Really nice looking game with well designed sprites, I loved the scoring system and how the challenge of the game grew over time, some variation in combat would have been nice to see but it worked as expected and felt very unique with its own style! very nice submission :) Well done!

A good attempt at the fighter style game. I felt that the art was really unique and looked good and the sounds and music worked well with the theme of the game. However, the mechanics of the game were lacking with just spamming spacebar with little to no damage being taken. Regardless, a really good attempt.

Was a pretty cool game! The music and animation was pretty great, and it fit in all together. The only issue I had, was the fact that i could spam attack, and not take any damage at all. However, this was a nice attempt at a game nonetheless! I enjoyed it!

Decent attempt! The art and animation is great! Looks really good. I also liked the music and the theme. Very cool!

There was a problem where when i would start the game, the enemies would kinda bunch up, glitch and bounce around because they were colliding with each other. I think it would have been better if you spawned on screen rather than off screen. Whether that was a bug, im not sure, but i was a bit confused at first.  Also at the other end of the screen you could go off screen. Would have been cool to have it scroll across the screen.

Overall, good job. Well done!

A game with decent visuals and audio leading to a nice user experience; the addition of character selection is also a good addition contributing to prolonged engagement with the game in order to unlock the additional characters. Comfortably meets the requirements and contains the core aspects of the genre.

Gameplay is a little lacking, which is a key part of any game of course, devolving into rapid button mashing and an absence of player feedback outside of some text which at times can be a bit hard to see. Some form of health bars or animations on hit would go a long way to understanding whether or not hits are registering. Despite the visuals, there isn't much 'game' here unfortunately, and I feel like perhaps more could have been done in the time that was given. Having the same hurtbox size for both characters can make doing damage whilst avoiding it yourself incredibly difficult, there should be a consistent way to reduce or negate damage to provide some more complex depth. Finally, just adding more enemies is a poor way of increasing difficulty, just like increasing health and damage taken (looking at you Borderlands 2!). Are there better ways to make the game more difficult as you progress?

Overall, this is an entirely serviceable submission which unfortunately has fairly shallow gameplay. Building upon the foundations that you have established would result in a much stronger submission. Use what you have learned in this process to perhaps make stronger games in the future! Good effort, nonetheless.

I love the artstyle of this game, the character designs were good and the music fitted the game well. Love the overall design of the multiple levels and the light effect on the main menu is a nice touch. The main critque I have with this game is the overall gameplay, it seems a bit bare bones, just mashing spacebar is enough to win the game. The addition of more moves for the enemies and different directions for their spawn would have been good. It is a good base for a fighting game and I love the visuals, good job.

Thank you so much for your feedback! Glad you liked the visuals! In regards to the gameplay I completely understand where you're coming from! We had more of a complex attack script prepared but the person in charge wrote it in the wrong language lmao so we had to fix up a more basic one due to the short amount of time left.  :)

A visually impressive submission, a little lacking in the gameplay department.

The first thing I should mention is that this is a game that you can win simply by spamming the spacebar as hard and fast as you possibly can - and it's the most effective way of getting through your game too. It was hard to know when you were in range of an enemy and when they could attack you too. I feel like this issue could be resolved by maybe putting a cooldown on your attack and having the enemies spawn a little less frequently - despite my expert spacebar-destroying skills, I'd still find myself overwhelmed, especially on the last level.

The visuals in your game are top-notch. I love the character designs, and while it's a shame that more than one enemy design wasn't used, the one that was was clearly designed with care, and the whole game looked great throughout! The music and sounds were also well-done, especially on the title screen. The only thing I'd question is why the player character is so small in comparison to the enemies present, as that was a little jarring to begin with.

Overall this game's best part is it's visual attention, and for that your team should be proud.

Hiya thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the visuals they were fun to do and George did an amazing job on the backgrounds :) In regards to the size difference it seemed like an interesting idea at the time having a small angel defeat large demons but I can understand why it might be a bit jarring :)

Ah, I see, that makes sense!
Perhaps you could have included a little "story" bit in the main menu for that, because it's a really good idea for a premise.

Solid game with amazing artwork. The characters look really cool and well made and I like how they all have a different glow. The animations were done really well and I like how you added music to the game.  Also the headbutt for an attack is such a cool idea and makes the game unique. The addition of character selection and multiple levels makes this game really fun to play. Good Job!

Wow, I had a lot of fun with this one! Love the main menu and music, the overall theme is fun and consistent. The characters are so well made, they really add a lot of charm to the game along with the headbutt mechanic which I had a good chuckle at. Having multiple levels is a really nice touch, as well as the character selection (although I couldn't figure out how to unlock the other characters?)

I feel like gameplay could be improved by having a short delay between headbutts to make hit detection more reliant on timing rather than just mashing the button. The only other issues I had you seem to be aware of so I won't go on about them :)

Overall a really fun, cute game. Well done!

Ay glad you liked it! I agree that having a delay between headbutts would be a great improvement  -thanks for the feedback! :DDDD

Wow, a great game, the main menu screen really surprised me with the disco type effect and having more than one character which made me curious on how to unlock them, I liked how each level was different including the music which really stood out to me, I would of liked to of seen enemies come from both directions as well on a harder level as this would of made it even more challenging as with some of the levels once I got used to the game I was able to beat the game more than once, but with art and sounds like that and programming light movements within the screen made this game stand out really well so great job to all involved within this game!

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that having enemies spawn from different sides would be a great idea :D Glad you liked the game!! :DDDDD

Hiya! Just a quick note: your character spawns slightly to the right so you might want to use the keys to get moving to the left :)

Also , to get to the next level you have to reach a score of 230!

In hindsight, we probably should have fixed the spawning issue and stated about how to get to the next level in game - but for now it’s in a comment :)

Enjoyyyy!!!!! :D
