Feels perfectly like something from the era, the 3D models and dithering make this feel like its sits right beside Myst and The Journeyman Project. Being able to move the camera just blew my mind, and the atmosphere of this game is unparalleled, more than once I felt the tension of danger despite none being there. Great soundscape, and the intrigue of the story paid off nicely, excellent game!

Really like how you've utilised Glerry's design. The mechanic of using water, then sucking it back up is really fun. The movement is great, I noticed holding 1 made Glerry into basically a jetpack, combined with the gliding it made moving around the maps really fun. The twist was incredible, seeing it all change in realtime was amazing, and that roar! Genuinely terrifying, loved every moment of this game.
Thrilling! Text adventures are a tricky art, and you've done very well here! The writing is awesome, with intrigue and mystery oozing from each page immersed me right from the start and had me hooked for the duration. Liked the different endings, the danger from the Pitmaster sequence felt very real getting more and more lost as the shadows close in. Had a blast playing this one.
Truly magic! Very sweet game with cute graphics and lovely gameplay. The music is so good, I loved the music for the second level! Then the final act of the game, WOW. Great work on the glitch fakeout, the reveal, that was so well done I had goosebumps the entire time. Love the interpretations on the mascots and the lore, and the interface on that final part is perfect, feels old school and you're really digging into something top secret. Brilliant all around!
An incredible work! Every aspect, the graphics, sounds, gameplay, it's all so well refined and fitting of the era. The CRT effect on the screen, the bitcrunched audio, you could easily tell me this is a PS1 classic I'd never played and I'd believe you! Love the interpretations of the mascots, the music is absolutely on-point, the logos and UI are excellent, just everything about this game I love.
Really cool take on a tower defence game, I like how wild the mascots can get onscreen sometimes, and it's always funny to be concentrating on one thing, then realise there are a whole bunch of enemies bullying your resources at the other end of the map and scrambling to get a train over there.
Only thing that made the game slightly hard to play was my mousewheel doesn't work well these days, so it was a bit difficult to zoom in and out, I couldn't work out the keyboard hotkeys but it wasn't a big problem.
What an adventure! The pacing and progression are immaculate, I like you have a choice which way to go right form the get go, the platforming challenge is really well tuned, and the upgrades are great fun. Just consistently impressed me more and more as I played, when I dropped in to see Jambon my jaw literally dropped. The final scene is incredible, it was so cool seeing everyone come together and then that final battle! WOW! One of the most memorable moments from this year's Jam for sure!
Very impressed with the amount of art here, so many different scenes and characters! The music is such a perfect vibe, and I love your interpretations of the characters, Franky in particular is my fave. Great choices throughout, I love you can spin Chipp to either be a normal guy or just a BBQ chips obsessed guy lol. I've gotten two endings so far, I'll check out the others when I can. It's wild you made a full visual novel in the time we had, this is truly outstanding work!
Holy moly, where to begin! Beautifully evocative of PS1 and N64, those trees make me so happy. The prerendered backgrounds are masterfully done, and love seeing the mascots translated to this look. The roaming around gameplay is awesome; the social link moment was a wonderfully heart warming surprise, had a lot of the fun with Jackpot, just in general the joy of building up your team. The management gameplay is very well done, it feels like the Yakuza 0 Cabaret minigame crossed with Wario Ware-esque micro games, very addictive! I could play a full 8-10 hour game of this, very well designed and super fun.
Great concept that is executed wonderfully, it's like reverse Pepsiman! Nailed the PS1 look, great voice acting, pure fun just getting to cause all that destruction. The writing is too good (that "just got declared a war crime" line had me roaring in laughter), and Chipp's response as the game goes on is too funny XD
The rush of the enemies all coming at you gave me kinda Hotline Miami vibes, I really dug that. Really enjoyed the lore of how the mascots looked after different areas of The Smoke Box, and can imagine the ending was quite heart warming. I did beat The Pitmaster, cool you did put a portal back to the start there, felt like the victory lap achieved!
The vibes throughout are 100% on point. Wonderful art and UI, beautiful music, really loved the variety of gameplay you achieved. Truly inspiring, you've given me a lot of ideas for future GB Studio projects!
Really enjoyed the writing, and just how much content there was, felt like a grand adventure to get to the egg. Looking forward to your future work!
