Getting the door done was quit the pain !!
but it was rewarding :D
Cool voice acting and cool environment.
Clever experience with a real message !
Yeah, it's definitely taught me a lot not just in terms of mechanics but also accessibility and ergonomics in design. A lesson I'll definitely bring into the next jam!
Nice work!! Love the clever style with voiceover and theme use.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! ๐๐
I liked the humor and the voice acting ๐
Thanks! I wanted a little bit of Stanley Parable vibe without being too much of a copycat ๐
The idea is nice and the story behind me think, overall a good experience! Just had some problems with the rotation and collision of the character, but for the rest is ok!
Interesting... if you don't mind, what version did you play? I didn't have such problems with the first build, but I did have to play around with object rotation for the OpenXR/Quest versions, so it's possible I borked something.
I played the quest version. For the rotation was like if the pivot wasn't centered, like if the camera was slightly more on the right respect the rig.
Ah, that makes sense. I didn't do any manual reset of the rig on launch, so it defaults to the offset from when you did the alignment of the headset (at least, that's what happened with the Rift). I occasionally had to do a manual view reset on launch to correct for similar issues. I'll look into making sure it's resolved in future projects!
Really cool concept! The game mechanics were pretty polished and I loved the level design in the part past the initial small room. My only suggestion is to decrease the amount of wood planks and nails needed for building the door, as it took too long to build.
Yeah, what was humorous on paper ended up being overkill in application. Repetition can be a good humorous element, but it almost ends up being a workout in this case. In retrospect, it would have been better to spread different instances out for variety, but hey--you live and learn.
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad it wasn't enough to discourage you before reaching the end!
Nice voice acting! Love the self-aware/meta style.
FYI, couldn't get controllers to track with SteamVR and an Index headset
Thanks for the feedback! I had issues with the OpenXR integration but I wasn't sure if it was because I was developing on a Rift S and so needed the Oculus framework. The multiplatform nature of VR right now has honestly been the biggest thing holding me back from jumping in to this point. If I can figure out a fix, I'll try to update the game listing (I'd also love to get a Quest build up if possible).
Feel you there. We've lost ages of time to cross platform work. It's especially hard if you don't happen to be a hardware collector and have everything on hand to test!
(Roaring Applause) Incredible! Amazing massage! Wonderful visuals! The actual game mechanics are a ting tedious, but this is overall a great VR experience.
Thanks! And I'm with you 100% on the gameplay. There were a few variety-adding ideas as well as cosmetic stuff I had to scrap because of not ending up having enough time to implement them, the irony of which isn't lost on me given the premise of the game ๐
Despite its flaws I'm still proud to put it out as my first game! ๐๐
