This was very enjoyable to play and the idea is kinda similar to the one in my game :)

The game fits the theme very well and the game loop is cleverly built on it. Also presentation was pretty nice and worked well with the game.

Overall, really nice entry. Good job :)

I really liked the mechanic and the levels are well designed. I also liked that you can faintly see outside your light area.

This is very similar to my game!

I really like the condition of failure in this game as opposed to mine--a timer. It forces you to know each level very well, further enforcing the Failure is Progress theme. I also like how you can, just faintly, see parts of the level you uncovered. I turned up the brightness on my computer and used this to my advantage. But as everyone else has said, the jump is very inconsistent and it led to a lot of unfair deaths. Otherwise, the art and music fit the mood, and overall, I had a fun time.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing! I really tried to incorporate as much of the theme as I could. Sorry, yeah I know the jump is a big issue, but I'm glad you had fun!

Well done. This is really well put together and you got so much in there! I would maybe like a slightly larger radius on the light so i has a bit more time to react but other than that was really fun.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the light is a bit small, so I definitely can expand it further. Thanks for the suggestion!

Great game, i haven’t found any bug tbh, & it is very fun A Solid 4 out of 5

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing! It seems like you were one of the lucky few who avoided the bug, haha. Glad you enjoyed it!

I think that this is definitely an absolutely beautiful made game in such little time. I love the visuals, I love the sounds (That success sound effect is very rewarding to hear). Though it got super frustrating with the edges on raised platforms being bugged, causing you to gain no height when jumping. Once that's fixed, it'll be perfect to add too and make a fully fleshed out game!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the kind words! I do agree, the jump can be really frustrating. It's most likely because you sink into the ground, though. It does go away if you wait like half a second, but it's definitely far from ideal. I'm for sure going to release a post-jam update to fix the jump (and probably add some more polish). I appreciate the suggestions!

I'm glad to know you can fix that cause otherwise, awesome game!! I've gushed about it to some friends in game dev

Very good game! I think the collisions with the water could be a little more forgiving but the level design was well thought out. Good work

Developer

I agree the collisions are a bit precise at times. Probably because I used a tilemap. Maybe I could've overlayed a collider or something. Thanks for the feedback!

Really good game. Only problem I have is that the jump sometimes gets "eaten", the sound effect plays but I get no or pretty much no distance.

Other than that: It is great. I like how you really use your previous attempts to scout the level, making it visible for the next attempt. It is a simple mechanic that you just instantly get. The theme also works really well with it.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the jump is pretty frustrating at times. I wish I'd caught it earlier, but I guess that's part of game jams. Anyway, thanks for playing!
