I have an inquiry about the usage of Text To Speech (TTS) programs. I understand that using AI is prohibited, but I see a problem when we're looking at the usage of TTS programs. They are similar to sound synthesizers or programs to compose music or something in that area (pardon my lack of knowledge on what to call them) where it generally uses a thing called soundfont or something that can be regarded as a collection/library of sounds/instruments.

It is true that no human speaks/records the speech generated by the TTS programs, but the same can be said for music created using those programs. Most people would just slap the notes on the program, and convert them to a sound file and that's it. It'll be rare to find someone who plays and records the instrument themself after composing it inside the program.

"But the note used on the program is actually recorded for real by someone". Well, TTS also required the voice provider to record every important sound (alphabets, certain words combination) by themselves. It's just that they never record a full word by themselves, similar to how the music programs never record the full piece by themselves. We can regard a word on TTS as a small composition on music programs.

So, what's the ruling on this matter?

I'm asking because a robotic voice might be hard to record without playing a lot with effects, or maybe someone would like to make a full monotone voiced game.

This is an amazing game! I like the concept to use the rollers to play around, it's been a while since the last time I play some sort of free-to-explore racing (? I don't know what umbrella term I should use here) game. Rollering around is so much fun in this game, and there's some visible checkpoint enemy that we need to hit that makes it even better than just roaming aimlessly.

The music also set the atmosphere of the game greatly! May I know where I can find the music that you use in the game, especially the one that's played in the early stages? I want to have them on my music playlist. XD

By the way, I streamed the game below around minute 173 in case anyone wants to watch it. Not that I got any good score though. XD

This is an amazing game with a great level design! I had a lot of fun when playing this game!

I streamed the game here around minute 25 in case anyone wants to watch it.

I like that there are many options that you have in this game. You can catch and throw snowball from range, or goes into melee instead and attack the enemy using the spork, and you can also eat the snowball to recover the HP. The mechanics feel complete, just need to be polished more. The difficulty spike on the final enemy is too high though. XD

I streamed the game here around minute 95 in case anyone wants to watch it.

This is a very fun game! It's hard but doesn't seems to be an impossible task. I like going fast. XD

I streamed the game here around minute 5 if anyone wants to watch it.

This game is a funny experience for me. I died once because I'm too hasty on proceeding without letting the heat restored, and after that proceed to finish the game by moonwalking around half of the way. XD

I streamed the game here around minute 88 in case anyone wants to watch me play.

This is ultra kill.

This a nice puzzle game and there are tons of levels inside it. Good work for a game made in 3 days! I was stuck on Level 6 when playing it, but other levels are fine.

I streamed the game here around minute 5, in case anyone wants to watch it.

This is a good game in a lot of aspects. First, the fish collection is diverse and not just a reused asset from other fish (although there are the U, C, and N fish). Not only that, but each of the fish descriptions is also written well enough that it doesn't feel bland or rushed.  I also like that you are more likely to get the fish that you never caught before in this game.

Last but not the least, the animation is superb. Each round of fighting the fish has some hilarious stuff going on. Love it. If I could ask for something, please add round 7.

I streamed the game here around minute 50 in case anyone wants to watch it.

This is an interesting sleigh-racing game. The AI looks so good and I think balanced. Spent like 1 hour on the game here (start around 1 hour mark after the stream starts), and finally managed to beat the Bunny Hell campaign after a lot of tries on the last stage. XD

I was hoping that there's something extra for completing that mode, so I'd suggest adding them for future updates if there are any planned. :)

I like how diverse the way to get the snowflakes inside the game is. Collecting all of them is so much fun. Love the game!

Btw, I played the game here around minute 26, in case anyone want to drop by and watch. :)

This is the kind of game that I want to play when I just want to chill out and forget any problem that I had for a moment. The music is so calm, not to mention how gracious Cirno is when she is skating. XD

My only complaint is the camera movement. The movement is kinda wild so I had to keep the camera almost static during my entire run and only move it when I really have to move it.

