Love the visuals in this - it feels very "warped fairy tale" in the best way, and the sprite animations were an excellent touch. I nearly jumped every time the mother leapt close to the screen - startling and off-putting, just like her character. Great music choice as well. Excellent work!

I love the use of visuals and expressions to convey the main characters view of her parents. The ‘mother’ especially really freaked me out and made it easy to relate to the hostility the MC felt. Very impactfull and well made!

I liked this entry. The art was unique, the dialogue felt genuine, and the application of sfx was spot on. Nice work

Naaaaaan!

Oohh, what a great use of visual design to convey your story. You nailed the tension of living in an unsupportive household, the battle of thriving vs surviving, dealing with a bystander parent…awesome work all around.

One of my favorite games played recently for sure. The story was so raw and real and I felt for the MC at every moment. Not only that but the art and sound design just tied everything together for an amazing story to experience. I adore the art and the animations that come with each of the characters!

Such impactful writing and characters! I gotta say my favorite aspect of the game is the dad, including the choices, writing, and art pertaining to him, it's just so organic and meaningful no matter what you choose. The animated expressions and jumps really seal the deal and add another dimension of life to the characters! / U \

This game struck me. The text effects used when the character is deadnamed and has the wrong pronouns used is fantastic. I have never felt those glimpses I have into dysphoria captured in such an apt way.

I loved the characters eyes and the stories they tell!

Thank you! The expressions was an important point of the whole story indeed. For the text effects, that was something I really wanted to use and that I had in mind since the beginning of the development!

Cohabitation is such a deeply vulnerable piece, not just in its prose but in the construction of key moments. The choice of where to hide the makeup, then undermined by the eyeliner pencil that the player and the player character forgot, is so effective at evoking dread and panic. This game does so much with just its eyes: The father’s restoration at the end — revealing that his daughter has his blue eyes — is so, so powerful. There is so much meaning in that particular moment, and I keep coming back to it in awe. It's really great work.

Thank you so much for your really kind review! :)
I'm glad that you noticed the father's eye color!

I have never hated a fictional mom more. You really nailed the feeling of discomfort in this game, as well as the general awfulness of being in this situation

Thank you for playing!! And yes, the mother was totally made to be as despicable as possible
