Having the stranger wait for the bus beside you was unnerving at first, until said bus did a Mario jump XD
When selecting to board the bus or not, I thought the option that was brightest was the one I was picking, so for my first run I actually didn't board and then unlocked a bad ending I think lol
Personally, I would shorten the wait times. I felt that they were too long and made me think the game bugged out or something.
Other than that, the game's fun!
a bit confusing but it's alright though i start floating sometimes
This is an interesting game! It was a pretty surreal experience. It definitely captures a good mix of the unsettling feeling of waiting at a bus station (or similar) and the absurdity that sometimes follows it. I loved the visual effects too!
The first time I played through I hadn't read your note about pushing yourself into walls and stuff, so I accidentally made myself start floating above the ground if I climbed slopes or got pushed up by something. It was actually a bit of a fun bug since it made things even more surreal--I managed to get above the houses haha! I restarted though since I figured I was missing out on the rest of the game. I got confused about getting into the house, but then I went and read your instructions about hitting the 'e' key to knock (I thought "i" was generic interaction, so I was trying that at first and thought I was just in the wrong place). Other than that I got through the game okay!
It's pretty cool to go back and try to make the other choice when your bus comes too. Both choices have pretty unsettling consequences.
Good job!
I don't know if it's because I'm not used to games where you have to wait for things to happen that I felt "empty" in a good way, it seemed like something would happen at any moment, and when it didn't, it made me even more anxious lol
But in the end, it was quite fun, it was a huge relief to finish because I was already panicking :O
Anyway, congratulations on the project!
I found it unsettling till the bus mario jumped LOL. It wouldnt let me enter my bus so i didnt see much more of the game but i was intrigued with what i did play
I was sweating while waiting at the bus stop because I thought there would be a jump scare.... glad there wasn't. I like the screen like aesthetic, but it was a little confusing if I was advancing the game correctly. The bus stop man's singing was really funny.
You were indeed advancing in the game did you board the bus?
?
A strange, surrealistic game about the uncanny experience of waiting at a bus stop and how uncomfortable it feels to be doing so at night. I used to commute by bus all the time and can confirm this is basically on par for the weird, uncomfortable vibes of sitting around late at night waiting for the bus to come. In that sense, I liked the slow pacing to reinforce it, but can definitely see how it can get a bit humdrum when not knowing what to expect. I'm sad that Mum got eaten but value the idea of there being a branching narrative where that may not have happened if I actually got on the bus. Maybe if the damn buses came on time!
I couldn't get up from the bench after sitting down? (I tried to press [I] and other keys or mouse)
I had one of the endings where you don't get on any bus.
You wait for your bus to come
I like the aesthetic and the singing man scare me!
My feedback would be to have less time in between events as at first I thought the game was broken because nothing happened but after I had waited for a long time suddenly something happened.
Good work, keep it up! :)
ohk bro I thought fast pacing could make the player overwhelmed still thanks for playing
The game does appear to be working now. The game is short but fairly well-polished. The atmosphere and minimal sound did give me a sense of loneliness. The scan lines and screen curvature effects were neat! The bus the random stranger got on flew backward in the air instead of driving forward like the rest. I'm not sure if that was intended but it was interesting. Another small issue I had was the cursor doesn't lock to the screen which can be annoying. I enjoyed the game overall. Good work!
I'm not going to rate it because that's not fair but the .exe version is all so hard crashing on boot.
Uff I didn't know about that. I've fixed it you can play!
it is fixed thanks
Working but will give another shot tonight
Unfortunately I can't play it. It looks like you got an out of bounds error, which if you don't know, essentially means that you're trying to access and array using an index < 0 or >= array length.
You should try the Exe version. I'll try to fix the web build I have my exams going am very low on time
Fixed the exe
