Going with a minimalistic graphic style worked well with your limited time. Postprocessing helped too. It's cool that you have added music and sounds. I think the game would benefit from more feedbak on actions. Music was definitely too loud, maybe add an audio slider or make sure that it is not overwhelming.
Ok :)
Good game. Some player feedback would be nice, for example an indicator when you hit the boss or a warning for where the lasers of the second boss will come.
Thanks for playing !!!
I'll try not to repeat any of the feedback below. I think you know what areas the game could be improved in and I applaud you for still pushing through and submitting a project, even with having to juggle school and other obligations.
My feedback would be that for future jams, maybe start on the art and animation last. What you got in was nice, but I liked the movement and wanted to see more bosses and attack patterns, so I think the time you spent creating art could have gone into more of the design and player feedback. Even if everything in the game looked like the main thumbnail image, it would still be a blast to play.
Clicking to fire every time wore me down a bit. I wish I could have just held the button to fire. But a great solo dev entry in the jam. You should be proud.
Thanks for the feedback EndmarkGames :)
Great visuals!
Some other participants already gave you some advices on improving your game, so I will not repeat it.
Nice job for after hours work. Keep up!
Thanks!!
So, respect for playing and rating this many games!
This game has stunning visuals, but is really lacking in pretty much every other area... I do understand that next to school and/or work it can be hard to work on a game.
Easy things to improve this would be hitmarkers or any other feedback for hitting enemies. The second enemy could use some kind of warning for when and where he is gonna attack. And just polish.
All in all this does have the potential, and if you actually work on this some more, you might just end up with a very good game!
Thanks for feedback ENDOBLANCE.
cool :D
I liked the visuals, the sound seemed very intense. One thing I would suggest to be changed/added first is feedback, I didn’t know if my actions where having an effect or not.
Keep it up!
Ok ;)
Fun game to pick...
I just hope you could add boss health bar and low down a laser sound...
Thanks for playing!!!!!!!
Great visuals but there are quite a few bugs, overall game is good just combat is a bit slow
Thanks for playing!!!!!
My goodness that was crazy. I think it needs both feedback to show that the player is causing damage, and some telegraphing on the laser part to show where it will appear. Overall though, well done. Wish there was more!
Thanks for playing :)
Nice little game. a bit short but that's ok for a jam.
for feedbacks:
I couldn't tell if I was hitting the boss or not (maybe add a life bar or flash the boss red or any other way to give feedback to the player that he's doing what he's supposed to).
I didn't seem to need the jump at all, if a player input is not needed you should remove it, or maybe add some side attack that you need to jump to avoid.
For that kind of shooter there's not really any moment when you don't want to shoot. so auto-fire would have been more practical.
Appart from that, it's a cool game. Congratulation on submitting it :)
Thanks for the feedback I will try update the game as soon as my papers are over.
Auto fire would have been awesome!
The graphics looks great, the sound effects of the red bosses laser sounds a little like when an old mobile phone would be put on vibrate.
But it was a fun game!
Thanks :)
i like the art and music but the mechanics arent very good wasnt sure if i was shooting the boss or not cause the bullets just went through him
I guess you got it wrong :|
because boss 1 has the ability to stop getting hit and the other one can only be damaged by hitting below his face.
Nice work! These bosses were terrifying!
:)
That was cute, i think it could be great to see the boss's health.
ok, I didn't make it because I don't have time
That was loud. Not too bad, I just wish it was a little quieter
Ok, Thanks for playing!!!
Fun and simple. Perhaps a little to easy to just stand still and fire. Good to finish and submit :)
nice game, i shat myself when the laser sounds played simultaneously XD
:)
Nice game!
Thanks for playing and we meet again!!!
A good start to a game, with plenty of room for expansion!
I understood the first boss ok and having little issue with it - although a health bar would be nice for the enemy. It took me a while to notice when the damage was taking place.
The second boss I never fully understood how to avoid damage. I could see no indication of when the beams would shoot down from the top. In the end, it seemed being off the ground somehow stopped the beams from where I was? Or maybe it was just luck.
Still - good job on getting this far! It's not easy to balance preparing for exams and game jam's! I wish you all the luck for them.
Thanks for playing !! you are right it's not easy to balance preparing for exams and game jam's!
Because I don't had time I made bosses attack 100% random :)
Understandable on the random front - I think the key part missing if you are to develop this a bit further is to have a "tell" for when the attack is going to happen. The first boss doesn't matter so much, but the second one for sure needs something.
hanks a lot your feedback was super helpful !!!
