Nice! This game had all the fundamentals of an FPS game nailed down, although sometimes it didn't feel like my bullets hit, maybe making the enemies flash white or something could help! It did feel a little grindy, as I never felt too at risk and it was just a matter of constantly trying to gather ammo to I could shoot them more. I liked the opening of the game and it was decently fun, but could have been a little shorter :) Nice job!

This was super interesting to play, and pretty dark... I got the ending(?) instantly on my first run, so upon replaying, I wasn't sure if there was any way to progress towards an ending beyond keeping the patients alive indefinitely. SUPER interesting idea and implementation, and this game actually serves educational means by teaching me how to recognise certain heart patterns, and their definitions. I saw your comment below about adding stages of introducing medicine, and I think that's a great idea. Starting with 2-3 potential heartrate patterns then working it up along with new medicine and progression towards an ending would be so awesome, and this mechanic is great, it just needs some more feedback and tutorialisation for it to "click" with us non-medical folk.

I also loved the movement of pushing the trolley, but especially through the doors, it felt like pretty good movement, but it also simulated the urgency you often see in movies and medical dramas, and it really makes you feel important haha. The hospital was super creepy, and in a way I haven't seen, it's not abandoned, it's just... empty and devoid of hope. On a side note, I think this sort of game but in a victorian, plague-doctor esque setting would go crazy - food for thought ;) Amazing job!

Thank you so much! Glad you find it scary, it's really hard to tell from my perspective... agreed with the words mechanic, it's a tricky one, and not too accessible... tricky to find the balance between it being too easy with obviously different sounding words, and somewhat similar sounding words that throw you off... Thank you for playing, and I'll play and rate you now!

Glad you liked it dude! I really enjoyed messing with the witch/hex/satanic themes so I think I need to make another game with similar vibes haha. Agreed with the words mechanic: because I voiced them, I know exactly how it should sound, but the mechanic turned out way more challenging that I expected... but it's been a really interesting experiment. Glad you liked it, and relieved that you found it scary! Cheers :)

This game looked pretty interesting but it's a shame that nothing seems to really happen. The heartbeat mechanic is super interesting but quite strict, so it's frustrating when I miss it and can't move. Overall an interesting experimental game!

Not bad for 3 days! The beginning was super trippy, and I somehow got lost haha. The controls were a little slow and it made the chores even more chore-y, but it was interesting and eerie

Thanks for playing man! I watched the whole thing and honestly you were so close to dying at the end I was clawing my head haha, it was so tense!

I might add a couple more health points and I've added the ability to repeat whispers which I'll release soon. Watching you play was very valuable and enjoyable, and I'm glad you liked it!

This is so awesome to hear, I'm glad you enjoyed it + found it scary! You may like 'BUNKER 73', a game I helped make for the previous Scream Jam. Hoping to make many games this year :)

Cheers for the feedback, I appreciate it! It's an experimental mechanic but not very accessible... I will add the ability to repeat the current word when the player presses 'R'. Glad you enjoyed it!

The movement in this game had me giggling - I love the charge jump and the traps and their different effects. As a cat person, I must unfortunately declare that I did not like this cat, and he scared me quite a few times - the AI was really nice! I found myself making many attempts at the game, especially near the end of the game, and I wish it was quicker to jump back into the game if I died. It's also too dark to read anything in some areas. Overall, amazing jam game, and it was really fun and unique!

This was a nice story! It felt padded out by the sample collecting, which was ultimately irrelevant to the overall story and felt like a chore. The cutscenes between days were the best bit, and I thought the premise was pure horror. Good submission, just a little too long

Honestly, I don't know how you made this. Is it rendered in 3D? It's baffling. Really good writing, somehow quite emotional, and incredibly polished. Bravo.

This was a great, uncomfortable playthrough. I thought it was super impactful with how it deals with guilt, but also the dehumanization that occurs for both the victim and the perpetrator. I think it portrays dissociation and blind rage effectively, and you actively hate what you're doing whilst enjoying the FPS mechanics at the same time. This game speaks to current geopolitical conflict, and whilst I think the seemingly hebrew newspaper is a little too on-the-nose, the game speaks as a powerful piece on conflict, dehumanization and coping with the guilt. Also loved the sound design and PSX style!

The art style is incredibly, but unfortunately this game is let down by its design. I couldn't figure out how to complete the game, and it falls apart when the train becomes monstrous, with extremely loud noises which I had to turn down.

I think the premise is awesome, and the idea of the drawing blood and sacrificing mechanic, but it needs more explaining and feedback as I never knew if I was doing it right... massive kudos to whoever made the art!!

This game looks fucking cool - I loved the animation and shooting mechanics. A reticle in the centre of the screen would be nice, but I totally get why you wouldn't include it either. The level design was great, and I felt like I was descending into somewhere unknown. The creatures were creepy and shooting them was fun. I just wish there was more interaction with the poisonous gas element, since you get the mask, walk a few meters, then run away and you don't need the mask anymore... but for a jam game this is fantastic. Good premise, good gameplay, great visuals.

Hey! I'm also having the same issue with the first puzzle, I can't click or interact with anything. I can only look around :( there's still time to bug fix and upload a new build, I wanna finish this!

Overall this is a solid submission, and quite ambitious for a 7 day jam! I enjoyed the art style, although I'm not sure how well it pairs with the investigative, psychological tone... but I enjoy the "crunchy" look of it. I think if the fog and screen effects were slightly reduced it would make the game more enjoyable!

I was immersed in the game and it has a great atmosphere and clear passion woven into it, so I appreciate it a lot. It would be cool to see what you can cook up with even more time.

Some small issues with the game:

  • The first key was very hard to spot, it was hidden in plain sight! If it was slightly brighter it would help
  • I wasn't looking at the correct area at the end, missing the climax
  • I didn't enjoy being trapped in areas whilst listening to the story. I think it's fine but the sequences are a little too long

Hey! Wow, thanks for the in-depth feedback (and video!) This game was really thrown together so I had little time to consider things like level design sadly.

The next patch is reducing the area size, adding pathing and making the font more readable, so it should be much easier to comlete. Some fundamental things I can't address, but hey that's game jammin! Thanks again Niven!

This is nice! I love the menu and the flickering light in the garage. I assume you were inspired by Clap Clap and Fears To Fathom... I didn't realise the objectives had to be done in a linear order so I was confused that I couldn't pick up the laundry or trash, and the ending sequence was a little fast, but overall a nice experience!

Thanks for the in-depth feedback! Really glad you liked it. We're thinking about working some more on this game, unlocking some of those doors and adding some new areas and members of the family, and we'll address how to communicate and improve the function of the sensor. Also about the lore, we left it pretty vague (for now...) but you can learn more if you investigate with the camera... also as a big fan of The Thing, I'm honored to play your game and glad you like ours!! Follow BrageKH and you'll find out if/when we post the update for the full game :)

This was fun!! Clever use of dual perspective and taking photos felt satisfying and quick. You rely on the flash function as the game is so dark, so it feels spammy as a mechanic, but also lends itself to the whole "hide/reveal" aspect that this game leans well into. Also loved the Lovecraftian nods and colour palette, and the ending sequence was short but scary! Great game, and super impressive for a 7 day jam!

Hey! We also made a game that uses a camera as a primary mechanic - would be cool to see how different our approaches are! Will play now, here's our game: https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2024/rate/3058445

This is super nice! Hotline Miami / Superhot vibes, and I love the art style too.
