Very cute game and if you get your time to read text as you progress and then restart and read more and more it is more fun that rushing it from the beginning (as I was doing at first). A bit buggy though which is totally understandable for the time limit and it is good you've fixed them already! ^^ Best audio so far for me.
This is really cute and I like the idea a lot. It also fits well with the theme! Sadly, I couldn't pick up the items most of the time, which made it impossible to progress... I would have liked to know how it ends! :)) Really well done though!
Nice game, as someone else also mentioned I could see the parallels to Minit. There was quite a bit of content in there and loved the style of the art. I also appreciated that you had the keys on screen during play as it was a fair bit to remember. A few points of feedback, it might benefit if the timer pauses when interacting with NPCs and the Restart key was quite close to the Interact and drop keys so I accidentally restarted the game a couple of times. Great job overall.
Thank you so much! π Yeah maybe I should take one more thing out of the Minit book by making the restart button a trigger on the controller or something so that its not pressed accidentally.. actually I pressed it accidentally a lot while testing haha π stopping the time whenever a dialogue starts seems like a good thing to do! (But maybe if you have to spend time to talk with the NPCs, it means you can dedicate a loop or two just for one person or event, which might be good too)
Thanks for the feedback!
This game could be really good for a jam game, sadly I experienced a lot of bugs with the grabbing and text bubbles. Anyway played it for a small while and got a good idea of the game, seems like you got a lot of done in a week, nice ! Easter eggs is a good add-on especially for this game, so good job on adding those.
A nice take on the theme! The art was very nice and the music was very soothing! Though it was a bit complicated for me to figure out how the game works, but the looped idea is really cool! Great game!
I love the artstyle! Very cute!
Regarding gameplay, it was difficult to interact with picking up items, sometimes I can't pick up things from the floor.
I like the concept of going back in time to save people, really well implemented feature!
Consider checking out my game too!
Good job!
This game was very cool and interesting. Tons of personality! And I like the concept of figuring out timing on different events. Unfortunately after you restart you can't pick up items again, so that makes it kind of frustrating. Very cool though! Best bear drawing ever
+ Love the art style and the feel of the game
+ I liked being able to interact with many things
+ Fits the theme really well!
- I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing
- I encountered quite a few bugs with the dialogue and not being able to pick things up when I think I should have been able to. I think with some more time spent on fixing bugs and maybe some hints for stuck players, this could be a really fun game!
I really like the art style. I did encounter the same bug as BarelyEvenGames where i couldn't see what the characters were saying. I also wasn't 100% sure what i was supposed to do, i assume i had to collect different thing
What a cool idea! Reminds me a lot of Minit which I absolutely adore. I think there's a great foundation for what could be an amazing game with a bit more time in the oven. I ran into a bug on my first playthrough where the text wouldn't show. The second playthrough I ran into a bug where I couldn't pick anything up. Then that's when I noticed that there's no way to exit the game that I'm aware of so I had to Alt-F4. Maybe that's because I was using a controller? I restarted the game and the text glitch happened again but I remembered about the cat so I was able to beat it really quick which was awesome! I'm assuming I beat it though because I smashed the clock, but the game froze and the text box was blank.
Anyway, I think the game is a great idea! I love that it can be beaten in a minute once you've gathered all the info you need. Good luck on the rest of the jam!
thank you! Yes, I love Minit too! and I was trying so hard to differentiate this game from it as much as I can π
I feel the same way too, thank you. I plan on expanding this idea π
unfortunately, I've spent the entire day today trying to solve this bug but I still haven't figured out why it happens :/ the only way to get past it is to restart the whole game (like turn it off and then back on again) as you did with Alt+F4
There's no way to pause or quit the game once you're inside (sorry) haha!
Actually once you've broken the clock if you take a closer look on what happens outside of the Inn, you might find something happening.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Yes, actually you can beat the game in multiple ways and at different times if you've gathered all the info!
Good luck to you too! π
