This was a lot of fun! I tanked hard on my first go but when I got the hang of properly watching the moves available on both teams it all made a lot more sense :D
The character interpretations and references to past jams were so good! Loved the music and character lines. Whole game was just full of fun vibes with the animations and disco floor!
Such a cool and creative concept, great character art and awesome music!
It's always fun to see what you come up with as both a physical game and then it's digital interpretation. As usual, it was unique and the designs were great. I really enjoyed the music as well.
A fun and unique concept brought to life with charming designs and a good rhythm.
Great music and character redesigns! Cool unique abilities and win conditions for each character too that puts a spin on this dancing card chess.
Such a fun take on all the characters! And while I'll probably have your game's song stuck in my head for the rest of the week, "I'm champin' at the bit!" will never leave my lexicon.
Ever since I recorded that line, I've been saying it every time I stop at a red light.
I love the character designs! They're soooo coooolllll! One of my favorite DSD's ever!
For those who are interested, I just uploaded the files for the printable version!
Cool concept, definitely one of the most original entries I've played so far. I feel like this idea has so much room to expand in a non game jam setting too if you guys ever decide to continue it.
Had a blast! Champ's music slaps.
It's a bop, for sure. I really like Primeval Mask's theme.
I lost more time that I'd have liked just listening to those songs on repeat instead of working.
Yeah, chvage did a really great job with the music! I can't decide whether Solveig's or the Champ's theme is my favorite.
A very creative concept. It's always interesting to see you make these games that can be played digitally or on tabletop.
Very cool game! Love all the different characters and the callbacks in the roster for each team. Great music, love how different each team's deck is and the special win conditions make you feel rewarded for good plays.
For clarity about the different versions (of the digital version)
At the time of the deadline, the game was really unstable, so I hid everything I could find that would crash the game and uploaded the parts that did work.
That version ended up being very limited, and you can still crash it pretty easily. Which is unfortunate.
After the deadline, we've been working to fix all the bugs and reintroduce the content that I had to cut. We've also polished and modified things to make the game the best possible version.
And that goes a bit beyond just fixing bugs, which is maybe unfair in the spirit of the competition part of the jam.
So we've kept that original, limited, version available as the Deadline Version for people who want to judge the digital version based on what was actually ready and uploaded when judging opened.
But if you instead wish to play a fun video game that matches ZOQL's board game version, and the vision we all spent a month working towards, please give the Current Beta Version, and eventually the Stream Version, a try.
It is, by far, the better version of the game.
Good vibes, the voice acting is a nice touch! Fun rule-set that presents a good challenge!
The style of this is so cool. love all the character interpretations and the whole vibe is just really fun. And i absolutely adore this tradition of making a physical game for these
MeBID will be posting the digital version soon! I submitted now so I can get some sleep, but there is the pcio version of the game available. You can check out the demo room here, but I recommend creating your own room if you want to play a full game with someone on there.
I'll have files for the printable version of the game finished and uploaded later this week (I hope)!
