very cute, I absolutely love the phoenix. controls are a little awkward to get used to, but great job. :)

Amazing! but i'd love more levels

I feel ya, i spent whole weekend and got few minutes of gameplay :D

short game, but a well polished game nonetheless, phoenix theme fits the topic pretty well :)

Like the movement only on wing flap, overall Great Job :)

Simple, yet very effective use of concept! I love the animation of the phoenix, the gif is really eye catchy. I think it's a great start for a bit bigger project. More levels, where you can gradually introduce new mechanics and new enemies, maybe some phoenixes abilities. Definitely would play that!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! When drafting the idea, I had a couple plans for more levels, enemies, and mechanics. But intentionally left those out to make it simple. Gotta test out if the idea is worth it first ya know :P

Thanks for playing!

Awesome storytelling and very unique art style! It may be simple, but I loved it.

Developer

Aw thanks so much! <3

Fun idea!

The visuals and sound are great. I found the game a bit buggy, one time I got stuck facing downwards. I could see this being a pretty good mobile game (especially if infinite).

I love the concept, would definitely play something like this on mobile. I fell to the bottom on the first try and got stuck, a quick restart button would be nice and controls could be a bit more responsive, but I like the custom art and great job keeping it simple!

There is an exit-to-menu button in case people ran into bugs, but I actually forgot to include it in the controls on the page. Whoops!

I really like the phoneix animations, they add some weight to it. I would like to see more levels...

This is a nice game. It is a cool mechanic that bird flight has some weight to it. This makes it feel real good. There was a time when the bird kept turning without me pressing the keys. It kept drifting. I really enjoyed playing through it.

Developer

Yeah the drifting was in since the beginning but was never able to resolve it. I think it's a quirk of how I'm blending my animations (because it also blends events which I use to change the player movement).

Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you liked it! <3

The idea is good and good mechanics! Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

I enjoyed the plot of the game and the Phoenix graphics. The controls need to be worked on but well done!

Submitted(+1)

Super short but nice and fits well with the theme!

Nice game. The controls can at times feel a bit unresponsive but not majorly so. The game is quite enjoyable (albeit quite short). Good job.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, there were some... quirks with the controls I didn't iron out in time :P

It is a fun and simple game with great visuals and sound, really creative and matches the theme well. Amazing job!

Developer

Aw thank you <3
