The atmosphere in this game was perfect, I found myself freaking out about the slightest motion in the shadows. Great job. :)

Very creepy, nice shadows with the lighting. I think I beat the game but then it let me keep playing and I could not find the last exit?
I really like the mood and the use of lighting in this game! the audio made it quite creepy. Some interactions weren't so clear. For example I wasn't sure when/why I was losing sanity. I wish I could skip the text with a key as well
Good job!
Spooky atmoshphere. Loved the assets, sfx and bg music. At the beginning I didn't understand exactly what was te purpose for the "door compass" on the bottom right of the screen, but then it became clear. But does the maze change every 4th door used? And does it have and end?, because my maximum was 13 escapes and I was still trapped.
It became a little bit annoying after a while that when trying to escape through a door you got automatically reset to the starting position.
There's two aspects to the game, you can either try for a high-score (as many escapes as possible) or try and find the secret ending and really escape. The maze becomes bigger every 4 doors and the enemies that spawn at the middle are your former selves, they do exactly what you did, one for each previous escape. That's why we reset you to the middle, so that you can both follow your past selves but also have to avoid them. We could've communicated this more clearly (we felt too many hints would've taken away from the spooky, mysterious atmosphere).
The secret ending is more of an Easter-egg, the real game is supposed to be going for a high-score (our internal record is 18 escapes). To unlock it, you need to find two items and then you'll get a textbox with a strong hint on what to do next. The items have a high chance of spawning early, and they remain in the same spot until you find them.
Wow super creepy haha! Well done setting up a great spooky and mysterious atmosphere! Great job!
Loved the atmosphere and shadows!
Wasn't a fan of how the text paused the game completely, and interrupted gameplay. I know disabling text is an option, but I would like to know what's going on in the characters head. Perhaps letting the character talk while I move is a solution.
Nonetheless, awesome job!
It's a clear trade-off that we discussed multiple times in the team. If we allow walking, you lose sanity and might get attacked by an enemy while reading, which is also not ideal. But maybe we should've made it an option as well (we do have options for the speed at which the text appears though.)
Thanks for the comment and for playing!
Interesting and really unsettling game, built the atmosphere really well! Nice little cut scene with the mirror!
Daaaaamn, that's the creepiest atmosphere I've seen in a game so far ! The art and audio are really on point, bonus points for the heartbeat =p !
The concept is good, but I don't know if I was unlucky with the RNG, but it was really hard to keep track of the maze evolution and I just ended up using the basic strat of "always following the same wall". Maybe something like showing the path of your previous run could help greatly to have a better idea of the layout ?
I did 3 runs, found a mirror that spawned a ghost in my second run and a dog in my third, but couldn't get out, so I don't know what it did ^^'.
Also... I don't understand everything, but... "Strange children, they never forget to forgive me, [???] command, I wonder, I wonder", what is that xD ?
Overall, a nice game, GREAT ambiance, but it needs just a bit of polish gameplay-wise for the maze to be even more interesting and fun to go through ^^.
This game's atmosphere was quite unsettling in the best way possible good chap. I'd rather loved the eerie sound effects paired with the music playing in the background. The replayability is quite strong, indubitably, good show!
Great sound design - I love how the heartbeat is in rhythm with your "health". Overall great ambiance.
P.S. The fact that the teddy gives you comfort is so cute. Nice touch!
Very nice game, I really liked the mirror scene. The audio is also a big +. It was really fun
Maze generation was cool. Would have liked more pickups. Over all nice game! :)
Hi I made it to 11 escapes but later on I didn’t see any or very few ghosts of myself. I only had one pick up and one light during my run. Most of the corridors were empty except for a few paintings on the wall every now and then. I think it might be cool to leave something like breadcrumbs or something as you go so you kind of know where you’ve been maybe.
The game feels scary, so well done! Also the art and the music are pretty good.
