Echoing others' sentiment of reminding me of playing GTA2! This game really comes together, from artwork, music, and consistent controls.

Developer

As someone who also grew up playing GTA II as a kid (that game was actually 18+ wasn't it haha), GTA 2 was a big inspiration for this of course. Intitially I would've also liked to have pseudo 3d, being able to climb rooftops and traffic bridges. Car traffic was also planned, but ultimately I had to stay in scope of course :) Glad I was able to recreate part of the feeling of this gem in such a short time!

Great game overall! Really cool music and and very interesting take on theme! The gameplay is smooth and the design is well made!

My only issue was that I wish I could have had more use of the car. It was well developed so if it'd been more useful I would've loved to use it more!

I'm also amazed by the sheer amount of ..game there is! The fact all these levels and things were made in only 7 days is astounding! Amazing job!

Really like the gameplay, the shooting feels nice and it feels really smooth overall. The music has a good vibe and fits the game well. Love that you added a tutorial as well, that really helped.

Overall a really nice game and I really enjoyed playing it!

Yoo, the music was done in ~20 minutes on the last day of the jam. Gonna take the compliment though, I too had it stuck in my head for the next 2 days after making it :)

Thanks!

This is a really really great entry! Takes me back to playing GTA2!

The size of the levels is impressive, and the scope of the game (with the progression and multiple endings) blew me away. My wife liked playing this one as well! Great little tutorial section as well (though on my first playthrough I missed the section about rolling, and so had no idea you could roll lol)

A few minor things to fix/add:

- you get a boost in movement speed when moving diagonally on foot, I think the movement vectors need to be normalized.

- a miniMap Icon for the car would have been super helpful, there were times when I parked it and (just like in real life) forgot where I parked it.

- I quickly realized that the car was only holding me back. There was a sufficient supply of unhappy people for me to find on foot Using the car frequently only ever made me fail the levels...which sucks because I really enjoyed using it

Loved this entry man, I think I spent the most time playing this one!

Developer

Oh, yea the diagonal speed boost is because I was calculating friction seperately on both axes that was a bit dumb, good find!
The car only holding you back came up several times during testing. Didn't find a viable way to fix it without making movement on foot feel terrible. I could've obviously removed the penalties, but I think they add a lot to the comedic factor. Minimap icon for the car is a great idea. If I do a quick post jam fix that should definitely make it in!
Ty for the feedback, apprechiate it. Also thanks to your wife haha :)

Very interesting interpretation of the theme! The rolling is satisfying. The sprite is nice too. Great effort! The game feels complete especially with the multiple endings.

Developer

Thank you! The last 2 days of the jam got really stressful to get the ending working the way I wanted it to be and not having to cut corners. Very glad I made it in time and happy to have someone notice :)

Loved the concept and especially the driving around was a lot of fun. Great work!

So much fun! Made me chuckle to drive up, pop out of a car, deliver 2 shots of happy right into someone's back, and drive off again knowing I made their life (temporarily and superficially) better! :D The escalation is great too. Night mode and rebels. Great stuff. Felt great, looked good, sounded good. Right on theme. Just awesome.

Developer

Thank you :)
I wanted the game to make you try to figure out if you're really the good guy in this story. No outright judgements about good or evil. Just a policewoman lobbing gas grenades into a cementary to bring happiness to the world.
