. The lighting is on point, the anticipation/announcing/warning shapes leave just enough time (although at times they are a bit hard to see because of the intense flashing and low contrast against the background). The transitions and effects are simply glorious.

Main point of criticism: healthbar? I had no idea if I was at pretty much full HP, or on the absolute brink of death. Another thing - you can walljump and it's reaaaally useful, but there are no... walls in the visual design of the game, so I didn't realize I could jump off of invisible walls. Another thing that would be really handy with this level of intensity would be having some sort of invincibility frames after being hit, because many, many times I just fell into a big projectile and got melted in less than a second.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I appreciate the in depth review. Your points are valid. Note, there is a health bar built into the player, it probably need to be a bit more visible.

This is such a vibe. I absolutely love how well the environmental rhythm has been incoroprated in this game. Also the visuals are stunning. The only thing I dislike is the visual clarity on some of the attacks. For example the droplets on each level are very hard to spot. And the indicators, especially on the very first spike attack in the first level are insanely hard to distinguish while dodging something else. Additionally, I feel like a double jump instead of the wall jump would've been more intuitive. Also, a life bar please :x

All in all, a great experience, good job!

Edit: Also noticed that some things keep dealing damage after they're basically gone from the screen already, and that the deafener doesn't work on area effects

Edit 2: I succesfully got the glowstick :P

Developer

Thanks for playing! And thanks for the detailed review. Ill definitely take these into consideration. Also, the player has a built in life bar.
