Unique and fun idea. Would like to see the played card in an array.
Thanks for playing.
That's a good suggestion but then I feel the game will become slightly more easy?
Nah, right now it's just too confusing and overwhelming I think. I have a bunch of ideas that could make the detective game more fun and engaging. One of them is having the last 3-4 cards shown (maybe you toggle it by pressing a button). And another one is to have the rules just be partially hidden. So let's say there's a rule that says "Only Even Numbers". But in the game it will look like this: "Only *BLANK* Numbers". Or if the rule is "Numbers greater than 5" then in-game it'll show "Numbers *BLANK* 5" or "Numbers greater than *BLANK*". So it could be less confusing. And maybe even add an option to guess what it is. Like the options for the last rule would be "Equal to, Greater than, Lower than, Not equal...etc".
Maybe add a menu with the possible rules?
That could be one way of doing it. I've been thinking of some Detective Mode functionality, to be able to go back and forth in time (you stop the game any time let's say and enter the detective mode). This way it gives you time to inspect the game and guess the rules. Don't know the best way to do it yet
What a fun concept! Poor Timothy's animations were so cute and added a lot of charm to rest of the really clean visuals and sound design! I love a good reverse deduction game, but I seem to have been one of those who got the bug that prevents me from getting any more rules beyond the first two. Besides that, this is a neat little puzzle game that's really impressive for being made in 48 hours!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! It's not a bug, the first level indeed has only 2 rules. The following levels have more (you get into the next levels by winning). There's no indication of the existence of levels, we wanted to make them randomized and add rules to the first level, but unfortunately we ran out time :)
Very interesting concept! When I hit the wrong number/colour, I spammed E and Q hard before the time runs out... lol
Awesome presentation as well. I also appreciated small details like the name of the game being "One".
Thanks for playing.
Yes it's indeed a very creative game with great art from the art members of our team. Even I liked the card saying no when spamming.
Hey folks great submission took me a round to realise I was the card and wasn't wanting to be played but once i got the idea it was pretty straight forward. I would like to see maybe some new rules implemented that are less easy to predict like +1 to the current card number or something like that. Overall though it's a great concept and really well executed visually I could see this developing really well! If you have time please check out our Submission and give us some feedback and a rating! :)
Thanks for playing.
We did add a tutorial for players who like to directly like to get into the game (Like me). Yes, the rule that you mentioned in a part of 9+ rules in the 5 levels that we submitted to the jam.
Great game! I didn't fully understand how to observer others to figure out the rules. I played 3 rules with blind guessing but didn't pass the first round after trying to know the rules. Overall it's fun to play and I still enjoyed it! Nice work!
Thanks for playing.
You have to see what card is getting played and how can your save yourself from it. It takes 2-3 round to get the feel of the game.
This is a really cool idea executed well. I'm not sure what, but I feel like something is missing in the design to make it super interesting. The music feels perfect. Incredible work for 48 hours.
Thanks for playing.
Hope you enjoyed the game? What do you think we have missed in this game?
I did enjoy the game. I'm sorry, this probably isn't the most helpful feedback, but I felt like I was waiting for one more mechanic or rule or something to kick in and twist the concept. I'm not sure what that would be or if that is even needed for what you are going for, it was just a feeling I had while playing. I hope that helps a little bit more.
I understand the feeling. Honestly not every game everyone likes. But your feedback is very important so that I do understand what was the missing thing that could make the game even more fun.
A fellow "you are the card/deck"-submission :D
Your version definitely has more personality than ours though.
I really liked the approach you took!
Thanks! I was curious about how others would implement the "You are the card" idea. We knew that if people had thought about the same idea, the implementation would be completely different from ours. You took it in a "card creation" direction with some entertaining anime-like dialogues, while we envisioned it as a stealth/detective game. I tried yours, but the card creation time was so short that I was only able to drag one of the boxes into the card .-. But it was fun nonetheless!
Ok, I realized the drag and drop are snappy, so I was able to do it lol
Very unique and creative game here, one of my favourite <3
Loved also the high level of polishing in every sense, good job!
Thanks for playing.
Hope you enjoyed the game. How many rules did you played it?
I had fun with the 2 UNO rules!
That's great. Why not try the other levels as well where you will have a bunch of other different rules.
Extremely polished. Had a lot of fun with this one.
Thanks for playing.
Hope you really enjoyed playing our game.
