Great game! The idea is simple yet the game is intricate, difficult and a lot of fun. I did lose a couple of times and my browser showed an error message when I got to the game over page. I'm sure you've heard that already. I like the design to! Good luck!

Developer

Thanks! I am glad to hear it was fun. I had fun testing it but I could tell the difficulty could be challenging. Part of me wants to release the original version of the last level. It was so difficult that I had to do it perfectly. I couldn't even finish it testing my own game. Haha.

Cute game, the art has a lot of character music goes well with it. I would have liked a death animation and a bit of a delay before respawning (as someone else mentioned). Shame about the error when you die but these things happen with jams :) Great work.

Thanks! I wanted to do so much more, but it was a last minute choice for me to even ultimately decide I had enough time to compete. I'm glad I was able to. It was fun. Hopefully next time I do a jam, I have more time. I wanted to do Ludum Dare 47 but been working all weekend.

Love your art style and the music is very catchy. The gameplay is really smooth, there could possibly be a bit of a delay on being sent back to the start of the level for bonus style points but that's very minor. Great game!

Hey, first of the art was very good, gameplay worked, didn't encounter any bugs (Except the end screen, as you know), not sure if it was intentional to hear 2 jump sounds when you hold jump.

Theme was put to good use, good job :D

Developer

Thanks! I really appreciate it! The jump sound was an annoyance that I couldn't figure out. I am not great with sounds and this was my first time using Unity. I could not get the trigger I set up to work.

Alright! Art was excellent, awesome pallet choice and use of color. Sound was also very satisficing. I loved the controls, they were very smooth, utilized theme and limitation very good, yeah very nice! :)

Developer

Thanks! I appreciate it!

Hi - I reviewed your game :)

Developer

I appreciate your review! As to answer your questions, it was intended to have you jump higher the longer you held the button. (I should've put it in the controls but forgot.) The error comes from an issue with the "Game Over" screen. I'm not sure what it was, but I ran out of time to fix it. As for the collision, I had to switch to a capsule collider last second due to some unknown error with the tile map.

In any case, I appreciate your review and the critiques. This was my first game jam despite me having done game programming on and off for 6 years. I will definitely take some ideas into my bigger projects.

fun game! 😄 The controls feel good! (but I sometimes double jumped)

Good work!

Developer

Thanks! I tried to implement double jump but it isn't always accurate. I'm glad the controls felt good.

I dont know if this was intended but you dont need to reach the end of the level to use the finish flag. Allowing you to get 369000 points by just holding A.

Developer

Thank you for letting me know. I think there's a variable that isn't getting reset properly. And I'm pretty sure I know exactly what it is. Haha.
