Love this game. As an old Wurm player and OG Minecraft player who feels the game is too fast for anything to feel like it has substance, VS is the perfect amount of hardcore sandbox. Just challenging enough to make you feel like youll never make progress, and incredibly rewarding when you do.

10/10 would die from eating a stew my friend didn’t realize he made with poison mushrooms again.

The cave is super cool to traverse! Some baked lighting would make a huge difference as well. Seemed some of the lighting was a bit morked (pitch black areas and some odd shadows) but otherwise the environmental work was superb. There are a couple spots you can get stuck as well but still great work for a jam!

I also had trouble on my Index but I will try this on oculus tomorrow!

If I’m reading your username right and you’re in Kansas City reach out to me on Linkedin, /in/mikenseer we can talk shop on VR

Ah... you were probably climbing. Our climbing system works such that if grip button is down and hand connects with a surface, then you will grab it. That way mistimed grabs aren't frustrating to climb with. But, if you play like me and hold grip buttons down when "holding" a gun, it's easy to get caught on stuff. And the first instinct isn't to release grip because you're probably holding a gun.

Could be something else, but I'm guessing that was it because it still happens to me because I white knuckle my controllers lol

Chillaxing. Definitely can see this being nice if you have a stationary bike setup at home! Or like, hotel gyms where you need to block out the world. Great work

Typing in VR is a hard problem to solve! Good on you for tackling it. This reminds me of a 'drumstick' typing experiments that Google did a few years back, type by playing a xylophone basically. Maybe you've already seen it, but here's an example that your work reminded me of:

Cathartic. Would smash all the things again.

As a fellow lover of fast paced VR experiences, it's good to see other devs in the jam taking some risks! Imo fast pace stuff can actually help with motion sickness. Don't give the brain anytime to think about it!

Haha, anyway I won't reiterate what others have said regarding feedback, you've got some solid ideas listed. Great work for a jam and keep on it!

Implemented with Shrek, 10/10.

But for real the concept hints at something that could be a super awesome VR game especially with how fascinated we all are with the apocalypse.

There aren't enough boating games in VR, good on you for tackling it! Also my vote always goes to anything hinting at "Water World" themes!

Thanks! Can I ask where/how you were getting stuck? We're trying to figure out where to improve. A big part is just knowing the controls (i.e. grip can climb any surface, and A on either controller dashes wherever you're pointing) which a tutorial would help. But I'm also wondering if the levels had broken geometry as we tried to design the player controller so it wouldn't get caught anywhere.

Also level 2 can be tough when the drones go hide on you lol

hah yeah sorry about the lack of tutorial 😅time crunch and all. We do try to design things so someone smashing all the buttons can figure things out, but we recently realized not everyone treats their controllers like cavemen like us. lol...

"Push forward gameplay" is something Scabbage preaches a lot, and its something boomer shooters do well that we tried to model. Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks! So you know the dash is based on the direction you point whichever controller you hit "A" on :) But we tend to point hands where we look in VR shooters so it works out!

Dark spaces scare me... 10/10.

I swear I wasn't so scared that I barely finished this experience...

Congrats on your restoration!

Sorting trash was never so satisfying. 10/10 would rebelliously put orange into blue in order to feel alive again.

Artstyle is moist. Game feel is moist. I rate this moist/10!

Great jam submission. As others have said you can tell there were more ideas you wanted to flesh out here. The third person format in VR is great, lots of potential to keep building on what you've started here!

Yup, it's hard to beat breaking stuff by breaking stuff! Super fun

FYI when tried on a Quest 2 with a link cable the game runs on desktop, has head tracking, but doesn't render to the headset.

Took a minute to figure out where everything went, but super satisfying once I did! Well done

Not what I expected, an anti-fishing game haha. Very well put together, clean, polished. Especially for a jam game well done.

10/10 for the social commentary. Would crush dreams again.

Woah the sparkler game is tough! Fun though. You really nailed the vibe as others have said, creepy yet comfy. I want to explore this world more

What a vibe! Super well put together and I loved the aesthetic. This would make a great slice of a bigger game that takes place in that grungy world.

TIL how to actually hold a revolver lol. 10/5 Use of Theme, would be the first one out again!

Great to hear its smooth on Quest 1! We mostly tested on Quest 2 but we've had some experience optimizing for quests.. by experience I mean living nightmare haha

Ah makes sense. As simple as it was, it was awesome to grab and place the belts but still be able to climb on them with trigger.

Hah, well talk about magical thinking on my part!

Hah, really good concept. Love messing with player scale in VR. Nice work, would love to see this taken further.  Also FYI, in your android build settings you may want to set the company name as my quest failed to install since it was all set to default as were some other jam games i had installed. Uninstalling the other games solved it, but it defaults to trying to 'update' the other apk's it sees with the same info.

Cheers!

Cute little experience.  I couldn't get grabbing to work on my left hand, and I didn't realize coffee cups weren't recyclable!

Love the tabletop/god view style. Lots of potential here!  The grip to move your view feels a little strange, I'd expected the classic Quill style movement where you can turn the whole world. But in any case this was really cool.

The environment is excellent, and I could really see this taken further into a full game. Each carriage having a different puzzle is great, and the stress of it all really adds a lot. I don't do spooky games often but this was well made!

Fun climbing around! Agreed with others on the climbing over ledges issue. But the intro part was great, pretty surreal

Incredible. Fantastic. Superb. Just a piece of art.  Button issues aside, once I figured out holding trigger then hitting the button was how to make it register, this was such a fun/funny experience! Great work

Was fun! You know you did well when it's fun to figure out the puzzles. I definitely blew myself up a few times lol

Excellent! Super fun and loved the aesthetic. While simple, this is very well executed. There could be some adjustments made for playing seated and such, but otherwise totally solid.

Fun! The boss fight was a nice touch at the end there. Lots of potential for the ideas you implemented.
