Had fun playing this one, gameplay felt smooth and love the detail put into the art :)

Submitted(+2)

I loved the art, I liked the combat but in the first level my character got bugged in the middle of a construction :(

Developer

Sorry for that! the game is pretty buggy right now.

Submitted

Damn why did you have to make the cat so ugly, but other than that aesthetics are nice, interesting gameplay too.

Developer

Take that back!

Hahaha honestly i wasn't sold on the cat either but it seems most ppl liked it :)

Not at all what I was expecting from the name.. Nice! There are some small polish things: I got stuck on a collider, a bat got stuck in the top bar, i think the character is a little slippery, and the hurt sound of the ogre is a bit loud (i know that sound though.. reminds me of warcraft or something..) That being said.. I loved the game.. I think there is a lot of potential here.. the art is great and i like the overall feel. Well done!

Developer

Defiantly agree with all of your criticism!

Glad you still got a lot of enjoyment out of it :)

I liked the humor and also your ambition. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The intention for this game was to be light hearted and funny, glad you like it!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty funny game, a like a lot the "isekai" like story

It has a lot of mechanics, it's quite ambitious  for a jam game. And just when I thought I was done, I transformed into the vending machine and it was hilarious.

Good job!!

Developer

Yeah we definitely overdid it with the scope which is why the game is very rushed and buggy.

Happy you still liked it and it made you laugh! That was our main goal.

Nice game, love the fighting system, Game could have been a little more forgiving with dying though.

Submitted(+3)

I definitely enjoyed this way more than I should have. The sword ascension was especially fun. Also gotta love the constant EUGH EUGH EUGH from the ogres lolol.

Developer(+1)

Very happy to hear you liked it so much, the sword is also my favorite!

Submitted(+3)

XD theres alot more here than meets the eye, getting turned into a vending machine threw me. At first I wasnt sure, but by the end I was sold. great work, I can tell you had some fun with this one.

Developer

hahaha we definitely had fun with this one.

ecstatic you liked it, really enjoyed playing your game!

Good submission, love the humour and the gameplay. Good artwork!

They AI images Here Weird and Don't work when not in FullScreen.

Liked The FLOATY Jump, just rebine it to W as well as space ! Gameplay was pretty fun

Submitted(+3)

This game is so much fun to play, and the art is beautiful! I did notice a UI glitch when playing in fullscreen mode, though.

Submitted(+3)

This is a fun game! It was really entertaining to go around killing everything. Good job!

Submitted(+2)

Lots of fun playing and really cute lil ol designs!!

Developer(+1)

Happy to hear, absolutely loved the design in your game :)

I really like the talking sound effects at the beginning of the game! Also the cat aesthetic really got my interest!~ I also really like the player movement with how quick it is. I get to see my little cat roll into a ball while shooting bullets and It was really exciting! For feedback, I would just recommend lowering the ogre cries when they get hit, my headphones would burst it a little bit LOL.

Developer

We might have went overboard with the sound… hahaha

Thanks for the kind words!

Something felt really weird about the way landing on platforms keeps your momentum or something, like i just constantly was slipping off of things despite even pressing the opposite direction. Whole thing feels like an ice level, basically.

I never quite understood how the health mechanics worked or what the white bar does or means, guessing it fills on killing enemies and you need it full to ascend? It also seems like the robots gave confusing advice (ie there are some places you can’t reach as a cat… pretty sure there aren’t?) so I wasted time trying to figure out where to go next as the vending machine. The final form just felt really weak compared to it, in terms of killing enemies. Both of those forms it was really hard to judge where the hitbox actually was for platforming.

Could really use more feedback on when the player is taking damage, and some tighter controls would make this pretty fun I think.

Still, felt clever and I liked the double use of the theme, good work!

Can definitely see what you're talking about with controls.

I very much agree with your comment about the player talking damage, wish we had more time to add some feedback.

Appreciate the honest criticism and hope you still enjoyed your playthrough!

I might’ve sounded harsher than I meant, I had a good time exploring it - I enjoyed the absurdity of the vending machine twist lol, and the “ugh” sound effect. I also grew up on a Maple Street and had an orange and white kitty so the intro really spoke to me :P

First run: I made it all the way to the end very fast! Then discovered I needed to kill a lot more than I did... so instead of backtracking I just hit the restart to start over and focus more on kills instead of dodging.

Run #2 - I got stuck in a ceiling with 60% of the souls bar filled :(

Couldn't get unstuck, so had to restart again.

Run #3 - THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM!! Ascended to my second form and LOL, that was totally unexpected and amazing! Really unique character moveset that was quite fun and challenging to navigate with! Really gave me renewed interest to keep playing more! Then the final form, I had a blast having so much mobility and power, I played it out to the final ending! I even met the evil brother >:]

Loved the experience start to finish besides the technical issues. Amazing work, and such interesting unique concepts! Were there any other secrets I missed?

Developer(+1)

big thanks for playing the game and taking the time to write such a detailed response!

the robot in the start is supposed to tell you about the "soul" bar, but in hindsight maybe it's too easy to not notice and just walk past him. also maybe the dialogue isn't clear enough.

sorry about your second run haha, the game is a bit of bug fest right now and we sadly didn't have time to fix all of them :(

still really glad you enjoyed the game! about the secrets: i think you found them all.

wish we had time to add more lore stuff and some more animations and art but maybe in the future...

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, mate. You're right, it is a bug. We do have a feature that lets you return to the last checkpoint by pressing 'T', but it seems it wasn't clear since you restarted the run instead. How do you think we could make this feature more noticeable?

Submitted (2 edits)

I think if there was a menu button in the corner, I would have clicked it > and maybe could have rediscovered the controls I missed, like if there's a button labeled "Restart At Checkpoint [T]", or just a general list of controls in a permanent place I can refer to.

I missed that you mentioned it in the description, whoops! I was in fullscreen mode and felt locked in cus when the game is minimized, the itchio page cuts off a big part of the screen, so for some reason minimizing never crossed my mind!

(Like the start game button is cut off completely until you fullscreen it)

Developer(+1)

Sounds like our game came with its own hidden difficulty: finding the controls!
A menu button would definitely save some head-scratching moments.
anyway thanks for sticking with it and the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Interesting entry this one! I didn’t expect to hear that low pitch “EURGHH” but when I did I giggled. Fun to just leap around piling through enemies though!

Developer

happy to have made you laugh, that definitely was our main aim for the game.

thank you for playing the game!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks in advance for playing the game!
