"So anyway, I started blasting"
Great camera work, the shake made it really satisfying to play. Got through all 9 ranks, with heavy focus on EXP gain.
Let's just say I had a blast ;D
Hahaha, nice to know you had a blast, Monch Monch. Congrats on winning the game! Thank you for playing and for your nice comment!
This was really fun. I think it's really impressive for 7 days and well done.
Thank you very much, Mrs. Sasquatch!
Solid game it went a bit crazy on level 8 and I blame that for me not finishing it.
Hi RicoTV, thank you for playing and commenting!
Oof, it went a bit crazy on level 8? Can you please tell me more? I hope to learn from this experience.
it kinda ground to a halt likely to many objects and bullets on scene. Perhaps object (bullet) pooling would help.
Just kinda ground to a halt then I got mobbed but couldn't do anything move shoot etc
Glad you enjoyed it! Also never heard of robotron thats pretty cool
Hi Serket Studios,
Thank you so much for playing! Glad you had fun. Indeed, this game was made a little easy on purpose, as my previous game jam titles were deemed way too difficult.
Haven’t played Robotron (yet), though I vaguely remember it from the 80’s. We definitely went for the neon retro future look and feel here. Basically, the game designer was inspired by the main soundtrack first, and went out to make a game based on the music.
Great art style, the music fits it perfectly as well. I really enjoyed the floating character shooting the bullets! Was confused about the different shoot speeds till I read the jam page, my fault for not doing that first! Really clever mechanic there. That's a perfect example of a great risk/reward scenario.
I felt like the HP and XP bar being above the player was fairly distracting and blocked my view a bit. I preferred playing from the top and working my way down when possible.
Also, as other mentioned, quite a bit of lag. i would have loved to have the option to download the game onto my PC as I imagine it would have run much smoother.
Anyways, great entry!
Thank you, Sasquatch B, for your kind words, good feedback and of course for playing our game!
The programmer took on the challenge to make it on HTML5 only, and took steps to lower the lag as much as possible. We hope the lag wasn’t too bad.
The HP and XP bars could have been at the top center. Maybe in a next version.
Great art style, well done!
Thank you for your compliment, and thank you for playing!
The gameplay was fun, blowing up enemies was very satisfying. There was a significant amount of lag though, and it got worse over time. Visual style was cool. I think there's a difference between evolving and just leveling up, but this is one of the many games this jam that uses the terms as synonyms. I enjoyed it though!
Hi Jorava,
Thank you for your honest feedback, and for playing! Yeah, believe it or not: the lag was even worse in earlier versions. Definitely a thing for me to watch out for in the next game jams.
In the meantime, the only solution I can suggest, is to find ways to blast away the drones even faster, before they become a crowd.
Building movement speed and attack speed made me zoom through the play area xD
Hahahaaa, I should try that too. Thank you!
Had fun! Enemies are cool :D
Thank you, Ensareray! Compliments to the 3D modeler for the enemy models!
I would love to see more of this I love it
Hi Barisg, thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!
It is an awesome take on the theme and incorporation of the assets. We loved the little touches, like the screen shake and the fact that you can destroy bullets. The soundtrack fits the game perfectly, and the sound effects are also excellent. Maybe the leveling-up abilities could happen without pausing the game, by allowing players to select them with a button press, like 1, 2, or 3. But overall it feels really polished! Awesome job!
Niiice! Thank you so much, 5-0-9 Studios! Thank you for playing and for the kind words!
I like the Glow on the bullets!
Yeah, shine out your light, Pathfinderr!
