Great concept, would love to see it expanded further. Perhaps a phase where you get to choose the placement of your minions on the map?

I think you should make it so it's game over if the hero reaches the end of the track, to force the player to think on their feet.

That was so good! I really enjoyed it. The idea is simple but unique, and the emergent gameplay is surprisingly deep. You have to think quickly and sometimes make difficult choices. I would love to see you do more with this.

Everything was going great until three old wizards came in robbed the place. :C

Great work, though! Very charming.

Novel idea, and well executed!

I particularly enjoyed ramming into Icarus and sending him flying across the screen. Serves him right.

This is going to sound daft but the dragon opening its eye after you pick up a coin is one of the coolest things I've seen in this entire Jam.

I love the idea, and it's really well presented! The controls seemed very simple at first, but I quickly got frustrated by not knowing whether the scroll wheel would rotate vertically or horizontally, so I think some visual indication of that on screen would be really helpful!

I had to rep my fellow 9-5ers by making sure InAMeeting won.

Entertaining and tidily put together. Great work!

I felt bad that I couldn't give this a proper go on stream last night, so I went back and played it again and I absolutely love it. The aesthetic is great, it's short but it's intense and fun to play! Would love to see it expanded on.

(1 edit)

Thank you! And yes I agree. I had originally planned to have different cards in the player's deck to add more variety and make things a bit faster or more interesting, but developing the system itself ended up taking up all my time.

That's very fair. Unfortunately I spent too long on the system itself and ran out of time before I could add anything else in to make it more challenging. The fireball and minion cards only spawned one hazard at first, imagine how much easier it would have been if I hadn't changed that at the last minute! lol

Absolutely, here you go! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1869245799?t=02h38m45s

NO MENUS FOR YOU!

Haha, I noticed this one myself too. It's probably because the main menu is a hacked up version of the pause menu that I made in the final hours of the jam.

Thank you!

thanks for the detailed feedback! Yeah unfortunately i ran out of time to add anything more interesting, but I have a lot of ideas for how I could expand it

Thanks! It's not clearly communicated, but if that happens it means the player has a card that can revive you, which they will "conveniently" draw the following turn.

my favourite part was when the chicken unleashed  his hidden power

it's a cactuswreck!

it was very satisfying to ram the platform into the guys >3c

you were right, eating sushi is hard

The camera was a bit awkward, but it wasn't enough to stop me from beating the game! Good work.

Great presentation, but I found it hard to work out what I was supposed to do. D:

I think momentum could do with building up a little faster, but I had fun!

FIGHT!!

Took me a bit to figure it out, but an interesting idea! I think it would be cool if the player had something to do between waves.

One of my favourite interpretations of the theme so far. Would be cool if some enemies tried to defend as well, perhaps reducing your timer if you hit them.

Really fun idea, and nicely put together!

Unique idea, and I love the presentation!

Great presentation.

Very well put together. I definitely think it needs a little more interactivity, but it's a solid base that I think you could have a lot of fun with!

Very cute. I liked it when people were bus.

I love the artwork!