I played the game here around minutes 2 in case anyone want to watch. :) Love how you gave the player 9999 perfect freeze after they got all objective so they can enjoy the game longer.

Nice game there! I like the game mechanics and the graphics. One thing that I realized after playing it for a while is that you don't have to clear all black stuff to advance to the next level. Dunno if this is intentional or not.

I streamed the game here around minute 41 if anyone wants to watch:

The disclaimer on the game page made me worried when I start the game, but man this game is actually playable with no problem, at least on my end. There's something that bugs me though. In the first stage, I managed to walk outside of the screen and it act like a shortcut. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

I streamed the game here around minute 2 if anyone wants to watch:

Great job with the game! Love the graphics!

I played this game expecting that it'll end in around 30-45 minutes but somehow it took me around 1 hour and 30 minutes to clear it. YOU LIED TO ME! /jk

I love how great the narrative is. Diotima feels alive as a character, and the other characters' conversations are also great. Having multiple ways to clear some stuff is also a plus. There was a time when I was like "oh no, I skipped X haunted part and didn't get Y argument, what should I do with this one that needs Y argument" and I found out that I can use another argument to solve them instead. The spoilerless walkthrough is more like hints than an actual walkthrough, but I get that it's kinda hard to make a real walkthrough without spoiling anything in this game.

The only problem that I encounter while playing the game is the one that I need to do to advance Suika's conversation. I didn't notice if there was any change after the first 'QUESTION', so I kinda stuck there until I open the spoiler walkthrough. But only for that one. The rest is kinda solvable if you think hard enough. I did try to do some brute force methods which fail miserably, but I actually managed to solve them when I stop and thought for a while.

Great job with the writing there!

This game is great! I don't know what I was doing and somehow I managed to clear it! Totally staying truthful to the title XD.

I love how the visuals on this game are made and executed, like the Youmu's sprite, the explosion, and heck even the grass is animated XD. It is a nice game, but I think it needs more enemy variations. After you realize that it's only the ghost that chasing you wherever you are and the Kedama is only chasing you when they are inside your screen, the is no longer difficult since as long as you can kill the ghost fast enough, the rest of the enemy, that being the Kedamas, can be wiped easily.

I played the game until stage 3 or something, but I'm not sure if there's an end to the game so I stop. Good job on the game though!

I streamed the game here around minute 84 if anyone wants to watch:

I like almost everything on the game if not all! The story, the graphics, the gameplay, the sounds. Everything is just gorgeous!

There's just one suggestion that I'd make. That is to tell the bomb skull etc function/description before their respective stage introduction instead of after the tutorial. This is because I didn't manage to remember all of the information that is given after the tutorial. For example, I don't know what the bomb does so I kinda avoid it, treating it's a dangerous thing to eat, and I don't know that it can destroy a big chunk of block inside Suika's stomach. However, it's still a great game nonetheless! Great job on the game!

I streamed the game here around minute 58 if anyone wants to watch:

I didn't realize that I actually don't need to steal all of the sake. I just need to steal as much as the gourd can contain. The ghost can be annoying sometimes but I think that's the challenge of this game so I guess I shouldn't complain there XD.

I streamed the game here around minute 43 if anyone wants to watch:

Nice RPG Maker game!

I see the disclaimer that this was made in 2 days, however, most of the stuff inside is functional already if not all, so I think I should say good work to you. XD

I didn't play it much but I do have a question. Does the tank killable without the screen wipe? I shoot them like forever until I had to evade them but they still didn't die.

(1 edit)

I rarely play Vampire Survivor-like games, so this one is a unique entry on my side, however, I can't last even a minute on the game. Dunno if that is just because I'm bad at this kind of game or it is just that difficult XD.

Nice concept!

I like that there are several enemies with different movement variations. The spawn order also can be memorized which helps me on advancing further in the game. I streamed the game here around minute 17 if anyone wants to watch:

I think I was close to the end, but unfortunately, I didn't manage to win.

Nice game!

The game has some mechanics implemented but I think it is not utilized to it's upmost potential, although that is fine because this was made in 3 days and I guess the developer runs out of time XD. For some reason, the ghost dissapear after I escape from battle, and I got a confirmation that that is a bug, but it's nothing major at this point, I believe.

