Ye so... isn't really a game. Coding ended up being a mess and we salvaged what we could.

You can tell that this game had great potential and that there was a lot of effort put into the artwork and the design of the game. It is a real shame that it could not be made into a fully functioning game.

The characters and the level design looked great.

It may not have turned out as you expected, but you can definitely see that effort was put in, so long as you've acknowledged where you've went wrong and how you can address that in future, then I believe there's always a way forward.

I see how this game could have had a lot of potential, it is really upsetting that the code broke!

Things like this happen, still a good job for uploading!

Rather liked the sprites!

The visuals of the sprites look very good and has a good amount of potential. Shame the game wasnt fully completed but at least you submitted something which is a good job.

The sprites look nice even though they're low res, it's a shame there isn't much to review as I can see what the overall design of the game was ment to be, it's a shame that the game didn't get to reach that stage, i'd have loved to see it fully how you guys invisioned it. Even though the game isn't fully functional you atleast managed to submit something so good job for that.

The visuals look really really cool so you should definitely be proud of that!!! The fact that you submitted a game was good in itself :))))

The sprites look great, I can clearly see what kind of game you were going for, I'd have loved to have played it! Good on your for submitting what you had anyway even if it wasn't where you wanted it to be.

I'm not really going to review the "game" as there is little to review, I'm afraid. What I will do is give some discussion on how to avoid doing this in the future, and I will be touching upon this on Monday's Lecture so ensure that you all attend that.

Coding is a complicated progress that can be quite a lonesome task, and problems can feel impossible from your perspective. But working on it as a team within an environment where you are potentially surrounded by people who have programmed before means that when you do encounter problems there is more than one person whos working on solving the issue. I don't know if you had these problems late in the day as you tried to merge your work or whatever, but some source control would've been massively useful as you can trace back when things go wrong and figure out together what is causing issues.

I would suggest working on creating a foundation of the game within the first couple days of development with moving left and right, collision, placeholder assets, etc. to build up off. So in worst case scenario you have the core to work from. Reflect on what happened, what mistakes were made, and what you are going to do to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Nice art honestly and i can see that you had plans for further ahead with the implemented health bars on top but with the only controls being movement and no hits, better luck next time and make sure to pay attention to time management

Game crashed on first startup.

On the second one it ran fine though. While the fighting element leaves a lot to be desired, the spritework shown is actually really impressive, even if the character's themselves look significantly lower-res than the background.

For a game where you had to "salvage it out of messy coding", being able to control both characters was nice, however I should mention that holding the jump button would cause a character to float up out into the atmosphere, never to return.

A good attempt still, and I don't think it would have taken much more work to make this a functional fighter.

A clear attempt has been made within this game, I like that you could control both characters within this fighting game which I was only expecting being able to control just the one, you have said that the coding did not go as planned but I can still see that you were able to have the characters coding movement within this submission, the artwork is well made and feel that if you did have sound as well then it would be great, but as you have said that problems did occur and you still submitted something, good attempt!
