Interesting idea. It's sort of satisfying to just shoot the two ships on the top and watch the others get destroyed.

How much time was taken?
Nope... export bugs... took me awhile to build first one.
Use of theme?
Chains reactions: falling UFO can kill his comrade(s)
Negative feedback loop: UFO become faster with you progressing. Also you spend more an more energy on shots and flight.
Novel twist on classic game: not much in my opinion.
Use of diversifiers?
Twitter, discord, little ingame random (ufo directions and endgame messages), game page theme, source code, and looking forward to play some other participants games =)
Did you have fun?

Neat game! At first I was a little confused by the mechanics, having them explained somewhere in the game would've been helpful. I also thought collecting the fuel from the UFOs was them using some kind of seeking missile attack at first lol, but once I figured it out I had a fun time trying it out!
As a metal-head that music really tickled my pickle, but a tad too loud.
I enjoyed the sound effects. The previously mentioned degenerative strategy does take the fun out of the game once you discover it. A way you could get around this is to have the lazer fire in pulses so that you would have to aim to hit something rather than scan the screen. Well done.
I like the player model.
As mentioned before there's a degenerative strategy where you simply destroy every enemy from bottom to top endlessly.
This was interesting to play. Pretty simple, easily understandable and easy to get into which is perfect for a jam game. Really well done :)
The music sounded good and definitely added a sense of ramping tension, but please add an option to turn it off and/or down.
I almost felt like everything was a bit small on the screen, like you are looking at the enemies but it's hard to tell when you are to line it up and there's a massive expanse of empty space. Perhaps making the sprite a bit bigger would help?
I feel it would also benefit from a sustained noise when energy drains or the space bar is held as a couple of times I head it down thinking it was easiest and didn't realise my bar was draining. This is compounded by the fact that everything is so far away you are looking at one size of the screen or the other and don't really get the bar in your peripheral.
It also seems that your exit does nothing and your restart button acts as an exit button.
Thanks! I need more feedback like that!
You can turn off mucis and sounds by pressing thath little speaker icon. But I'll definetely add more sound customisation later.
I also need to move pause and mute buttons to the left cause they ovelapped by itch.io overlay ones.
Can you specify your screen resolution? And yes, I'll think about doing something with unused space.
Thanks a lot for idea about energy bar sfx, it definetelly lacks some feedback for users.
Exit button intended only for desktop and mobile version. It has bug in WebGL, but ofcourse I totally forgot to hide it on WebGL version =(
Restart button works fine unless you pressed Exit one. After you press Exit, scene tree tries to quit, but failes and can't reload current scene cause it thinks that current scene not exists anymore. I'll add it to the warning message in description =)
Yes, this is one of the greatest philosophical dilemas, how people are afraid of new things that are not similar to them, that are so much different from everything they saw in theyr life. But then, with time passed and trust builded... just kidding xD
Welcome to the Anti UFO Coalition Airforce pilot! =)
Not sure if intended but you can just kinda sit at the top and shoot and they all fall down.
Also the audio hard jumpscared me
Also also pineapple on pizza is good >:(
Cool game though.
Yeah, I'll lower audio volume and, may be add some kind of slider to tune it. Also yes, for this basic enemy it was intended for being able to shoot them all down in one shot to the top one. But I honestly failed for latest build to make it harder and harder to accomplish. I'll think about this and better energy managment for post jam release.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
p.s.
So you are behind this invasion?! How many pineaple pizza loving agents did you settled on Earth?! xD
