"This is all by design." Amen.
Well done!
Thank you! I really appreciate that, and your time and feedback. Glad you enjoyed!
Wow, a very narrative driven game! I like how there are monster characters as opposed to just monster targets. The white text on black looks great and is easy on the eyes, but I'm not sure how it'd print. Great work!
I appreciate that you got that. I really enjoy story where you can see WHY an NPC/villain acts the way they do...great counters to heroes that you invest more then a glance in, enhance the story in my opinion. This video really inspires any writing in that regard:
Cheers!WHOA we both used "the cast" for your monsters/NPCs. I really like the colors you picked for this zine, and the photoshop art work.
I really appreciate it. That is awesome...it kind of happened by "dad pun" accident. Bait the players with odd mystery, Cast out the monsters, Hook them with twist at end and possible continuation of this (fishing reference cheese, lol). Thank you for the time and feedback!
I really liked the red-colored text in between paragraphs. It helps my ADHD brain stay on track.
I appreciate the vibes you were going for, and I think a brief summary at the beginning would be a fantastic addition—similar to the summaries you provided for the inspirations. It would be a nice touch to set the stage for what’s to come.
I feel you on the ADHD brain. Did that for myself as much as for others. Great suggestion for the summary. I think the initial draft had that and then got lost in revision. Made a note and will add in in the 2.0 release. Thank you! Love the feedback!
I see this as more story/scene-driven than a "standard" adventure. Leaves room for GM interpretation. Love the maps.
That was kind of what I was going for without trying to feel "railroady." My Storytelling style is to set a scene a little to give a vibe and then ask the players describe what they see. I appreciate you noticing ☺️. Thank you for the feedback and wonderful remarks. Cheers!
Love the shadow descriptions. Very cool
Appreciate you! Sometime vagueness and the abstract can really be terrifying with just a little detail as a spark. I'm inspired by old horrors in that regard. Cheers!
The layout, art, and color palette all work nicely together to create a feeling of dread and unease that permeates the whole text. The adventure itself seems to play out as a series of events to be witnessed by the crawlers, with little opportunity for them to affect the course of the story. This will work fine with some groups, but players that want to get more involved could be frustrated. I love the distressed look to the maps. Including a link to some additional resources was a clever way to incorporate some additional content with limited pages available,
I truly appreciate the thoroughness of your review. As someone appreciates always finding room for improvement, this really helps in that regard. Glad that the mood was conveyed through the design, and will take your insight into more player-choice in the revision. Cheers!
Creepy vibes.
Indeed! Thank you for the feedback and time.
This is an amazing entry into Jam and is well worth a read.
Thank you for time reviewing, and I appreciate the kind words! Cheers
