The controls were a little hard. The room and execution of the game was great.
Played the jam version.
Could only get up to level 5 though because it failed to load anything. And pressing the reset button didnt do anything.
But it looked interesting and I like the concept. However I don't think I played it correctly as I was able to just ignore all obstacles by maintaining max height, then just fly in a straight line to the objective and drop the package on every level.
Controls were a bit slow to react and wouldnt reset between levels. It is also hard to tell how far I have set it to steer so it was hard to stop it from rotating.
I love the usage of the render textures for the camera views.
Great player feedback! I set an auto rotation towards the objective due to being spawned differently, that somehow affected the initial rotation of the turning lever. They also dont reset after game, which was just an oversight. I really appreciate you playing and commenting!
Big fan of the look here. Presentation was top notch and the overall concept is great. I found the controls for the drone to be a bit floaty, but kind of expected for a game jam. I would have loved if more sound effects were able to make it in, but I think the visuals make up for that. Great submission!
I was going for full rigidbody positional changes, but ended up with too big of variation. Like he would float all the way to the ceiling, fall all the way down and Impulse all the way back up. Getting it to hover wasn't feasible in the time constraints. So went with transform moves and a fake load.
I think I might keep working on this project... thank you for playing!
Haven't tried the updated version as I'm trying to get through as many jam submissions as possible but it was a great puzzle game! Very cool to have all the different camera views! The height lever was a little bit wonky on the build I tried but the level change was really smooth and cool! Man I wish you had time to add in some sound effects, that would have really put this game over the top! Great entry!
Sound effects were fixed in 0.1.1. I put all the info on level audio on the wrong audio manager instance. So worked in editor, but on build the main screen manager takes precedence. Thank you for playing!
Interesting concept of flying drone via external monitors. Some flaws with the mechanics. That unity push button sometimes doesn't work. We have used the same button, after a few hits it stops working for no reason. Thus we have changed it with a basic trigger button. Btw turn of the shadows for a performance increase. Frame drops kills the joy.
in your opinion, all shadows? Or only have one source?
In v0.1.2, I removed some cameras which really helped framerate, but not quite there yet. I was thinking next was to combine some meshes, but could try no shadows too.
Thank you for playing!
Only use baked shadows. Disable all other shadows. It made the real performance boost in my experiments. Start by disabling all. Also be sure to mark non moving objects as static. Than you can make the scene nicer by baking it. It takes quite long depending on your scene. So only do it when the scene is fully completed.
Cool mechanics and nice implementation of the drone flying. I really like the dynamic level load in and out. Maybe you could try to set the transparency of the spawned in objects from 0% - 100% in a very short amount of time to make it a bit more fluid.
It would mean a lot to me if you'd try my game Protocol PAR-C3L as well :)
oh like a teleport type shader? That would be cool. Thank you for trying our game!
Really great concept and had fun playing the bits I could - the frame rate was a challenge for me on my OQ, nothing a bit of poking around couldn't sort out though - nice job :)
Tell me about it, Oculus quest builds needs its own limitation and testing. So I went through and made some changes to the APK, seems to run pretty decently. Not as great as PCVR, but not too bad. If you get another chance v0.1.2 might be worth checking out to see some other levels.
Looks great and I enjoyed giving it a go. I did find it incredibly hard to play though, I was on the Quest 2 and the frame rate was low - great concept though!
Thank you for the feedback. The APK was the last thing we put together. I'm thinking its the additional renderTextures that are causing a lot of draw calls. I'm trying to figure it out at the moment to improve the frame rate.
I really enjoyed using all of the different devices to control the drone, and I loved all of the creative names! My only complaint was the low FPS on Quest 2 (around 12 FPS), but other than that, fun game!
Thank you Tankop, I just added v0.1.2 that makes a good pass at the framerates. Tris are in the right range, the drawcalls are still a bit high. Appreciate the feedback!
Hey Folks, v0.1 was the submission, it had a bug where the music wasn't playing. It has been fixed in 0.1.1. I also attempted to make the quality build settings a bit higher. PCVR does seem to look better. But unsure if it really fixed the APK. No additional content added.
Based on the FPS feedback, I went back and made changes to fix the Oculus Quest APK v0.1.2. Disabled some extra cameras and changed out level 0 to not include the 2k tris Satellite. Seems to run a lot better.
Overall pretty solid, keep going! I liked the idea, the controlling was sometimes a bit too fuzzy
No absolutely, I did the APK at the last minute and the compression is all off. Thank you for playing! =)
