I've also been interested in exploring recreating some gameplay from The Last Clockwinder. You've done a great job here and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to share the relevant code for that, or make a video that describes your methodology, or perhaps just point me in the right direction before I dive in myself. Thanks! Love your videos and tools.

Amazing game! I really like puzzle games like this where you have to think well your action to pass every level. Also the animation, the sound and the environment, fit very well together!

Developer

Thank you I am glad you enjoyed it

Wasn't too sure what to do at the beginning, but once you realize how the mechanics work... man this is a solid puzzle game. Definitely the most unique one, so 5 star for concept there :D

I've got no idea how managed to make this in 7 days, job well done

Developer

I am glad you enjoyed it
Yeah I didn't get the full 7 days so didnt get my usual level of polish on tutorials .. plus I built a level editor for it .. I don't know why .. lol

it feels so satisfying building up a pipeline. nice job! had a bit of difficulty figuring out the controls at the beginning, I was using the grip button all the time instead of the trigger one to lift boxes

Developer

Glad you liked it .. I admit its not my usual level of polish on the controls and interactive tutorials but then my time was cut shorter on this jam

I really enjoyed this experience, and was impressed by the execution and polish. It was fun to solve the factory style puzzles, and the "Last Clockwinder" mechanic was fun to play around with. Your skill and effort shine here.

I'm not sure you actually need the clockwinder stuff, though. I had a good amount of fun just solving the puzzles. I could imagine a version of this that you could play in an immersive first person way, then zoom back and play in a more traditional way.

I would have been helpful to have some kind of indication of how many avatars were available to me. If it was there, I missed it.

These are small critiques though. Really excellent work.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game

I really wanted reproduce and play with the Last Clockwinder mechanic in this game so might have shoehorned it in a little .. lol

Not my usual level of polish as my time was cut a little bit short on the jam, I agree a note on the number of robots and also a little more indication on when your recording.

I might revisit this recording mechanic in future as it certainly had potential

I really enjoyed this game, and could totally see it becoming a full sized puzzle game! The idea is very solid, and gives a lot to build off of.

I never really figured out the sweet spot to start/end the recordings, so recorded self would typically end up sitting still for a "cycle" while another box came through and fell on the ground. But I'm sure that would get refined with more time. I would also suggest putting an indicator on the first levels controller scheme which button grabs the box. I spent a bit longer than I probably should have trying and failing to use the grip button instead of the trigger to grab the boxes. And the final thing I noticed was when you paused the game, the recordings still cycled, so they would get thrown off if you didn't time the unpause right, or just restart the level.

Overall really good game though! Would love to see a more of it!

Glad you enjoyed the game

Not my usual level of polish around the controls .. the recording cycle could definitely use some tweaking, a few more passes and I think I would nail it, but time was not my friend on this jam and I got cut short.

So simplistic and yet so polished, it feels great to play! Mechanically it gave off a "The Last Clockwinder" vibe which is a good thing - you pulled it off!

It would mean a lot to me if you'd try my game Protocol PAR-C3L as well :)

Suggestions:

On one stage I recored one hand movement transporting a package and it only picked up every fourth. I understood its to synchronize movement of the player and packges. Maybe the sync loop could be narrowed down to one to make it really fluid.

Glad you enjoyed playing

The Last Clockwinder was a mechanic I was playing with here and I am glad about the comparisons .. I would have liked more time to get into the cycles and nail the sweet spot but time wasn't my friend in this jam and I got cut short.

No worries, we all know that cursed deadline creeping up on us, meanwhile bugs and features wait to be fixed and implemented haha.

I understood the mechnical reason why the cycles are like that and it didn't influence the rating in a negative way.

btw I posted an anweser to your comment on my page, explaining how to get the code to the robots.

its kinda confusing to figure out but very fun

Developer

Yep could have used my usual interactive tutorials but my polish time got cut short

Very fun game! Conceptually very interesting. Mechanically very smooth, though I missed hitting the end recond button in time a couple of times and it led to a missed box or 2 every loop. I feel like this wouldn't be an issue in a full game as I was getting better in the last level. The level progression was great and culminated in a final level that brought all the previous mechanics together nicely. Great game!

Glad you enjoyed the game

Agreed it does need more indication on the recording and also the cycles need a little more polish
