j'adore <3 merci pour l'expérience

love the design! :o

I usually just mix it with water (which I guess could be milk for fancy people) + sugar/stuff and then cook it either:
- boiling water and then adding the semolina little by little while mixing (a bit like oat porridge)
- in the microwave, if I remember correctly it takes some rounds to get to the proper texture

I think it's called semolina pudding? It can also be done with any type of flour, both in pot and microwave (but idk if I would recommend the wheat flour + microwave version, which I used to make years ago but has a slightly dubious taste I think xD)

Ohhhhhhhhh I just found the couscous section ok, don't know why I didn't think of the word! in French we call it "semoule de couscous".

If I understand correctly, semolina is the smoother grained version then? Then I never used semolina for salty dishes, but I've used it for fast desserts, with sugar/cinnamon/chocolate powder, since it has a more creamy texture than couscous.

Replying here cause fae is my friend x) and also I 100% agree with them.

I am actually already an amateur of sad bastard cooking, as in, most of my meals are any combination of bread/semolina/pasta/rice + hummus/tomato sauce/pesto. I don't know if it's common in other countries (or in your book sorry, I have just started reading it), but semolina (coarse ground wheat) is the best thing, basically like pasta in terms of role in the meal, but you just need to add steaming water (not even boiling) and it's ready in 5 min. Maybe even faster than ramen :p
(also omggg tomato sauce on toast is sooo underrated, in France at least)

A lot of my friends judge me for my food habits... so I agree with fae that having such a nice book might bring us bastards some sense of legitimacy x)
And of course I'm also super happy to see many new ideas and variations :-)

Thank you so much for this book!!!

thxxxxx
me put colors :3

Woowww so stressful omg xD I was very freaked out by arrows coming from unknown places... I don't think I'll ever see tower defense games the same way again lmao.

Very polished entry :-) Didn't go past level 3, but I really enjoyed the concept and the feeling of the game. Like some others said, it's maybe a bit frustrating to not keep our upgrades from level to level, but I guess that would make it harder to balance (because you could have very fast yetis x)).

Also, I really loved the little illustrations! <3

I'm still not sure I understood the game, but as long as I kept on consuming the objects I never lost? Which is a bit confusing because I guess that in order to remain non-glorious I would have to not use too many objects? :-s

Anyways, congrats on finishing a game with so many features in one week-end! and very nice take on the theme (which I guess is also part of why it's hard to understand, since we're so used to playing the running person x))

Nice game!! :-)

I liked the negotiation storyline, which gave me Undertale vibes. I also liked that the hero was so scary, and not saying anything, because that's what it's like in a lot of games (that the player cannot speak).

I couldn't tell how scripted it was, because I played twice and both runs were very similar but in the first I killed the hero twice, and in the second I couldn't manage, so now I'm curious as to whether there's a "good" ending for us...

Omg we have the same game concept, kindof!! (ours is a mouse that is able to kill cats and snakes once she eats cheese)

Nice little game :-) especially love the bird sprite!!! it's gorgeous.

... OK

True

Wowww very cool game! Very polished visually :) and juicy, loved the explosions x)
I played for a long time because I didn't realize I could right click for like 10 games xD
My highest score is 480, but all of my games were very chaotic, also I just kept on getting killed by my own friends lmao.

Nice horrible painting in the back x)

The game is hectic! The only time I managed to beat heroes was when they stopped moving for a few seconds with no apparent reason (maybe a bug? but a convenient one lol).

Also I don't know if it's normal but I never got more than one spell? (but maybe they get unlocked after some levels, I never went over 3 heroes in a row)

This was fun! It was kind of annoying that it restarted from lvl 1 every time though, because it made it very long to reach back your previous level of advancement x) So I don't know if there was an end, but I stopped at lvl 6.

As a graphic designer I would suggest not using Comic Sans as a font, it tends to hurt the eyes of visual artist people :p  Nice poop theme though x)

Congrats on finishing this little game :-) The art is super cute and lively!
I'd love to see new features implemented :-)

(1 edit)

It says I can't play the game because I'm missing Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime :-(

Nice job making a full playable game alone! :D
I liked the concept, especially when I started the game I was like, what should I do? And then I saw the little thingy on the ground hitting me with its little bow and I was like "OK so this is how a boss feels" xD

The feature I missed the most was some audio/visual feedback when I hit the enemies!

Thanks for the game!

Shit this is clearly the funniest game I've played so far xD
The voice lines are incredible.

The movements were a bit messy but I thought that most of the time in contributed to the aesthetics of the game (like at some point I got stuck, my face down on the initial platform, with the character saying "WAHOO" xD).

The vomit bonus. Great addition.

Interesting choice to make this with 3D graphics. Not a fond of 3D in general, but in this case I think it added to the "slightly broken but very dumb and funny" aesthetics. Still, the gray background and the saturated blue hurt my eyes a bit x)

Overall I couldn't really get to reliably high score. At some point I did a 14k score by just spinning forward, getting sick and dodging platforms, but never got to do it again.