10/10 game, chill, entretaining, great art, great music, good mechanic, perfect game!
Thanks for playing.
How many rules did you played with? The game indeed is very creative. I had super fun developing this.
Got to 4 rules, was a chaos!!!
That's pretty impressive. What did you thought of that?
I honestly failed to know which rules were being aplied ^^'
Great game! I love the idea to deduce rules during play! Also aesthetics is really at top! Awesome job!
Thanks for playing.
Hope you enjoyed the game. How many rules did you play it?
I won four-five of matches with four rules each
That's super amazing. I think we need more difficult rules now then.
Really nice concept and art. The sound design and music also go with the gameplay very well. The rounds usually are over very quickly though, so there are usually at most only 3 rules, I wonder if the rounds can be extended somehow?
Thanks for playing.
Hope you enjoyed the game. Right now there are 9+ rules in 5 levels. Do you have ideas that we can explore?
I got played as in don't know how to play clearly! Nice game and art! Check out ours too!
Thanks for playing.
Was the tutorial not helpful? How many rules did you play with?
I really enjoyed the visuals and UI design. I don't think I fully grasped how to play. A visual tutorial might have helped. But overall, awesome design!! Great work!!
Thanks for playing.
The game does have a tutorial for understanding the controls and game-play. We also made the first level easy for players so that they can grasp the game-play and can play more difficult rules/levels. How many rules did you play with?
got pretty boring pretty quickly... also, I was played when the rules said I shouldn't have been (same colour or same number, yet I was a green 4 laid on a red 2)
Thanks for playing.
The start of the game is deliberately kept slow. for players to grasp and fully understand the game. I think a skip turns button might have helped? The issue you are saying might be either a very rare bug or a new rules might have been added to the game. I think it's the second one because the scenario you mentioned is exactly the same for the rule of +2 Card. Maybe give it another go? If this issue still occurs then it's a bug and I am sorry about it. I will personally take a look at it.
Very nice game! Personally, I would have had a scripted "tutorial" of some sorts in order to make the first round shorter and get you hooked
Thanks for playing.
I understand what you are saying. Since it was a Gamjam submission with a restricted time. We thought of just making the first level super easy for players. We had another discussion about the tutorial the way you mentioned as well. If we add that, still players have to figure out the rules of game. So to overcome all this we kept first level easy and added a good and basic tutorial on how to play the game and it's basic of how to.
Cool game. I would add a complexity a bit: now its rather simple. Just don't match colour and number. Maybe the initial game rules should have more rules (maybe adding swipe of cards and you need to change hand u in to be unnoticed) or restrictions on card change (for example u cant change more than 2 times in one round)
Thanks for playing.
The first level is indeed easy. Did you try other 4 levels as well. The game has 9+ total rules in 5 levels.
The first idea you shared was discussed in the team and we did try it out with a smoke bomb- hand change style. We found it a bit more for our testers and so we decided to keep it away from the jam submission. The second idea you shared can't be done as there are 9 numbers and at a worst case you will have to change 9 times to reach to safety. I would like to hear more ideas from you.
Oh, sorry, i guess i missed others! Will replay it this evening ;)
When i said about "change limitations", i meant it as limitations for one game round, not level. It's enough to change 1 colour + 1 number not to get picked (in the first level though. My bad i missed others)
Replayed it, definetely was more interesting expirience with 4 rules (dunno how i managed to stay with two rules in my first play..) But i think speed doesn't help player analysis, if it's where you going. Personally feel, like it doesn't add complexity. I would decide what game focus i want: fast reaction decisions or slower analysis (ofc its only personal opinion. I think there are players who likes all at once challenge)
Overall - great game!
I thought about adding the ability to speed up the timers by pressing a button, like 'space'. So that we keep the tension but if you figured out a tactic the game won't force you to wait for a long round time.
Very cool game, i like it!
Thanks for playing.
Hope you really enjoyed it.
Yes!
Honestly, this is one of my favourite games for the jam. Very creative, fits the theme, and is polished very well (love the card little animations!). Good job guys, good job.
Thanks for playing.
Hope you really enjoyed it. How many rules did you play with? Try reaching the level with 4 rules.
Ok, I stopped at 3 to play the other games but I will try!
Surely, give it a go and let us know your feedback.
Such a lovely and polished little game!
Thanks for playing.
Hope you really enjoyed it.