I wonder what stories the other 7 ghosts will tell.

I streamed the game here around minute 187, if anyone wants to watch:

Hi, aeon! This entry is made using Visual Novel Maker, you are correct that the programming language is javascript.  Glad that you like it. :)

I like that all towers are Suika with different outfits. About the game itself, I see that there are a lot of combinations that we can make, but sadly I can't try them all in one playthrough since they have to be unlocked randomly. I'm not sure if I was lucky to get the Gold Shot early or the other shot is actually as powerful as that one, but somehow that helps me clear the stage faster.

I streamed the game here around minute 163 if anyone wants to watch:

Overall I think this one is a solid game.

This is an interesting puzzle game! Somehow I manage to make Myon go outside of the border on level 1, perhaps that is a bug.

I streamed the game here around minute 103 if anyone wants to watch:

This is a simple mechanic yet interesting execution. I was planning to suggest adding an indicator on how far we walk already somewhere on the screen, but then I think that would decrease the unknown-atmosphere factor so I don't really sure if I want to suggest that. XD

I streamed the game here around minute 87 if anyone wants to watch:

Nice job on the game!

Good prototype! There is some stuff that is not implemented on time, but overall we can already see how the basic gameplay will be played out.

I streamed the game here around minute 71 if anyone wants to watch:

Most of the suggestions that I want to tell for this game are already said after I finished playing the game on the stream (pretty sure you already watch them XD). Good luck with the development!

Interesting prototype! So far I can throw things and Reimu attacks me when I'm in her field of vision. Would like to see how the actual gameplay will be. Also, love the pixel art inside the 3D environment.

This game has a good eerie atmosphere implemented inside. My only complaint is that the room is quite repetitive. There are some new things like Yuyuko or Mima spawn, but to be honest I like for it to have more just than that. I only manage to clear up to room 50 though, since, for some reason, the Suika doll bite me when I tried to regain my sanity. Not sure if I did something wrong or if there are hidden timers and I run out of time when that happened.

I stream the game here around minute 25 if anyone wants to watch:

Overall the game is good. My only issue is that it's kinda hard to track the inventory and the order when played on a big screen because the things that we need to track are both on the bottom-left and top-right sides of the screen, but that maybe just me.

I played the game here around minute 2, if anyone wants to watch:

Nice game!

Interesting...

This is short but a fun game still! It's Touhou more or less but flashier. The first thing I note is that there are a lot of shiny things on the screen which kinda makes me hard to keep track of things but I did realize that there are settings to turn down their transparency. I haven't tested that though, but pretty sure it will help with my only problems when playing it.

Overall it's a great game! Good job!

I spent some time playing this game. It's quite fun and challenging, but unfortunately, I didn't manage to get enough blue souls to give to Yuyuko. Having a more visible invincible indicator (instead of it just blinking) would be nice.

Love the pixel art!

Love the character's artwork! They are cute and expressive! Overall this is a fun game.

I streamed the game here around minute 102 in case anyone wants to watch:

I had one question though. I believe we can't scare any of the flying characters, but can we scare Byakuren?

It took me some time to figure out how the mechanics on the game works, not to mention that changing Yuyuko's direction is kinda difficult. However, I quite enjoy the game after playing it for a while.

Also, Yuyuko's picture at the end is a treat.

I stream the game here around minute 92 in case anyone wants to watch:

This is a good kinetic novel and knowing that it was made around 3 hours before the submission deadline makes me wonder what it could become if more time were spent on it!

Good job!

When I played the game for the first time, I accidentally collect all items and proceed to the extra and got the item for the true ending, and I think the game locks me on that particular ending, so I can't get the 3rd one, which I believe can be obtained by not collecting all items. Perhaps a way to wipe the game data would be a nice patch. :)

Love the 'Till When' remake!

This is a cute game! I like that you need to observe the trick-or-treater to figure out which one is Suika and which one is not, and you can always do that!

Great work!