Cool entry!

Loved this! Had a first run where I finished the Mario pretty much without advancing the Zelda part, I was starting to think that the combo theme was a bit weak in the gameplay (because it seemed more advantageous to just do one game at a time). But then the timer started and I rushed through the Zelda part, failed and lost xD

I really loved the art, it's very cute, and there's a lot of it! It gives off the same vibe as the original games, although a lot of the assets are more detailed and the color palettes are quite different (but in a good way, at least from what I remember). So great job there!

The concept is very cool, and contrary to what I've read in other comments, for me it pretty much falls under the "combo" theme. Not in the usual meaning it has in video games, but because you need to win two games at the same time, which is a cool take on it!

I guess the theme would have been even stronger for me if I really ended up moving in both games *at the same time*, but it was too hard for me. I almost always alternated between one and the other.

Still, impressive entry, I really enjoyed it! :3

Wooooowww so cool to try the three builds, I didn't know about this jam! Very cool little game, the arrow thing was very instinctive.

A fun puzzle! Took me a few trials to get the thing, and then I made it to the "You win" screen. If anything, maybe I would've like a bit more complexity, but for a jam game it has quite a few levels already!

Congrats!

This game was very hard for me!
I think the fact that non-rotating sabers didn't work made it too complicated for me, but I guess it also makes sense since you want people to move around?

Overall a really cool, very finished and polished game! Thanks a lot for making it, I had a great time playing! :)

I loved the graphics, especially the reward at the end, for an artist like me, clearly it was the best reward to see a pretty pixel art sprite x) Everything fits well together, and especially I found that the skulls looked very cool.

I also loved the sound design, fits the mood very well, and the voice acting is a really nice touch.

The levels are nice, I'm not much of a puzzle person so often when I play them I just the move the tiles halfheartedly until it fits, but in this game I ended up making strategies and thinking about constraints, so great job! Especially I loved that some of the last levels were 3x3, it's always nice when complexity arises from very simple-looking problems (like a "oh this is easy... oh wait" feeling).

Just one downside, it was hard for me to get used to the controls. I often wanted to just click on two tiles to exchange them, so the fact that the tile stayed selected until re-clicked made me do mistakes in the beginning. I also think this "move one tile at a time" thing makes you believe as a player that the movement is going to be a constraint (like in a fifteen puzzle), when it's the positions that are constraints. But maybe the game feel is still better like that, because it adds more physicality, it's just a thought I had while playing.

Amazing job!

I love the title screen so much xD

Overall the game is very intuitive, and very polished! I really appreciated the undo button for example.

The angry domino mechanic was a bit hard to play with in the beginning, but it was an interesting touch, as well as the joker thing, that made the combos much more fun!

Such a cool idea!

It looks quite neat, I was amazed to see that you actually drew the individual flags, and I think it really adds to the overall looks of the game. It was nice looking at the full picture once I finished, especially since the flags sometimes end up being somewhat classified by color zones.

The system was a bit confusing in the beginning, like understanding what mattered (color, shape, position, etc.), but the little tutorial pages were enough, and the idea is overall very cool. I pretty much didn't use the whole flag stock however, and only picked from one or two slots (but probably did not play very optimally!).

The audio ended up a bit too repetitive for me (and the "combo" sounds were a bit too loud for me).

Congrats on this game!

This... is incredible. Definitely a mood xD

There's a point where I got stuck in a hole and could not get out :'(

Took me a lot of time to understand how to scroll the screen xD
It's a bit weird that choosing the wolf is never optimal? But I guess the cooldowns can make it worth it sometimes?

The concept of fusing animals together made me laugh x) good take on the theme!

Overall the game probably lacks a bit of balancing, like everything is very slow.

Oh shit I just commented on your game by choosing it randomly on the list xD (and our games look like each other a lot!)
Thanks for trying it, I hope you had a good time :)
And you're right for the feedback, we didn't have the time to include it :'(

Had a great fun with this game!!! The rhythm works really well, and it's nice that you can choose to break your combo to make the enemies slower. Loved it.

So glad to read this comment! When we had the idea we didn't really know if we were going for the right thing, but I guess if you played for +30 minutes we can call that a success <3
And very thematic that you played this instead of sleeping for school xD

Thanks a lot for leaving your experience here :3

Played a few times, it was fun. It's nice how complex it can get although the basis is really simple. Makes me want to see developments, like funnier effects and synergies.

The idea might be dumb, but I regularly do game jams (in multiplayer mode), and often, the person that hosts the game on their itch page receives way more visibility than the other creators, which is a shame because most of the time we all contributed equally.

My suggestion would be to add a "Follow XXX" on the menu on the right for all contributors of a game, to try and reduce this effect.

Not very fun, but very interesting experience.... I think?

Wow, so fast! Glad you liked it :)

Thanks! <3

Wooow cool :D thanks a lot!!

Loved it so much <3

It's a very cool game with a strong atmosphere. Love the look of the shader, it felt very real. Could use a custom mouse pointer!
