Ah yeah I probably could have indicated how movement works better.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm glad you appreciated the occasional gift :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you liked it :D

I really liked the retro pokemon vibes of this game! I also did get the easter egg :D. I would have loved to have more areas to explore and things to discover, but nonetheless I enjoyed the experience.

Overall, nice job! :)

This game is very atmospheric and moody. I loved the torch mechanic - it made me feel like I was truly exploring the unknown. The checkpoint mechanic was also really nice.

I eventually hit a point where I didn't know what to do. I got to the first checkpoint, and was able to see some porcupines but couldn't ever get to them to use my handy dandy boots. I went up and then left, and that didn't lead anywhere. I also went to the right past all the floating platforms above the void. Eventually I ran into a wall that was too tall for me to jump up. I'm not sure if I missed a control or not during the tutorial - I learn a lot better when I can try out the controls while I'm being told how they work.

Nonetheless, I really liked the theming and the humor. I wish I was able to get further. Nice job :)

I liked how the game made you feel desperate at the start, and then you started to get your footing with enough generators and turrets. The furthest I could get was wave 7. Also, the mechanic where your money was also your ammo was very interesting to play around with. I think the new player experience would be improved if the difficulty of the waves ramped up a bit slower.

Overall, nice game!

Nice game! I really liked the visuals, and the double jump mechanic felt very smooth. I had some trouble with the rolling mechanic; getting the timing right with that one was really hard and I only got it to work once. I think it would be really cool to have some sort of shop to spend all of your hard-earned coins.

Overall, great job!

This is a challenging but fun fast-paced parkour game. I had a lot of trouble with levels 2 and 4, but after I tried it a few times I figured things out and beat them :D. I figured out you can run faster by walking diagonally, which I thought would help a lot but at the end of the day I had to learn the levels and how to dodge. I liked the music too, it was a great addition to the vibes of the game.

I think the game could use some more feedback for when you use an item - I got confused about that since nothing graphically changes until the item is completely gone. For example, maybe an FOV increase with the speed buff could help.

Overall, nice game! :)

This game is really cool! I liked being able to mess around with different army compositions, and change up the level size too. The AI cowers before my army of dragons :P

I think the game would benefit from adding audio/animations to help the player understand what's happening during combat. I didn't realize until later that the dragon could perform ranged attacks, and in an AOE too! Sometimes the ranged attacks don't do anything, which could either be the dragon missing or a bug. Not sure which.

Either way, great job! :D

This game is incredibly relaxing! I love the cat animations, and the chill music. The crafting mechanics are fun, and I would love to see them expanded upon :)

Overall, great game! :D

Very cute and chill puzzle game :)

The vibes are immaculate! I loved the cutscenes, music, visual effects, and everything.

I loved eating the poor villagers. I kept getting stuck on the section with the king, where you get your arms. I couldn't tell what I was supposed to do, and then I got sent to the very beginning of the game which was a bit demotivating :*(

Nonetheless, great game :)

I love how *crunchy* it feels to kill the enemies, and combo with melee + ranged attacks :D

Not sure how I felt about the levels where even if you don't move, enemies will find you near-instantly. Maybe pause time until the player does their first input, so they can get their bearings before dying?

Either way, phenominal experience. Nice game :)

The reloading mechanics are really cool, and I was excited to try out both weapons against shadows. But I couldn't figure out how to fight any enemies. Is that a bug or am I missing some sort of button press I need to do to start fighting?

It took me a second to figure out which rocks I needed to grapple at first, but I figured that part out. The controls feel very responsive, especially with the goofy sound :)

I think it would be cool if as you got higher, different obstacles started showing up to make things more difficult. Like crumbling rocks that break after grappling them for a second or two, or moving rocks or whatever.

Overall, nice game!

I got a score of 26500! The graphics for this game are gorgeous, and I love the music too!

The rhythm part of it was really hard - I got better as I went but I never really figured out the rhythm for the purple instrument. I was great at the yellow one!

My favorite part is when you swap between yellow and blue :)

That works! I've sent you a friend request :D

Heya! I do currently have a team together with a few people. We don't have a solidified idea yet, but will be throwing ideas around tomorrow night to figure that out. Is there a way for you and me to send private messages?

Sweet!

Hey hi howdy. I'm trying to figure out if this would be a good jam to do if I wanted to make a dungeon-crawler game from scratch. So long as I make a game with a single dungeon following the core themes, would that be in the spirit of this jam?

Yuuup hahaha. We spent like 5 hours designing a spreadsheet of the items / events in the game. Not sure why we couldn't figure out then that we were gonna break the 3 hour per person limit but yeah. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome game! It reminded me a lot of Monument Valley!

