Thanks for the comment! In my DAW, I had the time signature as 26/8 because that was easier to work with. While composing, I thought of it as 3 bars of 7/8 and 1 bar of 5/8 (shamelessly stolen from "Lake Sprinkle Sprankle" by Delta Sleep). Its easiest to hear the rhythm by listening to the sine arpeggio part. For "Janus", I definitely took some inspiration from Minecraft as I really like the simple but beautiful sound it has. Most of my inspiration was actually from a lot of Maurice Ravel and some Disasterpeace.

Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the comment!

Cool soundtrack! Everything is very atmospheric and fit the story really well. The instrumentation sounds great and everything is diverse yet still cohesive. I especially liked the choir sounds you used. Well done!

Thanks for the feedback! I went back and forth on the drum volume for a while when mixing. I definitely agree that I might have made them a little too quiet though.

Really unique interpretation of the theme. The overall concept of the soundtrack is great, and the execution is even better. All of the sounds used really reflect the setting well and create a very immersive experience. Great work!

Would greatly appreciate some feedback if you're still doing this and have time. I'll be checking out your submission as well.

Nailed the underwater vibes. Both the actual instruments as well as the sound effects in the background all really represent the underwater setting well and make the soundtrack really immersive. I especially liked the delay effects in "Dreams of Water" and the bubbly sounding percussion used in "Dancing With the Fish Spirits."

The piano work is amazing on this. Everything reflects the story really well, and the more minimalistic approach works really well here.

Thanks for the help. I'll try and figure all of that out as soon as I get the chance :)

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed! I don't think I've ever noticed the volume issue, I thought SoundCloud automatically normalizes the volume of everything. Do you know of any way to make sure that the volume is more consistent?

"Floating in The in Between" has a really nice jazzy feel to it. The use of odd time signatures is great and really gives the feeling that the track is floating. "Respite" is also really well done. Its simple, but that works in its favour and gives it a very calming feeling which is perfect for its purpose. The piano melody offset is such a subtle detail, but works wonders for the overall feel of the track. Great job!

Great soundtrack! "Lights Off" was probably my favourite, but everything had a really unique vibe. It has a great mix of spookiness, whimsicality, and mysteriousness. Well done!

Awesome soundtrack! Everything sounds super professional and well-written. I would never have thought that one person could make something this polished on their own in one week. Well done!

Really high quality soundtrack. Very ambient, but still interesting enough to actively listen too. Everything sounds balanced and consistent, and it is all paced well. I ended up giving the entire thing a second listen while I did some work because it sounded so peaceful.

Thank you for the feedback! That confusing vibe is exactly what I was going for with "Janus" so I'm glad it translated well

Cool soundtrack! The beginning of "Overcome" kind of reminded me of the Nier Automata soundtrack with the string hits and percussion. Adding a "Game Over" track is something I don't think I've seen yet, and I respect the level of detail needed to add one and to make one that fits really well with the rest of the soundtrack. Good work!

"Stuck in time" has a really great happy and peaceful, yet somewhat lonely feeling that I think perfectly captures the story. "The Earth Can't Hold Me" sound great. The buildup and atmosphere is great and reflects the story well. I especially like the bassline. It gives a very ominous and ethereal feeling. I only wish it was a bit louder, as it becomes very hard to hear once other stuff is layered over. As others have said, the only glaring issue is the volume balance and mixing. Despite that, all of the ideas are good, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening. Good work!

Amazing submission! Everything sounds really diverse. Its really cool how all of the tracks had multiple sections with very distinct development. Everything was clearly well thought out and had a lot of effort put in. All the instruments sounded great, but the vocals especially stood out to me. Good work!

Very fun soundtrack! Everything sounds really colourful and has a lot of personality. I especially like the use of less traditional percussion instruments. It gives everything a much lighter feeling and makes the soundtrack as a whole sound very distinct.

Its clear you put a lot of thought into making the music match the game/story. Everything is really well written and reflects the story well. Good job!

Very cool submission! The building tension in the first have of "The Fisherman" is the perfect way to lead up to the introduction of the choir vocals. "Title Screen" also sounds really suspenseful and interesting. The use of dynamics and volume shifts in both tracks is amazing.

Cool submission! I really liked the use of two different modes to add contrast. It makes your soundtrack as a whole sound really colourful and varied while still sounding cohesive.

Totally agree with you on being paranoid about how my stuff sounds. I also don't have proper speakers or headphones so I'm constantly worrying about whether my music is actually balanced or if its just my headphones. Hopefully we can both sort out our gear troubles eventually. Also thank you for the kind words :)

Thanks for listening. I'm glad to hear that I managed to convey that mix of calmness and disjointedness well. Its also great to hear that you liked "Janus." It was my favourite one to make, but I was worried my piano playing wouldn't do it justice.

Glad you enjoyed! I definitely did take a little inspiration from the Omori OST when I was working on everything.

Everything sounds amazing. It all has a great calming vibe. The layering of all the sounds is spectacular, and everything sounds very intricate while still sounding spacious and ambient.

Really unique submission! I love that you gave a lot of space and silence, it really helps set the mood. I really like how the 2 Panic tracks are so simple yet so effective at depicting panic. That final piece especially stood out to me, as it has the perfect mix of peaceful parts and stressful parts with that ominous drone weaving in and out.

Cool idea to have different versions of the same theme! I also really liked the idea of having "The Great Extraction" in "The Heart of it All" by using the reverb, slow, and pitch shift was really unique and turned out great.

Cool submission! I really like the peaceful feeling that "Our Final Reverie" gave. It has the perfect resolved yet bittersweet feeling that an end credit track should. Good work!

Amazing submission! I really respect that you had the courage to do something more personal! The track is really well made. The vibe is great and definitely the kind of thing I would listen to in my free time. I like how everything really takes its time to develop and leave space. Having the bass act as a sort of ominous drone over everything was a great choice and the vocals sound amazing.  You nailed the submerged feeling and really captured the emotions you were going for. Good work, hope to hear more from you!

Awesome submission! "The One Who Swims in the  Stars" sounds like a really good title sequence, it gives a really nice adventurous and expectant feeling. The twinkly sounds in "Meteor Shower" sound great and kind of reminds me of some Kirby music. You definitely nailed the meteor shower vibe. "Moonlight" was also a really fun listen. The more acoustic sounds surprised me, but they worked really well and gave the track an ethereal feel.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the drums felt like they were missing something in Boat, but never thought of using reverb. I'll definitely give that a try when I get the chance.

Thank you for taking the time to give such detailed feedback. I definitely agree that Anemone needed some more variation. I was considering adding another instrument or two but ran out of time unfortunately.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'll try my best to make more stuff of the same quality in the future :)

So many different sounds and styles and they all sound amazing. All of the tracks are different and unique while still sounding cohesive as a whole soundtrack. My favourite is probably "Base Camp." The mix of guitar and drums sounded great in that one.

Awesome submission! Reminds me a lot of some FromSoft soundtracks. Especially a lot of the vocals and strings. I'm blown away by how polished you managed to get everything in such a short amount of time.

Really well written! Everything sounds really balanced and flows nicely. You got the perfect balance between happy/peaceful parts and more dissonant/unsettling parts and really captured the story you were going for.

Very cool! Bustling Brain and Battle Against A Traumatic Appointment are probably my favourites. The basslines sound great.

The interactive music idea is really cool. The dark and light versions are contrasting enough that the difference is noticeable while still being cohesive enough so that the transitions aren't distracting or jarring. My only complaint is that I can't play the game that its implemented in.
