Was looking through the submissions for SJ7 when the name on this one gave me Vietnam War flashbacks to Library of Ruina, so of course I had to play it. All in all, although it may be a bit simple, it's well made and enjoyable, any of the minor problems I had have already been mentioned by other reviews, so I won't bog you down with them :)

I started early
I have used some of my pre-existing character designs but that's it really, all artwork and what not were made during the jam.

The game is super cute with the art-style and it's really entertaining. I did encounter one issue though, if you continue talking to the characters after you do their favor, It continues to show their empty chat bubbles after their done talking. You can hit esc and it will exit the chat but it was really confusing at first.
Really like the aesthetic of the characters, the pixel art is very fun to look at.
A couple of main issues I had:
- The movement. Imo character movement is kinda slow, and I’m not a huge fan of the friction while moving against walls.
- More of a nitpick, but the arrows at entry points. At first, they were a tad bit misleading, as there were arrows pointing to doors that didn’t really lead to anywhere important. Maybe there could be a better way to indicate available entrances?
Overall though, I’m really intrigued to see where the game goes from here :)
Thanks, glad you liked it.
A1: I plan on changing that if I ever do more, also the software I used to make has a hard time with that and I'm not smart enough to fix it as of right now.
A2: The arrows were kind of last second alongside the audio so I just kinda slapped it on hoping people would get it, I was originally going to have the doors have a white outline but again not enough time to tweak that.
Very cute little game! I only managed to unlock 2 arts out of 3 apparently, but I really liked the character designs, very creative! It's short but cute and the NPCs are kind X) I wish I could play more and spend more time visiting their world UwU
I also found out a house is missing collisions:
Fun character designs, Jodi is my favorite. Some control nitpicks and technical issues, but I like the concept. The fullscreen art for the sex scenes was great.
Very cute characters and lovely event illustrations, I really like your color choices! The pixelated map sprites are wonderful, and I hope you have plans to give them some sexy animations if you expand the project!
The sound effects are nice, you just need to find a cheerful music track to match them.
The shift key should just toggle running on or off on a press rather than a hold. I couldn't find a way to close the illustrations other than exiting using the top left button and playing again, and the question mark picture just wouldn't close at all for me.
I can see this grow into something special if you keep up the development, there's enough here already to get my mind wondering about other stuff that may happen in your little city! Nicely done!
I also got a bunch of scary security warnings, so I set up a VM and played it in there.
And I'm glad I did! I love the pixel style in this one, with the sharp lines and bold colours, and the high-resolution dialogue portraits look great. The character design is also very much on point. Plus, the writing was cute, made me smile a few times.
As for the gameplay, the default walking speed is a bit low (it could probably be bumped up to where the "sprinting" speed is right now), and I think I'd like an indicator for when you're near an interactive object. Not much of a concern right now, but if you develop this into a full game, it would be nice to see.
mcafee told me it was a virus and then vaporized it :(