Loved the atmosphere and shadows!

Wasn't a fan of how the text paused the game completely, and interrupted gameplay. I know disabling text is an option, but I would like to know what's going on in the characters head. Perhaps letting the character talk while I move is a solution.

Nonetheless, awesome job!

I made a horror game too if you're interested :3

Beat the game second try! I liked the random level generation, art style, and item collection schtuff.

Would be cool to have some sort of distinguished boss-room, so I can decide to explore and get more items before running into the final boss. Also - I'd say the flower projectiles home in so well it feels almost unavoidable damage, in the rooms where you must kill 3 or so flowers.

Nonetheless, nice job!

Nifty bossfights! You should put the controls on your itch page (arrow keys + z/x) cause it took me a few moments to realize what was happening.

The santa bossfight felt very well balanced. The easter bunny fight felt very difficult because the eggs were constantly homing and the only way to beat them was to shoot them or jump off the edge of the map in spite.

Sweet game!

Nice relaxing minigame game! I really liked the 2.5d art aesthetic. Loved the maze game. The ball game had some walls which didn't collide properly. The third level, where you have to go around the entire edge without falling off, I was able to skip that entire part by phasing through one of the blocks and getting to the inner loop.

Nice Job!

Nice zombie shooter! Killed a good 63 zombies before I died.

I noticed a "crackling" noise from the rifle sounds if I held down left click. This is happening because you're cutting off the "shoot" noise from the first shot by playing the shoot noise from the second shot. The crackling is caused by huge jumps in audio waves. You can fix this by utilizing AudioSource.PlayClipAtPoint.

Nonetheless, awesome job!

Got stuck on the second screen because I couldn't quite figure out how to get that high up. I was trying to double jump / wall jump but my character wasn't able to do it.

Side note - if you change the Character's rigidbody setting called "Collision Detection" from Discrete to continuous, then the character won't flash into the ground when falling at high speeds.

The character movement felt pretty dynamic btw.

Gosh the 2nd phase with all the heads is so hard xD

Would be cool if the heads did some sort of flashing or something so I knew which one was gonna fly at me at lightspeed.

Nice job though! Take a look at my game if you're interested :3 Rate In The Dark by BirdCat Nate, AstronomicalZ, Cristian for Brackeys Game Jam 2022.1 - itch.io

Short but sweet. Kinda bittersweet but ya know. Left more of an impression than I thought it would for a 30 second experience

Neat little mindbending game! It was a nice learning experience.

I figured out how to do it with only three buttons: 00, +i and *i. I used *i to rotate my character 90 degrees. Then I could use +i to move up one vertically. If I moved vertically, rotated 90 degrees, and used +i again, it's sorta like moving horizontally (or at least perpendicular to the "vertical" movement). So with those two I could reach any flower I wanted and If I got too far out I could just reset.

Nice job!

I loved the game idea! The visuals were very clean too.

I found it a little bit frustrating when I was killing some dude in one corner of the game, and a dude appeared in the opposite corner out of my sight. And he got to the dream without much recourse. I figured it's best to stay as close to the dream as possible, but enemies still snuck in out of sight sometimes.

Nice job!

Man taking away my note of trusted codes on the second day was evil LOL.

It took me a bit to realize  I was supposed to type my own code in if I'm broadcasting a trusted guy. Took me another bit to find the note with the trusted code list. I restarted the first day a few times until I figured it out cause I felt like I was messing everything up.

Very immersive game!

Nifty game. I got a high score of 1067+!

I kinda cheated though cause I went into serious debt (-60 points) to fill my with only white buffers. It'd be neat to be able to see my high score at the end, rather than instantly going to the main menu. Nonetheless, it's an enjoyable 10 minute experience.

Enjoyed it! Capped out three surgeons, both campaigns, and finally bought the last floor. But, I wasn't able to buy any beds because of some sort of bug :(

The theme reminds me of Dr. Barber, the guy from a cartoon called Flapjack. Would be cool to have sound effects in at some point!

I love the fear mechanic! I initially was scared to stand next to the enemy, which is incredibly ironic lol.

Would be cool to have fear scale higher if you're closer to an enemy. That way, if the player wants fear they can force it to be super high. But if they don't want fear and they stay away from enemies, you can still maintain a separate fear rate for balancing reasons.

Also, the main character felt really dynamic, especially with fear active. This felt super great after playing a zillion platformers in the jam where playing the characters felt like swimming through syrup.

Cool game!

Heya, I liked the bossfights! Yes they were a lil punishing but it's always fun to be fighting an enemy that's incredibly stronger than you.

The main character did feel a little "slow". He does have the dash which is my favorite move. It'd be cool if his walking were a little more dynamic too.

Nice job!
