  • Incredibly well-polished experience that leverages the genre of the OS simulator and pairs it with horror. I like that it was a focused game and it didn't obsess over the distractions that OS simulators usually have. Purely narrative based but with a few minigames and puzzles to keep the player interested and engaged. The game is a well-realized project from a team effort and achieves exactly what it sets out to do. Great stuff!

I was like: why using an old computer with Windows3 interface would be scary? man…this experience is awesome ! I was just expecting different ends depending on the actions made but the current one is totally nailed. Great job to the team!

This is by far the best game I have ever played during the jams!

Hey bullfrog!

WOW! Just wow. That was a really really cool experience. I saw you posting updates in the Discord and was like "oh man, that is one I have to try". I was absolutely not wrong either. This is definitely a must-try game from the Jam -- really great job.

A couple notes after playing (nothing huge, just nitpicky stuff I noticed):

  • The main menu sound (even though you aren't supposed to be there that long) had a noticeable fade both in and out. Not a huge deal and probably nobody else noticed I was just doing something and heard it happen before I clicked in.
  • There were a few spelling mistakes and grammatical errors but honestly they aren't even a huge deal because they were in the emails and could easily be written off as that character doing that

What I liked:

  • This truly was an experience. It brought me back to watching playthroughs of Welcome to the Game and I loved every second of it. The moment the computer rebooted and told me to turn around I about had a hear attack
  • The interface of the computer is truly amazing! This is what I was hoping to achieve for one aspect of my game, but clearly it can become a whole game in and of itself. Truly amazing work with the styling, sound of the keyboard clacking, mouse clicking, windows, icons... all of it.
  • Obviously the cat photos hidden in the private folder and a gold star :)
  • The sound design was phenomenal. I already mentioned all the computer stuff, but the atmosphere of the rain outside, the fans whirring on the computer, the hum of the crt, and ESPECIALLY that fantastic windows 95 booting sound -- made me want to go listen to some Blank Banshee and Brian Eno

Really fantastic experience and I hope you continue to develop it! Looking forward to any future projects as well!

Wow, this was really incredible! You did a great job recreating the feel of a 90s Windows PC and had a nice variety of minigames within the computer. I especially liked the hidden kitty pictures :) Great work!

Excellent story, great aesthetics and sound. My only complaint is it wasn't longer.

Great job, it has a really tense feeling, and fun mini games. Love the ol windows 3.1 feel!

And this is why you don't access top secret files from the government, folks.

I really like 1. The simulation of old computer system. 2. The sound when interaction, they are really realistic. 3. Your game website is cool as well, fit your theme.

Two things, both good :)

First- i like games that get me to interact with a computer system- Orwell, Hacknet, all zachtronic games. Your game was right up my alley, especially, because it really clicked (and now I realize I made a pun).

Second- am I crazy, or is my game unintentional sequel to yours? :)

Overall- really loved your game. Keep it up!

Very cool concept of having the player interact with an old school OS system as the core gameplay loop! I would've loved if you could look a bit more around as when there was an unexpected sound, my mouse automatically flickered to check out where it was coming from (which is a great thing!) but I couldn't actually turn the character around. A very nice, concise entry!

Loved the idea behind this game. Using the computer was fun.

Don't make me go bad to that OS!! The horror spilled over me in waves. Then I played it, it was all awesome. Not a bad thing to say. KUDOS
