Well done on  physics game movement! Its bit hard to control but fun nontheless

I enjoyed the drifting mechanics and concept! The tire marks were cool! Nice Job!

The controls are awsome, some more sounds would be cool too ;)

Drifting feels great, good job!

It seems like people are wondering what our theme interpretation is. It is not through mechanics but rather through story and game design, as you cannot win or lose the game.

Submitted

Its not the typical interpretation of the theme, but its actually quite clever. Also the game is a joy to play, the controls are amazing and intuitive, great work!

THX, we're glad you liked it. We put a lot of effort into making the controls.

Super fun! I like the car physics! Great job!

I guess the game didn't include the idea well, but it was fun, but the music wasn't right

Pro tip, drifting is much more fun if you can't lose speed while doing so (at least imo), try cheating the physics a bit to achieve that

We will implement explosions and destructible objects in opur game after the jam. Crashing in the boxes felt very satisfying.
I personally did not like the mouse controls, although it was an interesting experience, never drove a car this way till now. But thats more personal preference than criticism ;)

What I missed was drift sounds. I think sounds for drifting would have made the game even more enjoyable to play. But nonetheless a fun little jam game I really enjoyed :)

The controls are smoooooooth, if there were some more handcrafted levels, it would be a lot better, but as it stands, it's still pretty good. My only real complaint would be the lack of polish, it didn't feel like there was enough for it to become anymore than a little arcade game. But, either way, Great game!

The drifting felt very nice. I found some "flow" just drifting around for a while.

It doesn't fit the topic in any way (apart from story ;) ).

As the comment below says, impact, camera shake would go down well.

I assume it's part of your inspiration, but if not I recommend you check out absolute drift. It's a fun game!

Our thoughts for the theme were to make a game where you "play with the concepts of winning and loosing". There is no way to lose or win, you just have fun. We thought about making the concept a bit like in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, where you get points for drifting around, doing tricks and combos. The system with crashing was our first idea and was easier to implement, but maybe it will have something like that in a future version.

When you put it like that... i DO see how it could fit the theme :).

So the only thing I would say then is - if it is only clear that's the intention because you told me, it means there needs to be something 'extra' that forecasts to the player that it's not about winning or losing.

For example: calling the game "drift meditation" and when you open the game you have to click "meditate" to start playing, would achieve this, I think

Cool game! The drifting was super nice and controls were very fluid. One thing I'd suggest is adding more impact to the crashes and explosions like maybe a camera shake and bigger explosions just to make everything feel more satisfying. Regardless, it was still quite fun to play. Nice job!

Thank you for your feedback. We thought the explosion was enough, but screenshake is an idea we will definitely try.