Very cool idea for a co-op game! Lots of different things to try and combo off of your teammates, I like there are commands for the AI so you can get them to focus on certain things if you want to. Voice acting is great and gave a lot of personality, really like the depiction of The Pitmaster and Glerry.
I started my game off with Glerry, ended up getting Jambon as a new boss, that was a really fun twist! Always impressed how well thought out your games are, if you do a physical version of this one I'll wanna buy one to play with rl friends!
How did an hour pass so quickly? This game will have you locked in from the moment you press play! Great gameplay loop, and the satisfaction of the super smile and Chipp going off along with the regular tips in the food serving portion, peak. Fantastic art and audio, great UI for the shooting portion, awesome!
Absolutely charming presentation, and a great core mechanic. I loved all the potential for disaster too; on the cooking minigame I put down the scroll with intention of using it later, but as I picked up an ingredient next to it, it knocked the scroll and it fell into the trash chute! I laughed so much playing this, just top tier work.
Great Vampire Survivors-like, the pacing of the enemies felt very good and the different powerups were right up my alley; I love idea of having multiple drones, and the dorbs fit that perfectly. Got my dorbs fully powered up and bumped into the easter egg powerup, I was trying so hard not to kill Pitmaster at the end to see how high I could level but sadly he got caught in some crossfire lol.
Love the different designs of the enemies, great audio, excellent work all around!
Fantastic RPG! Great music evoking some Chrono Trigger vibes, I really like the spin on the classic ATB battle system, you really feel like you're commanding your team and the way they can act autonomously is great. Chipp in particular ended up being so fast, I hardly had to control him because by the time I walked up to him he'd already be attacking.
Love the progression, the pacing felt really good, and it was really fun messing with the different team comps. I ended up using Chipp, Glerry and Steve for my final party, they're so OP together I love it! Fantastic art and some fun twists in the story. Excellent!
Loads of fun! Reminds me of the intensity of something like Overcooked. Once you get the flow of things, it's nice having multiple orders on the go and it's cool you can place build objects how you want. Only thing I'd say is maybe move the exit to main menu button, I did a whoops and exit'd to menu a couple of times before getting used to the button placement XD
Currently done a first playthrough, I'll add more thoughts once I earn 1,000 SBs/work out how to get the ending, but for now:
- Love the music! The Small Fries theme, Glerry's stage and Pitmaster's stage were very good.
- Great variety of minigames, very quick and snappy like a slightly longer WarioWare game.
- Skins were a very nice touch. I started the game immediately ordering food, then finding out it had a redeem code for a skin. Great way to tie The Smoke Box's products and the Small Fries game together.
- Only thing I wish for is a save system, but it's easy enough to leave the game running in a tab and come back to it. Awesome stuff!
What a WILD game! The story is so intriguing, I just had to know what happened next! What happened in the Battle of Hastings? How did Lennen end up that way? Who was Primeval Mask before he was J Dog? The writing and humour is great, and it's really fun having a jump button in this game. Absolute joy to play.
One of the most surreal experiences with gaming I've had in a while. At first it was just trying to work out where to go within the time limit. Then once I heard from the community about the hidden Solveigs, each run became an exploration further into the unknown, craving to understand more even as each attempt brings far more questions than answers. Art that feels like it unravels your mind, and music that feeds your curiosity fueling each run with new determination, this game will keep me coming back and stay with me for a long time.
Had a stellar time with this game! Wonderful art and music, I really liked the lore of how a world of having three friends and Tricks was integrated into the story. Really good level design, love how the cave has shortcuts to earlier areas and to the other side of town. The whole experience was outstanding and cozy, I wanted to live in that town ~
Thoroughly immersing from start to finish. Having the hair swish tied to mouse movement is such a great gamefeel interaction, and it's incredible how after a moment you really acclimate to navigating with Sera's echolocation. Really like how much atmosphere is in this game, gradually pitching from pleasant adventure to an unknown terror.
The use of different colours for things makes reading the echolocation feedback easy and intuitive, which made the more tense sections really fun as you're trying to get away from danger while also trying to figure out where to go. Genuine relief when I finished, that was a perfectly executed Squeeze and Release. Sakurai would be proud!
