Love the retro visuals on this, the punches and springy jump feel extremely satisfying. Nice work!
Great platformer movement, feels great to jump through the levels. I like the jump is very core to the game, and the squish animation is very good. Loved the scope of the levels, the arcade level gave me brief Tower of Latria vibes when I realised I could run around on the floor, really fun!
Controls felt really good, especially with the wind up jump. The levels are so far well designed and fun to navigate through!
The environments and level design here are seriously top notch. Nice, tight controls too. Had a blast playing it!
It’s very rare for game jam games to be this high quality, super impressed by the polish and execution.
This controls super well! I really dig the different kinds of jumps you get depending on how long you hold the button beforehand. It really did remind me of Mario 64. I'd love to see this project continue after the jam.
Really fun one! The 3D models and environments look great. I love little character in a big world type games and this one really delivered. Also the dinos were incredibly cute. Also the jumping mechanics were a nice clever addition to make it stand out. Awesome job!
The vibe of each level here was perfect. Loved the design of the dino enemies and the punch animation. Exploring the three levels as a tiny straw in a big world was a lot of fun. I know the message at the end called the game unfinished, but I really think there's plenty here. Very nice work!
Really awesome environments and ambience! The straw jump mechanic is innovative and the level design is great. Amazing work!
Incredible environments and animations! The unique movement mechanics are really sweet too. the start of an excellent platformer!
Really great, creative angle to have Glerry be straw-sized in a normal scale world, and the jump mechanic on top of that - such a great way to draw from the character concepts cleverly
The game radiates charm. You did a fantastic job emulating the N64 style.
a super fun platformer. great visual style and the levels feel fun to explore.
I love the aesthetic and level design of this game, they're really authentic to PS1/N64 era platformers. I could totally see Glerry Quest 64 being fleshed out into a popular promotional game for The Smoke Box, cause who doesn't want to collect onion rings and punch little dinos. Awesome job PixelCod!
I found this game really inspiring, I'd love to make 3D platformer with this level of atmosphere and scope for a Game Jam someday. The coily jump mechanic was super fun to use while exploring, and I found myself tapping the jump as speed tech in the wide open space of the street level. Really had fun with this one!!
Thanks for the kind words! I was also bunny-hopping everywhere during development hehe
The game has a very strong foundation and you should be proud of what you achieved even if it was incomplete, great game.
Thank you Leo! I learnt a lot making this so hopefully next year I'll be ready to make something more finished :D
I really liked the vision of this game. Great aesthetics and concepts for the characters and levels. One of my favorite moments was coming up out of the sewer grate and realizing how small Glerry was in that world. Glad you were able to submit this in time.
I also liked the Sewer level reveal!
Hey even though this game wasn't complete, I still had a blast playing it! It's a shame those dinos are so cute, 'cause I gotta bash their faces in. I loved the art, designs, and especially the animation. Shades of Mario 64 with those punches! Using Glerry's design as a straw to inform the compression-to-jump move was an inspired choice! Nice work!
