Oh my god what a blast! In this game FIREFIGHTERS really keep you ON THE EDGE with their mechanic and you really have to BUILD the fire TO SCALE. I really like the serious monologues, the thrilling music and the amazing art. I really enjoyed the game and it's mechanics and I think it is a BIG SHOT for the

GMTK Game Jam 2024

.

I really like the mix of the styles. I haven't heard something like that before I think but it fits quite well toghether, or at least you manage to combine it very nicely. You use the leitmotiv between the first 2 songs combined with nice arrpegios and change it up in the 3rd song to sound more hopeful.

My favourite track would probably be "Battle Against the heart of the cave" just because the harpsichord and the e guitar combine very well + a good bass line and the second drop just tops it of very nicely.

Definetly a very cool and unique submission, keep it up! :D

Those are some really cool tracks! It's definetly noticeable that you put a lot of thought and effort into the tracks. I found it really helpful to have the editor's notes on each track, since I am currently trying to get better in music theory myself qand this really taught me something new, since I 've never heard of the chromatic mediant before. The more you know!

It's also great, that you and your friend recorded a few partrs for the Tracks. In my opinion it makes the tracks sound more real or personal in a way (espescially cause you can hear the breathing from the trumpet), it lcreates a nice contrast in the "digital world".

My favourite peace would probably be "If I got a wish", because it introduces the trumpet and has a very nice synergy with the celeste like synth, it is split into 3 seperate fragments, which all ecvoke slightly different emotions.

So overall very nice OST, keep it up! :D

First of all thanks for rating my OST, it means a lot!

I have watched the Youtube Video and  it was a very nice experience. The Text combined with the music was very powerful and really immerses one in the story.

It was a very nice arrangement and the Choirs were amazing. It all had a similar vibe, wjcih added to the story building, really characterizing Thalasia.

I think as a game OST it would need to be a bit more loopable, but that would probably work if the remainder was just cut.

Overall it was still a very nice OST, that really fit the character you described, keep it up :D

First of all thanks for rating my track it means a lot.

I am amazed at how you managed to create such a Piece in the duration of 1 day. It's only 1 track but the variation inside it definetly makes up for it.  I personally often struggle to bring variation into my Tracks, so I find it amazing to listen to the smooth transitions and the changing chords/indtruments all while the Piano and strings remain as a constant in the background, while builduing their own motives.

Overall very nice peace and I'm hoping to listen to another contribution next year, with your ears in top shape hopefully!:D

Moin!

First of all thanks a lot for rating my submission, it means a lot.

As for the OST, I like orchetral music a lot, so this was a blast  to listen to. I loved how you could hear the music going from very calm to quite tense over the 3 Tracks. I also really liked the implementation of the sea and the implications with it in the different Tracks.

My favourite Track would probably be Det skremmer meg - FLYKTE, just because I love the combination ofd the screamy like sfx with the epic timpanis and the cinematic wind instruments/trumpets.

Overall it was very nice, keep it up! :D

Moin!

Before anything else, thanks a lot for your rating on my submission.

Now to the OST! Most of what I wanted to say has already been commented so I'll keep it short.

- I really love how you use soundeffects in the tracks,  it adds a lot of flavour (especially the first one)

- Great Palate, all Songs sound very unique and represent a different world very nicely

- The Filters which make it sound old school sound great as well and as you get further into the genres it dissapates more, which shows a really nice progression through the different worlds.

- Overall Melody and Instrument choice was really nice as well

So in total really good job, keep it up! :D

Wow, it's visible that you put a lot of effort into the songs. Through the main usage of 8-bit instruments it feels very "retro", but you still manage to create different vibes. I could definitly see this on a big SNES game and even though the genre isn't really my cup of tea, I still went of to the hotelier and the director. And decpite the length of the tracks and the album it manages to not sound repetitive but loopable, which would make it great for an actual Videogame.

Overall it was very nice to listen to, keep it up!

Hello I listened to the songs and would like to give some Feedback since you asked,

I liked that the the differenet themes changed in genre a lot while still keeping a coherent motiv. It's great to listen to a dark interpretation of the theme, as up until now I haven't heard any of those. And while I am very sorry for you that you have to suffer through psychosis, I thibk it makes this entry very special and unique. Through the different Songs you could also feel a change in the attitude of the music, which I think the titles also show quite well. It also feels that you have the proficiency to use different Instruments for different moods quite well.

I didn't really like some of the sound design because at least for me it lead to clipping and overdriving and sometimes the instruments really hit you out of the blue main example being the drums in before the storm. I think it's definitly a powerful choice but I don't think that it would fit into a game very well since it's very surprising. I also think that some of the songs aren't really loopable, since there are a few changes made in the style which don't get lead back at the end.

But overall I do still think that you did a great job in filling out the theme and that with an impressive amount of 8 songs, so keep it up!

Normally people say quality over quantity. But oh my god this managed to do both, 7 orchestral Tracks!!! With an own Motiv and everything. The image that the writers paint with their description fits so incredibly well with the music. My favourite would probably be "beyond the door" because it introduces the magic with exotic drums and a choir of voices, which in many pieces can feel very ethereal or mysterious in a safe way.

I enjoyed listening to the tracks a lot!

Before anything I just wanna say that I find it incredibly funny that you had that idea in mind, since I had something very similar in mind lol. But it's very interesting to see how you have a very different approach in comparison to me.

I really liked both songs but especially the 2nd one was very nice in my opinion, because it has that amazing transition, which really lets you imagine a bizarre world in which all of your imaginations can become reality, good and bad. And because the first piece doesn't have any drums the drop really gives feeling of moving forward and progression into the deeper layers.

Overall very nice Songs, keep it up!

Hello I listened to the songs and I'd like to give my feedback.

I liked the electronic style of the songs and the way that you use different effects to make the songs unique (reverb, delay etc.). With 4 songs you manage to keep the theme clear on one style. My favourite Song is probably Judgement since I really like the chords and the delayed layering of the notes.

I disliked the Audio Quality, because it was clipping/overmodulating, which didn't feel that nice. You maybe could have put a little more emphasis on the melody, since I feel that you created most of the "Bossfight vibe" with the drums and I think for. But that is of course a stylistic choice.

Overall very solid tracks though, keep it up!

I don't know why the submission is called like the game jam I participated in. The submissions name should be "dream dash" with the soundcloud cover picture lol
